I finally snapped.

I couldn’t hold it in anymore. I straightened myself, pulling away from him. He was shocked from what I did. He looked up at me.

“Syria, what’s wrong?” he asked, staring at me with confusion in his eyes.

I met his stare. Mines were steady and unblinking.

My voice came out firm when I spoke with authority.
