Chapter 4

Gio's. POV

It has been 4 years ever since that rogue passed through our territory, and I still haven't been able to stop thinking of her.

"Alpha? Are you okay? You spaced for a while. Would you like for me to read the report about the meeting with the council now or would you have it read later?" My Beta Andrew asked.

"Continue." I sat there listening to the rest of the war about the impending war

Beta Matthew's POV

After talking with Aiden, I announced to the pack about the impending war and that there were people who would help us out. After I told them to clean the house, I left the hall and went to the only place that might take my mind off the situation, Samantha's room.

I went there and sat on the bed reminiscing on every moment I was with her. I liked her a lot when she was born but after what happened to the former Alpha and Luna, everything changed. I bullied her even when at the back of my mind I knew it was wrong.

Rejecting her had to be one of the worst mistakes I have ever made. What's done is done, I can't take back the rejection, the bond was broken but I had this small inkling of hope that maybe she might come back, maybe she could give me a chance to fix everything, but that can only happen if she is found.

I stayed in her room for about an hour before I went to finish my work.

1 week later

Alpha Aiden's POV

We were waiting for the mysterious Rainbow Phoenix Clan and their leader as we were waiting, it seemed like the pack was anxious.

When we saw some figures coming, the worst happened.

Rogues came running, we were about to stop them when they all dropped to the ground unconscious.

We were all shocked and scared to where this mysterious force was coming from.

As we looked around the Rainbow Phoenix Clan arrived and to say we were shocked would be an understatement, we were stupefied by who we were greeted with.

Sam's POV

The week went by quickly and before I knew it, it was time to go to the Blue Rose Pack.

"Is everyone ready?" I asked. I was seeing everyone off before they went to their destinated positions. My group was the last to leave. My group consisted of those who were going the same way as me.

When we were almost to the pack, though we were like 5 miles away, thanks to my Phoenix I was able to see some figures in the distance.

"Hey Alisha, I will stay at the back while you get in front."

"Understood."

When we were about a few meters away from the border, I sensed rogues. I decided to wait and see what their motives were. When we were at the border the warriors stopped us but thank goodness, they had the QR scanner that I told them to get.

After we passed the border, I felt that the rogues entered the pack. When they were almost to the pack house, I used my Green Flames to control the earth to stop them.

A Phoenix is born with a specific fire,

The Red Flame is the most common

The Orange Flame is for healing

The Purple Flame is for turning back and accelerating time for a living being

The Pink Flame is for telepathy, empathy, and telekinesis

Finally, the Blue Flame, is the most lethal, it is as cold as ice but burns like fire.

Each flame could burn, but not at the same intensity depending on which flame it is, each having its specific properties.

I was born with what we call the Rainbow Flames, it is a Flame created from each of the Flames, I can use them individually or simultaneously. It was hard to master it but after 3 and a half years of grueling training, I was able to master it.

I used the green flames to put poison in the thorns of some vines, I captured the rogues and killed them.

I could tell the pack was surprised and asking themselves what happened to the rogues.

When we arrived, Alisha got off her bike, and then the rest of the clan got down of the car. I was a bit behind but caught up quickly.

When I got there, I decided to show off a bit. When I stopped, I did a triple backflip.

As I landed, I heard some of the pack members talking, who is that, who does she think she is showing off like that?

Well, you're in for a huge surprise.

Aiden approached Alisha thinking she was the leader.

"Welcome Clan leader of the Rainbow Phoenix Clan, we hope your stay will be to your liking."

Alisha and the rest of the clan started laughing while the pack were asking themselves what was funny.

"Oh, we are sorry for laughing, but I am not the clan leader she is," Alisha said while pointing to me. I decided to make my grand entrance.

I removed my helmet and there were several shocked gasps and so on. "My Name is Samantha Emilia Parker; I am the Clan Leader of the Rainbow Phoenix Clan." After saying those words, I knew this would be fun.

"H... how, wh..when, did you become a Phoenix? We looked for you everywhere, but you were nowhere to be found." Aiden asked instead of Matthew, too shocked to register that I was in front of them.

"Well after being rejected by my mate, I ran away, mom and Dad left me some money aside from the pack, in case anything happened to you, I didn't use it for the reason they expected, but in the end, I started my own company and voila now I'm a multi-millionaire, leader of my clan and I fill in a seat on the council."

Before I could say anything, else Matthew ran up and hugged me saying mate in my ear. With the Purple Flame, I turned back his movements and put him on pause.

"I ran because you rejected me, I accepted, there is no bond left next time you come near me in that way I will burn you.

Now I would like to know if my room is ready, I need to sleep after all this drama."

I released Matthew and he whimpered as I walked past him without sparing him a glance.

I was shown to my room. It was big with a walk-in closet, an adjoining bathroom, a TV, and more furniture.

I started to unpack my belongings. When I was done, I called Alisha to my room to go over everything that was to be done. "I want you to go to our branch here and get my office ready. Do not tell anyone I will be in; I want to inspect for myself what has been going on with them having preparations if demanded tell them you came for a document that I had left here and urgently needed."

"Yes, Clan Leader."

"Oh, and tell the rest of the group to come to the field and meet me, we have to discuss what our training program will be and who will be assigned to each group. When you finish with the task, I have given you meet us there."

After Alisha left, I went and took a quick shower before meeting up with the group. I decided on gym shorts and a sports bra with a jacket to cover up.

I got to the field and saw everyone was there.

" I know for a fact that the training program of this pack is good, but still I would like for everyone to observe tomorrow and see what each pack member lacks or what is their strength so we can see what strategies we can come up with. With what has happened today we didn't get the time to train, so everyone Do your designated training. Since territory is two times smaller than ours, we will double the number of laps that is to be done, and no grumbling."

I did 500 push-ups, 500 sit-ups, and other physical exercises, I did one-on-one combat then finally had everyone come at me while I fought them. It was as grueling as usual but still refreshing.

After dismissing everyone I decided to stop by the kitchen to get some water. When I got there, I saw an unfamiliar person there. "Who are you?" I asked, "I am the cook here Clan Leader Parker."

I realized that the pack must have hired him to help with the cooking after I left otherwise, they wouldn't have kept him, or it could just be no one wanted to help with the cooking.

"OK, well could you pass me a bottle of water?"

"Why of course."

On the way to my room, I was thinking about how the pack had changed since I was gone. I reached my room and opened the door. I got a surprise and I wasn't sure it would be the most pleasant.

Matthew's POV

To say I was surprised would be a huge understatement, I was completely baffled. The weak little runt turns out to be a phoenix, one of the most powerful supernaturals in the world. I regret rejecting her, I mean common, who wouldn't want to have a mate who could just burn your enemies for you?

I decided to go to her room and get her back. She used to be the weakest link in the pack, I must have to give her one of my signature smirks that gets all the girls swooning, her following her nature will make her fall for me in an instant.

I followed her scent until I found her room, it was meticulously kept, I checked her wardrobe to see what kind of clothes she wore, and her outfits were a big upgrade in comparison to what she wore before. I rubbed my scent all over the room to ensure that if any male they would know who they would mess with.

I was exploring the room when I heard her steps coming closer. When she opened the door, I expected her to be surprised, ask me what I was doing and I would give her my explanation then forgive me and run into my arms.

But she did something beyond my expectations, using her flames on me causing me to be frozen and whimper.

"Why did you freeze? Aren't we mates? Shouldn't you be running in arms saying you love me?"

Sam's POV

As I got closer to my room, I sensed an intruder, while I was preparing myself for battle, I realized that it was just Beta Matthew, A.K.A, my ex-mate, I relaxed and entered my room.

Knowing Matt, he's expecting me to be the weak little girl that would be craving anyone's attention and love, then he will be sorely mistaken, I have grown stronger. I the purple flame to put him on pause. I heard him whimpering while he was frozen. I'm sure he is surprised, especially judging by the stupid questions he asks.

"Why did you freeze? Aren't we mates? Shouldn't you be running in arms saying you love me?"

"I think you should know why, but if not, I will tell: First of all, you are trespassing in my room, and by how it smells you must be trying to mark your territory. Second, you broke the bond, you rejected slept around, so why would be mates? Why would I run in your arms saying I love you especially after I come back 4 years after your rejection? You must be delusional then."

"But why did you come back if it isn't to see us?" He asked like a two-year-old asking why he couldn't have candy, and it wasn't cute.

"I came because the council asked it of me knowing my clan has some of the most elite warriors, fighters, trainers, and trackers in the world. I am not here for you it’s as simple as that. If you ever enter my quarters again, I will show you hell, you’ll be begging for your life by then.” I release him push him out of my room and slam the door shut.

“What a tiring day," I murmur as I get in the shower.
