12. The Devil was Tempting

That night I went to my bed at half-past eleven, feeling extremely exhausted. Thankfully no one discovered my gender yet, with that thought in mind, I settled on my bed and closed my eyes.

My phone pinged with notification. I ignored it and raised my comforter to my nose. I felt like I was floating on clouds.

My phone pinged with another notification, making me groan. Come on, give me a break, I was exhausted to my bones. I rolled on my stomach and reached for my phone. My eyes were drooped due to sleepiness.

I opened my phone and my eyes stung with the little light that emitted from its screen. I usually put my phone in a dark mood and today was no exception but still, it affected my eyes. After my eyes got adjusted to the light, I opened the message clumsily. It was from my dear boss, it read,
