ВойтиLara's POV
It was Reis.
My breath hitched as I saw the person standing before us.
The entire school felt like it was against me, their eyes piercing through me being the centre of attraction.
I couldn't take this anymore and the first thing I wanted to do was to take my phone.
“ Return that phone back” I shouted but he didn't listen.
“ What's causing the commotion?” he inquired, his brown eyes fixed on me who was surrounded by a group of students.
“ What's this guy doing here?” That was the question burning through my mind.
My tears were flowing like a waterfall when I saw him,a smile slowly rising on his face.
I held great disdain for that smile . He was the perfect groom with ladies crushing all over him.
“ What are you doing here Reis? “ his girlfriend Bella rushed over to his side the moment she caught the sight of my phone in his hand.
His hands stretched out, raising my phone in the air .
“ Come back to me and I will give you the phone unscathed “ his expression was stern but oddly gentle.
“ Why would I come back to a devil like you?” I inquired, exhaling to calm my trembling hands.
“ You know how much I care about you,” he said, reaching for the box of chocolates he had carefully prepared for me.
My thoughts raced.
“ Why on earth will he bring gifts for me ?”
Something was off somewhere yet this didn't feel right.
It was my favourite but I wasn't interested in his gifts anymore.
“ You can do whatever you want I don't care “I spoke up tearing his heart into pieces, my words tearing the flesh apart even if he tried to hide it.
“ You cannot find anyone better than me do you know how many girls are dying just to be with me “ he said proudly boasting of his personality.
“ Then be with them my feelings had died long ago so stop trying because this won't work”he blinked his eyelids.
He was stunned.
“ You are just trying to grab my attention right, you can't be dead serious about this?” he asked but my tone was firm .
“Then your phone…..his tone changed low and dangerous.
“ Please don't do this”I begged knowing my father would be highly worried sick without my phone.
“Then kneel” his voice was cold echoing in the room, his eyes keenly staring at me .
I couldn't believe my ears.
“ Why should I kneel? This is my personal property not yours” I rolled my eyes which were swollen as I had been crying for a long time.
But he smiled, staring at the phone in his hand. He was feeling more satisfied seeing me humiliated like this.
I felt like I was trapped in some kind of surreal nightmare because I never imagined Reis, the boy I once knew, would do this to me.
You will not stop haunting me “ my voice tight with exhaustion.
Something inside me twisted it was a sadness so thick I could barely breathe.
“ You should be thanking me” he sneered, his voice a cruel high pitch which cut through me like ice.
My jaw locked, my fists clenched at his words. I could feel a scream climbing its way to my throat but I swallowed it hard. He just spoke like I was a plaything he could order around.
“ What?I should kowtow to you “ his hand brushed against his girl Bella whose hair leaned on her shoulders.
I spat at him in disgust irritated by the sensual feeling.
Suddenly,my phone slipped from his hand which fell crashing to the ground with its fragments scattered all over the floor.
“ What did you just do? “ I asked, my ribs tearing apart seeing my phone broken.
“ My hand slipped”a smile creeping to the edge of his lips intensifying my disappointment, his eyes darting between me and others.
“ Fix this” I screamed at him.
“How dare you “he slapped me taking a step forward, his voice dropping trying to enforce some sort of authority.
No one has ever hit me, not even my family.
“ You slapped me?” Everyone gasped in surprise .
“ Yes I did and you can't do anything “ he said with a proud look on his face.
“ You will regret this no matter what and your lives will be miserable” I threatened venomously with rage boiling over me.
“ You are not better than me and not certainly beautiful than my girlfriend “ I was at loss of words as we both gazed into each other eyes.
The words pricked me a thousand times,my chest heaved up and down in rage wrapping his arms and whispering affectionate words into Isabella ears whose cheeks flushed red.
I turned away and stormed out angrily refusing to look back. The school field was empty while I curled up in a corner with tears flowing down my cheeks.
I heard some footsteps approaching and quickly used my fingertips to wipe my stained cheeks which were red as if I had been stung by a bee.
“ Lara “ I heard a voice calling out to me.
A figure emerged from the shadows
Stay still" he commanded in a cold tone while giving me a devilish smile.
"Damn it, "I cursed inwardly under my breath, realizing that he was not ready to leave.
My heart was spinning faster as I wanted him to leave because he was giving me a hard time already.
There was an awkward moment of silence between us.
“ How did you know my name?” I asked curiously, knowing I was an outcast in this school.
“ Nothing goes in and out of the school without my knowledge just like what happened now” he explained calmly .
“ Who are you?” I demanded to know but a smirk curved on his lips .
“ Well that's not for you to know” he replied .
“ You must be worried about your father right?” he sat close to me, snapping me out of my thoughts.
“ How did you know?” I was scared to see the guy sitting beside me guessing my thoughts correctly.
Before I could say anything, I saw Bella and her friends appeared lunging forward at me.
“ How dare you humiliate my boyfriend Reis ? You are worthless now no guy will ever want you “ her voice was cold laced with poison.
Before my head could process anything,Bella reached for a pair of scissors in her pocket, its thin edges ripping my uniform.
“ What did you just do now?”I shouted.
“ Nothing just putting you in your place” she answered with a feeling of satisfaction glinting in her eyes.
My uniform was ripped into shreds exposing my outfit underneath.
“ Let's see whether you can study here”a smirk curved on her lips as she walked off with her friends leaving me in shredded fabric and embarrassment.
This year is really bad. Or will I ever get better?
This was the question burning through my mind.
POV: LaraWe left the outpost before the sun climbed fully above the trees. The forest glistened with dew, quiet in that breathless way the world holds just before it wakes. Each step away from the tower felt heavier, as though it resisted letting us go. I glanced back once—the stone walls were already half-swallowed by mist.Eren moved ahead of me, his stride sure and measured. He had tied the river stone to my cloak’s clasp, where it rested against the Seal. Together, the two hummed softly, their vibrations matching the rhythm of my heartbeat. I could feel the energy threading through the air like a quiet song.“Where exactly are we going?” I asked as we followed a narrow trail north.“To the ridge,&rdqu
POV: LaraWhen I woke, the fire had burned down to embers. Pale dawn light filtered through the vines at the cave mouth, painting soft lines across the floor. Eren sat at the entrance, his back straight, eyes fixed on the forest beyond. He hadn’t slept. Somehow, I wasn’t surprised.“How long was I out?” I asked.“Long enough for the rain to stop,” he said without turning. “The river will be swollen. We’ll move while the pack is still searching the lower ridges.”I stretched stiff limbs and pulled the damp cloak tighter around me. The ache in my body felt deeper than fatigue—it was the pull of the Seal, restless even in quiet. Its faint glow brushed my throat,
POV: LaraThe outpost smelled of dust and memory. The stone walls were streaked with moss, the ceiling patched by roots that had forced their way through cracks in the roof. Yet a faint warmth lingered in the air, as if the place still remembered the hands that once built it.Eren found an old lamp and coaxed a flame to life. Its glow chased the shadows into corners, revealing shelves lined with decayed maps, broken weapons, and the ghosts of another time. “This was one of the border stations,” he said. “Your father used it when he patrolled the northern woods.”I ran my fingers over a weathered table. The wood was carved with initials—some deep, others nearly erased. One mark caught the light: A + M. I traced it slowly, my chest tightenin
POV : LaraRain blurred the forest into streaks of silver and shadow. Every branch clawed at my cloak, every root tried to drag me down. My breath came in short bursts, loud against the roar of the storm. Behind me, the horns still wailed and the sound of pursuit.I forced myself forward, splashing through puddles, slipping over moss-slick stones. The Seal’s faint light glimmered through the wet fabric at my throat, guiding me like a living star. Each pulse reminded me that I was alive, but hunted.Lightning ripped open the sky, showing the ridge in the distance—a black line against the pale horizon. I had to reach it before dawn. Reis had said the river lay beyond; safety waited there, if safety even existed anymore.
POV: LaraThe sanctum was built for silence. Every sound—my breath, the scrape of my palms on the floor, even the whisper of cloth—came back to me hollow and small. The walls drank light. Only the faint shimmer of the Seal broke the dark, moving across my skin like liquid silver.Hours bled together. I counted them by the rhythm of my heartbeat, by the drip of water somewhere beyond the door. Each drop sounded like a reminder that the world outside still lived while I sat buried under stone. At first I tried to speak to the guards through the slot in the door. No one answered. Later, I stopped trying. My voice echoed back at me, thin and lonely. When exhaustion finally dragged me down, I dreamed of fire again.&n
POV: LaraMorning arrived with no warmth. A fog settled over the settlement, thick enough that the sun looked like a pale coin behind the clouds. From my window I could see movement in the square—wolves whispering in clusters, their glances darting toward the house where Luther and I were confined.A guard knocked once before opening the door. “The Council summons you,” he said. His voice carried no malice, only fatigue. No one wanted to be the one to touch the girl who glowed.Luther stood at my side as we walked to the hall. He didn’t speak. His silence said enough.Inside, the Council chamber felt smaller than it had yesterday. The Elders sat in a tight semicircle, their faces drawn. Elder M
