Anna

A month later.

Stella was right. This was a mistake. I shouldn’t have gone through with it. But I had thought my obligation to my pack had made me stronger to go on. But now, I felt nothing but guilt.

I stared at the mirror, the little bump on my stomach on display. I couldn’t say anything to anybody. Damon had instructed me to keep it silent between us until it was time to break the news.

My guess was that Sophie didn’t know about the baby yet. Using my baby to blackmail him would make me a monster. And also, I couldn’t let such a monster father my child. No.

That night had me in fantasy land. I had enjoyed my time with Damon. But he had changed after that night. He had gone back to ignoring me. He never came once to check up on me or the child.

Well, I had chosen to be his surrogate. Why should he care about me? I had been stupid, and now I felt nothing but regret.

I placed my hand on the little bump as my eyes fell on it. My child. What was I going to do? Damon was goin

DamonWhat was that feeling? Just then before Isaiah had called me out. I felt something strange. Like someone I knew was in danger. Could it be Sophie? No. She was at home with my parents. My dad would protect her if anything happened. Then who was it? Anna. It had to be. I’d never felt that before, and I could tell that there was more to it. I had to get back to her. I had to find her before it was too late. “Then come at me, Alpha. Let’s see what you’ve got,” Isaiah teased. I smiled as I stared at him, cracking my knuckles. “Alright, buddy. You’re about to get the beating of your life.”I rushed towards him with Rohan’s words catching me. “Damon! Wait!” He yelled but I didn’t listen. I swung a fist at him, but he pulled away neatly before grabbing my hand and swinging me away. I landed on one of the pillars roughly before falling face down to the tiled floor. “I told you,” I heard Isaiah say. “You don’t stand a chance.”I looked up as I picked myself from the ground slowly. Rohan Isaiah knew we were coming. But how? My heart was throbbing hard against my chest as I stared at Damon and Dayton. We weren't sure if we were supposed to step out. It could be a trap for all we know. There was no way he could have known that we were coming for him. “Come on,” Isaiah called impatiently. “I could smell your mutt scent when you three stepped into the opera.”Well, that explained everything now. If he had such a strong sense of smell, how much more would Cassian have? He could spot us from miles away, and I wasn’t really keen on being attacked before we got to the mission at hand. “Alright,” Dayton called, stepping out of the shadows. “You got us.”I stared at Damon who mirrored my confusion on his face. Was this a great idea? There was no way in hell. But what were we going to do about this? What choice did we have? I wasn’t sure that they could stand up against him. He could wipe the floor with us according to what the vampire had said. Well, there was only one

AnnaI could feel my body trembling as Caroline called out my name in fear. I couldn’t speak. It felt like my throat was being tied in a knot. My womb cramped so badly that my legs gave off. And how did all this happen? It was because of Damon. Jarred was the first person to rush to me. He grabbed me and lifted me off the chair. The smell of chicken Parmesan filled the air, but nobody was interested in having dinner anymore. Everybody’s attention had turned to me, and I can’t lie, I hated it. Tonight was supposed to be a chill, relaxing night with Caroline and Stella at the dinner table also with Jarred who’d joined us impromptu. Now, I was being rushed out of the house. “Anna! Please be okay!” Stella cried out as Jarred rushed me towards his car. “Stella. I need you to stay back okay?” Caroline asked. “We will take care of Anna. Just make sure that the house is cleaned up.”I was confused as I heard. I was in extreme pain, but I could still better understand what Caroline was sta

DamonThe drive was silent. The night was getting boring. My shoulder still stung from the dying injury. Maybe I’d rushed to get out of bed. The pain had gone until the altercation with the vampires at the VIP section. And that seemed like the only fun we were going to have tonight. I sighed and leaned back on the passenger’s seat. Rohan turned to me. I was surprised that he hadn’t spoken a word to me since we left the club. Back at the club, I couldn’t help but notice that he looked so dominant. And also when the vampire had grown scared of him. I couldn't lie, I felt somewhat jealous of him. What were the vampires going to be scared of when they saw me? What did my enemies think of me? Maybe I was doing things wrong. I brushed such thoughts from my mind. They were here to make me feel sorry for myself. But I wasn’t. Why? Because I knew deep down I was still better than him. I was stronger than Rohan. His reputation was because of the vampires. That was it. When we were done here,

Anna“Mrs. Coleman, I think there’s a big misunderstanding here,” Jarred began with a weird chuckle. Caroline was glaring at him with her hands on her hips. She didn’t look pleased at all, and I didn’t want to offend her. She got that fiery look in her eyes that every mother has. Rohan could be in danger, and we didn’t know where we could find him. I understood her not wanting to lose her son. I touched my stomach and sighed. I would do anything to make sure that my child was safe. And I meant anything. I knew that feeling lingered somewhere deep inside Caroline too. “Tell me where my son is,” she demanded. “Now!”Stella stepped outside the kitchen with a wooden spatula in her hand. She wasn’t wearing the apron anymore which meant that she was done with cleaning the kitchen. “Can’t we do this over dinner?” She asked. Jarred’s eyes darted towards her, and his lips stretched into a warm smile. “Hey, Stella.”I turned to Stella who didn’t look interested one bit. Now there was a su
