Syria’s POV

“Bennett! Where’s the tablet?!” Novene shouted, her voice was sharp and urgent.

He scrambled to grab the tablet from the table. His hands were fumbling slightly in his rush. Without a word, he handed it to her.

I stood there watching everything unfold. My heart was pounding so hard it felt like it was going to burst out of my chest.

I was extremely nervous. I had a strong feeling about what that tablet contained. It was likely the surveillance footage. And if it was, then I was in serious trouble.

I knew I had entered the hotel room. There was no denying that. If they saw it on the footage, if they played that video right now in front of everyone, I could be blamed.

I was sweating. My hands were shaking. My body was frozen, but my mind was in chaos.

Novene turned to face Uncle Steven. She didn’t even glance at anyone else. With a bold stare, she raised the tablet in front of him.

“Father, look. It’s right here. This is it-!”
