“What are you doing here?” He demanded, folding his arms.

His biceps bulged against the sleeve of his black shirt, threatening to snap through the fabric. His green eyes were on me, stern and glittering in the sun. His black hair was ruffled like he had just woken up from sleep. I bet he had.

“You promised me. We had a deal!” I barked through my clenched teeth.

My heart was thumping hard against my chest. Right now, I hated him, but his masculine features were hard to ignore. I didn’t know if he was doing it on purpose, but it was working. I couldn’t focus.

“I don’t know what you’re talking about,” he said, playing dumb.

“Why don’t I go in and tell Sophie there what’s going on?” I threatened. “That should make things interesting.”

His calm demeanor faltered as his brows furrowed, the expression of rage etched on his face.

“You wouldn’t dare!” He growled.

His aura became suffocating and my lungs felt like they were being tied in a knot. My knees buckled threatening to fail
