Sabine
I sighed, opening my eyes. It’s been three days since I woke up and doctor Smith insisted on keeping me here so I completely heal. I wrapped myself into the yellow fluffy blanket that Sasha brought me and got down the bed. I walked towards the window, even though it’s still dark, the forest outside gives me peace. I know it sounds strange but I never felt more like home than I felt here. I know I am sitting in a clinic bed but having a roof over my head and not having to move around every day really made me feel that I belong here.
Mom and Sasha have been taking turns to keep me company, not that I am complaining. It’s nice to have them both around.
My mom now looks happier than ever, she usually comes in the afternoon loaded with books about plants and herbs thanks to the lady she stays with. We get to spend most of
SabineNot long after doctor Smith left me, Sasha came in humming a song. Since I got to meet her she was always a cheerful person who made me laugh but today I feel there is more to it.“Are you ready?” Sasha asked me with a big smile plastered on her face.“I should be thrilled, right?” I surprised myself by saying and she looked at me curiously. “I am freaking out” I added more to myself“Sabine, I already told you, Kade is really nice and he is going to take care of you. He is not going to allow anyone to mistreat you.” Sasha told me and I smiled. She was right, she did say that, countless times. “I went to your mom and she sent you this,” she said, pulling out a bag from her backpack and giving it to me.
Sabine“We need to head out downstairs, when it comes to food, Ella never jokes about it.” Sasha chuckled.“Lead the way, I don’t want to get us in trouble” I whispered, a little concerned and Sasha started laughing.“Trust me, Ella doesn’t hold such power. Anyway, I am sure you are going to be just fine here” Sasha told me, opening the door and heading towards the kitchen.I tried my best to take in all the surroundings so I would be able to find my way back. I wanted to blend with these people, not to be a burden and surprisingly I didn’t find it that difficult.Ella was waiting for us in the kitchen sipping from a big cup.The
KadeEver since I found out Sabine was seventeen and human, I tried to keep my distance. For a moment I hoped maybe even prayed that she was the grey wolf. It made sense somehow in my head, but no, she wasn’t the one I had been waiting for, my mate. Why I had this crush on her, I really can’t put it into words. Even Kieran wants to protect her and developed an obsession for her.I know it wouldn’t be fair for Sabine to get involved with me and then get dumped when my mate decides to come forward and claim me.Every day I went to the pack clinic and talked to Melanie to make sure Sabine was recovering properly. After I made up my mind to have Sabine stay in my house, I decided to go and speak to Jonah and be the bigger man. I knew somehow that everything would get complicated but I didn’t care. I felt the need to understand his actions and something told me that it had to be more than met the ey
CordeliaI can’t shake this feeling I have. Something is about to happen and I keep praying to my Gods that we all pull through. I look at the alarm clock that sits on my nightstand. 1:30 am. I sighed, pushing away the warm blanket and headed to the window. The last tarot card reading showed me the Death and the Rebirth card. A shiver passed through my spine remembering the last time this happened. The Moon is shining over the tree line and everything looks so peaceful and perfect. Just like that night. I sighed again for the nth time and moved from the window.I went to the walk-in closet and pulled out a small bag that I brought with me. I only packed a couple of dresses and some personal items that I usually carry with me.
CordeliaWe followed Alex outside in silence. We don’t have to speak to know that we share the same concerns. I hope we are strong enough to help them.As we walked towards the corner of the house, shirtless men were fighting one or more of these creatures. Some of them throw a suspicious glaze but it’s not the time to stop. We are aware of the risks, exposing our secrets to them, but we have to do it in order to protect Sabine. At the end of the day, secrets don’t matter, everything we do it’s to keep her safe.Alma squeezed my hand, bringing me back to the hard reality. I placed the candle I was holding in front of us and with a twist of fingers it lit rapidly. Carefully I took out the small sage bunch from my pocket and lifted it in the air. This is my gift to Mother Nature, so
SabineI kept tossing and turning in the bed waiting for sleep to come. For some unknown reason I feel my body burning. I pushed away the soft blanket trying to cool off myself. The feeling I had for the last couple of months it’s back in the pit of my stomach, making me feel restless. I check the clock I have on the nightstand and a sight leaves my mouth. It’s a little bit after one in the morning. As I walked towards the window, rushed steps outside my door made me change direction.“Danger is coming” Inna's voice filled my head and I don’t know if I should be happy that she is back or worried about what she said.“Inna” I squealed happily. “I am so glad you are back. I was so worried about you” I told her honestly.“Really” she snorted back and I felt disappointed. Couldn’t she feel that I was honest?“Alex, you need to be careful” I heard Ella’s worried voice coming from the hallway. “Ella, stop arguing with me and do as I say” Alex's angry voice ma
KadeWhy the sudden attack? I had no idea. I thought I wiped those crazy dogs from the face of the Earth. I guess I was wrong. For someone who doesn’t have a leader or a pack, too many were now trying to mess up with me. A growl left my chest annoyed while Kieran continued to run, stepping over the branches. No matter who they were, I would never let them conquer what’s mine.I got to the northern border where Isaac was waiting for me in a blink of an eye. He was talking to the men trying to come up with a plan in case it took us longer to get to them. A sigh of relieved escape from his mouth when he felt my presence.“Alpha, thank the Goddess, you are here” he mind linked me and I raised an eyebrow.“What, you thought we are going to let you have all the fun” I shut back and all the wolves started laughing. “What’s the latest?” I asked, looking around trying to assess the situation myself.“They are a little over a hundred,” Isaac replied quickly.
KadeI sighed, pushing away the laptop, still not convinced about these electric fences that everyone seemed to use for defending their properties. I looked over my notes with ideas I picked from my research but nothing seemed good enough to keep the rogues away from my territory. The noise coming from my stomach reminded me that I skipped breakfast this morning. Last night after I sent Sabine and the she-wolves back to their homes, I stayed and helped my men to clean and dispose of the rogue's corpses. It didn’t seem right to me to have my men do it alone, while I went to rest. By the time we finished the sun was already up and my sleep was already gone. Despite Ella’s pleading to go and have breakfast, I decided to use the quiet time to do some research. I knew the pack business had to be delayed since I was not in the mood to make decisions.I looked over my notes before I mind linked Alex and Stefan to set up a meeting. There were some things that I w
