Syria’s POV

I quickly stepped inside my room and shut the door behind me. For a moment, I stood there, smiling to myself.

The satisfaction I felt was indescribable.

Uncle was finally doing something right, something just for me.

He was punishing those two snakes. And Aunt Arabella? She was on her knees, crying and begging her husband to spare her children. Her face was bruised, swollen, and soaked with tears as she pleaded over and over again.

“Father, please! Please!” That was Novene’s voice. Shaky, terrified, and desperate.

I could hear it echoing from the hallway.

But instead of feeling pity, I felt justified. This was what they deserved. All of it. Every scream, every sob, every bruise…they were paying for what they did to me.

For years, I endured everything they threw at me. The insults, the humiliation, the cold stares, the isolation. I was the shadow in their perfect little world, treated like I didn’t exist or worse like I was a burden.
