Syria’s POV

I quickly stepped inside my room and shut the door behind me. For a moment, I stood there, smiling to myself.

The satisfaction I felt was indescribable.

Uncle was finally doing something right, something just for me.

He was punishing those two snakes. And Aunt Arabella? She was on her knees, crying and begging her husband to spare her children. Her face was bruised, swollen, and soaked with tears as she pleaded over and over again.

“Father, please! Please!” That was Novene’s voice. Shaky, terrified, and desperate.
