Steven’s POV

“Get inside!”

The guard shoved me hard into the cell. I stumbled forward, nearly losing my balance before I caught myself against the damp wall.

The cell smelled like rot and metal. It was loud with shouts, banging, and mocking laughter from every corner.

The guard smirked.

“We have a new member here. Say hi, everyone!”

Voices rose from the other cells. Some men stepped closer to their bars, grinning at me like wolves watching a fresh prey.

“Don’t even think about starting trouble here,” one of them said, “We’re all under control. This is one of the Majesty’s operations.”
