Syria’s POV

“We’re here.”

The moment I stepped out of the car, my heart started pounding so fast it felt like it was going to jump out of my chest.

I can’t believe this. We captured him.

My hands were sweaty, and I didn’t even realize I was holding my breath until Kael touched my hand.

I froze and looked at him.

“This is real,” he said softly, locking eyes with me. He probably noticed I’m thinking so deep.

“Everything’s real. You’re not dreaming, okay?”

“Yeah, I know,” I muttered, lowering my head and staring at the ground.

My voice came out shaky. It wasn’t that I doubted him.

“It’s just… I had waited for this moment for so long. Too long. And now that it was finally happening, I wasn’t sure if I could handle it.”

Then I stared at him, “I just hope he gets punished for what he did.”
