CHAPTER SIX - COMMENTS AND FEELINGS

Mrs. Sharpe quickly turned away from the stove and she went to answer the door. All Valentina was able to hear from the doorway was muffled talking and then she heard the sound of her mom walking towards the living room.

She was too scared to move and thought she clearly needed to be slapped, because why would a confident adult female like her be scared of a man even though he was the prince and future king of all werewolves?

Her mom slowly walked back into the kitchen. "The Prince is here and he is waiting for you in the living room," she said with a huge sweet smile on her face.

Yeah, this is going to be a long night, Valentina thought, nodding and she started to walk toward the living room.

Alexander was standing with red roses in his hands. He was wearing a midnight black suit and his hair was gelled back professionally. Valentina almost fell because of the sight of him, and she thought that she clearly needed to be ran over by a truck because of how she was acting in front of the prince.

Maybe the reason she always acted this way was because the air when she was around the prince was always intoxicating. She walked toward him and stopped to bow.

"If you bow one more time around me, l would feel offended that you see me as a member of the royal family and not your mate," he said in his deep voice.

"I am sorry about that. I am just not used to this," Valentina said and put her head down.

The prince walked closer to her and kissed her forehead, and she immediately thought she really would not be able to make it through the night without dying.

He took a long look at her, and he smiled Like a stupid, lovey-dovey smile. So Valentina returned a smile back because she really didn't want to be rude since he had already asked her on this date.

"Valentina, you are so beautiful," he said, his voice coming out in a whisper. His beautiful honey colored eyes sparkled as he looked at her.

Valentina tried to hide the blush that was coming to her face before she spoke. "Thank you, Alexander," she replied.

Then he started to laugh. This was the first time he had laughed around Valentina and she loved it so much because he sounded so wholesome.

It even made her to smile. "What is funny?" she asked and he stopped laughing so that he could answer her question.

"I understand what made to you laugh when I saw you earlier," he said making Valentina's smile to become bigger.

"I wanted to make sure you still got to see the blue you requested," she replied.

He smiled even more before he spoke. "Do you not like the color blue? It looks beautiful on you," he stated proudly.

"No, I think the color blue is a nice color. It is just that black is my favorite color," she said and he nodded his head.

He pulled back, handing her the bouquet of beautiful roses as her mom came into the living room. That was when Valentina finally got a look at what she was wearing.

She had been in her head too much that she didn't notice her mom's effort to impress a member of the royal family. She was wearing a modest brown but beautiful dress. Her blond hair was in pretty curls that hung down her back and she looked really beautiful.

She bowed in front of Prince Alexander and the prince shook his head. "Please, Mrs. Sharpe, don't bow for me. You are my future mother in law, and there is no need for that" Alexander said.

Valentina's mom nodded and turned to her. "I hope you two have a great time tonight. Here, l will take these and make sure she doesn't kill them," her mom said, joking while taking the flowers from Valentina's hands and laughing softly.

Neither Alexander nor Valentina laighed at Mrs. Sharpe's joke, so she cleared her throat because of the awkwardness in the air.

"Thank you, Mrs. Sharpe for inviting me into your home. Have a great night," Alexander said and he reached for Valentina's hand. She put her hand in his and she hated to admit it but she loved it more than she would have liked to admit.

They started to walk hand in hand towards the door, and Valentina thought that to survive the rest of the dinner, she had to be more confident.

I am a damn warrior, I am a female warrior. I can manage to keep my composure throughout tonight, she thought.

She was so into her head with thinking that she didn't realize that they were already in the car.

"You think a lot." His voice interrupted the silence.

Valentina was immediately taken aback by his statement. "Because I am a woman?" she said in an offended tone.

Then she looked ahead, trying not to maintain eye contact because she could tell that he caught her tone. The car was starting to slow down and they were nowhere near wherever they were going. In fact, they were in the middle of the woods.

The car came to a complete stop, and she looked over to Alexander. He was still staring ahead, his eyes on the road in front of him. He finally looked towards her and brought his face closer to hers.

It was so quiet that you could hear her rigid breathing in the car. Valentina could also smell him and she wanted so badly to pass out in his scent, as long as it enveloped her.

She examined his face and it remained emotionless. It was either emotionless or it was that way because she could not tell what he was feeling or thinking.

Valentina was sure that she had the same expression on her face too.

"Never have l ever disrespected a woman because of the mere fact that she is woman," he said while searching her face for a reaction.

But Valentina's face wasn't readable, and she knew that because she was taught as a warrior to always hide her emotions from her enemies because it could act as a disadvantage to her.

She knew Alexander wasn't her enemy but she had gotten so used to not showing emotion to people she didn't know. And whether Shay liked it or not, they didn't know Alexander yet.

Valentina nodded her head because she knew that she had probably offended him with her comment. "Sorry for offending you, Alexander. In my pack there are a lot of misogynistic men," she said.

"And what is your take on these misogynistic men in your pack?" he asked in a curious tone.

"Well, I don't hate them, but I feel bad for them because they can't acknowledge that they are idiots," she said confidently while smiling.

Alexander laughed again for the second time that night. Valentina examined his face more and she noticed that he had a dimple when he smiled.

He was so handsome that it was no wonder the she-wolves fell to their feet whenever they set their eyes on him. According to Kendra, he was loved all around the entire werewolf kingdom.

"Valentina," he called, his voice interrupting her thinking.

"Yes," she responded with confidence.

He was looking ahead towards the road again, and he looked indifferent when he did that. "What is your definition of dominance?" he asked.

"It is the complete control over something or someone. I might be wrong but that is my own definition," Valentina said, still looking at him while he was still facing away from her.

"Why did you ask?" she asked, curious to know why he had asked her that particular question out of many others that he might have chosen.

"I crave to dominate my kingdom. I also crave to dominate my mate," he said while turning his head to the side to look at Valentina.
