Ro writhed around before she woke up with a jolt.

She sat rigidly, eyes stoic with fear as she felt a snakey line of her essence drain out of her, an almost intangible yet palpable feeling of something leaving her body overwhelmed her, yet she felt something strange settle in her. Something icy cold, from the scalp of her head down to the spine on her back.
