Chapter 3
Jacob's POVThe guys and I decided to have dinner at our friend's restaurant. It's been a while since we've been there, maybe a few months. As soon as we stepped into the place, we sensed a beautiful scent of strawberry in the air. Something I haven't felt in a very, very long time. While we wait at the table, the scent gets stronger."What the fuck is that scent ?” I ask."Look." Jordan nudges my arm and points to a small blonde woman talking to leo.Leo. What a kiss ass.My skin crawls seeing whoever this woman is with that guy. By the looks of her uniform, she works here. Soffie always serves us though, we were told that she's the best so our friend has put her with us since day one.As we all stare at her, her eyes suddenly meet ours and quickly retreats back to the floor."Hi, my name is Jessica and I'll be your waitress this evening. May I get you all started on some drinks?" Her voice hits my ears. Such a beautiful voice."Where is our usual waitress?" Ethan asks, eyeing her speciously."Oh she's sick, I think. I'm sorry I can get someone else if you'd prefer." She adorably stutters while looking at the floor."No, we prefer you, Jessica." He says deeply.Good, you feel the same way I do.I don't know what it is about this girl but she's perfect in every way. From her long hair, to her small little feet."Is something wrong? Look at us." Jordan says, not liking the no eye contact. I don't like it either. but I can smell her nervousness. When her eyes shift up to us, I can't help but want to make those pretty blue eyes water with pleasure."That's better.” Jordan subtly praises, causing her to grace us with her plump lips turning into a smile. After we order our drinks, Ethan looks at me knowingly.I know. Pure perfection."Careful. We can't scare her, she's already obviously anxious. Poor girl". Jordan says.Ethan sighs and readjusts himself in his seat. I haven't seen him act like this with someone since the past ten years. Even then, she's nothing like Jessica is.Soft classical music plays as we wait for Jessica to return. The small woman carrying a black tray almost half her size almost slips on her way here multiple times. I prepare myself to help her when she inevitably slips but much to my surprise, she never does.Jessica hands us our drinks, hands slightly shaking."Are you guys ready to order?”"How old are you?" I ask, not being able to help myself. You better be at least eighteen. Her eyebrows furrowed in confusion, "I'm twenty one years old, sir.”Sir. Hmm, Ethan is more of a gentleman than I am.I look at Ethan and notice his smirk, knowing that I'm copying the same one as well as Jordan. He loves the way that sounds out of your mouth, girl.We end up ordering the same thing. I'm not huge on human food, but their steaks are decent enough when it's rare. The way her nose scrunches in disgust humors me.She leaves with our orders with me watching the slight sway of her hips as she walks away."She doesn't know how sexy she is." I said."Who's going to ask for her number?" Jordan asks, already wanting more of Jessica. We both turn to Ethan, knowing he's going to be the one to do it.He shrugs with glass in hand. He's got to be entranced by her, she's just...Jessica quickly returns with our food and red cheeks, her lips are formed downward, making my cold heart flutter.Once she hands us our food, she stands there awkwardly, obviously not knowing what to do. I just realized, she doesn't know who we are and Leo always had Soffie keep us company."Sit." I point to the open seat.Good girl.I look where her line of sight was and see leo. He's the reason why she's so scared right now, what did he do to her?I notice her rubbing her arm, a form of self comfort many humans do.“May I ask why I'm sitting here?” Her voice is soft."Because we asked you to.” Ethan answered quietly. Her eyes widen but she recovers as if he didn't say anything. Her eyes scan everywhere except for us, making me want to punish her.Not now, she's anxious and obviously, we just met.Jordan introduces himself then us. She gives us all a small smile with shy eyes. Her eyelashes brush against her cheekbone as she blinks us away."It's nice to meet you a-all." She says in a small voice.Jessica cringes as Ethan bites into the steak, making me hold in a laugh. She recovers smoothly but not quick enough for me not to notice. Her eyes refuse to meet our gaze. Do we make her that uncomfortable? She begins to rub her arm raw."Do we scare you, girl? " Jordan asks her.She shakes her downturned head. "No sir, why?” Lies, girl . It's okay."You've been rubbing your arm, your skin is turning red." He points to her hand. Her eyes shift to the damage she's done to herself, cheeks heating up at the realization."How long have you worked here? We've never seen you before." I try to distract her from her unnecessary embarrassment."Oh a year." She says as I sip on my drink. Her eyes snap to my neck as I swallow. There's the little vixen."May I ask why you all are considered special guests?”Ethan smirks, leaning in his seat. Curious girl.“We know the owner quite well.” Jordan answers for us.The owner is our friend"Oh. That's cool," she smiles cutely, "I've never met the owner."As soon as we're done eating, Jessica stands from her seat, beginning to clear the plates from the table. One of the glasses slipped on the side of the tray, I could grab it, but what fun would be in that? The glass falls directly on Ethan, ruining his shirt.Oh my God. I'm so sorry. I'm sorry. ' She says fumbling with napkins, patting them on his shirt to soak up the liquid while he sits there staring at her with dilating eyes."Don't worry ab-" He begins to say."Jessica What the hell did you do?" Leo stomps up like a baby up to our table.Mind your mouth, I'll break your jaw. "I-I spilled-" She trembles."I bumped her. It was an accident.”Ethan defends her from him."Jessica is a bit clumsy . I'm sorry sir, she will happily pay for that shirt.” Leo tells him. We're wealthy enough to eat here, you don't think we can afford a thousand ofthe same exact shirt?“No. That's not necessary." Ethan says as his jaw clenches. Glad to know I'm not the only one getting sick of Leo"I don't mind sir, here," she grabs a clean napkin and begins to write on it,“we can set up a payment plan and | can pay for you to have it dry-cleaned.”Ethan was obviously amused that she just handed him her number."I will contact you.”"Jessica, pack your things, you're done here." Leo pushes her away from us. Her head hangs with tears brimming her eyes.Alright, I'm done with you."Leo , meet me outside. I'd like to have a word with you.” I bite back on the bitterness in my tone.He follows me outside along with the other two while Jessica finishes up."Soffie won't call in sick when we are expecting you, I'll make sure of it next time.""It's not about .” Ethan yells."Why would you think it's okay to treat someone the way you treated her? You embarrassed her in front of all those people." Jordan says, seemingly trying to play good cop."She is an embarrassment!" Leo hisses, "This is the umpteenth time she's made a fool of herself here and I'm tired of it. All she is, is something decent to look at.”My fist connects to the wall next to him, cracking the exterior as my lip curls in disgust at the sight of this sad excuse for a manager. Ethan was piercing him with his eyes that are set intensely on him, while Jordan furrows with a raised brow. It's safe to say, we're all pissed.Leo's breath gets caught in his throat with his face going pale.""I…."“Learn when to shut the fuck up!" I connect my fist to his jaw, hearing his guttural groan."Give her the job back, and we won't hurt you." Ethan said nonchalantly.Leo vigorously shakes his head in agreement. The smell of piss invades my nose, making me more irritated. Did he just fucking piss himself?"We have to go, make sure Jessica is kept happy, Leo . Do you understand me?" Ethan says in a threatening tone, making Leo cower away on the concrete with a quick nod.As we drive away, I catch a glimpse of Jessica coming out of the doors."She's beautiful." Jordan says. Hell yeah she is.We've been sharing women for a while now, never more than one night though."She's more than just a one night escapade." I tell them.“Agreed.” Jordan chimes in.Ethan sighs as he drives faster on the highway."What is it?” I ask him."She can't be more than a one night stand, Jacob. What do you want us to do? Date her?""Duh! Why the fuck not?""That will get messy, dumbass. She's human.” He reminds me.So what? Humans are fucking cute. And she's our mate."How about you call her tomorrow and ask her if you could pick her up and take her out to lunch or something. Then decide on whether she can be more than a one night stand.” I suggest.Ethan's jaw clenches as he thinks about it, "fine." He answers curtly.Good. He will see she can't be just a one night thing.Chapter 4Ethan's POV Jessica was a little hesitant on me picking her up when I texted her, now I see why. She doesn't belong here. This area is full of homeless people, drugs, and probably black mold. I watch as two men discreetly exchange money for drugs, making my skin crawl. She deserves better. I pull a cigarette out of my pack and light it. The burn of the menthol travels through my throat, calming my anger from the fact that this beautiful woman is living somewhere so dangerous. Her dirty black hair bounces as she turns to close the door. She checks the time on her phone, looking around to see that it's the time we agreed I'd pick her up at. Flicking my cigarette out the window, I step out of the car. The smile that reaches her eyes when she finally notices me makes me want to just never bring her back to this place. I survey the area as she walks up to me, seemingly not understanding the danger all around her. Once she makes it to my car, she shyly waves. "Hi. Where ar
Chapter 5Jessica's POV Spending time with Ethan was nice ! I've never been so close to someone as handsome, or screams as much authority as him. "How was the date?" Bambi slaps my arm playfully as I plop next to her on the couch. Date? Is that what it was? "I don't think that was a date." I giggle. "Girl, that was definitely a date. I saw him look at you through the window." "How was he looking at me?" I ask, clearly oblivious to him looking at me at all. I'm not much to look at. I don't have the supermodel legs, the toned stomach, the bombshell boobs, or the confidence . “Like he wanted to eat you up.” She winks. My stomach drops, "shut up.” I laugh. "Call him.” An evil smirk grows on Bambi's face. “Heck no! He just left." Her sea green eyes roll to the back of her head as a strangled sound leaves her throat. "I'll do it for you then." She lunges for my phone. I quickly hide it under my body, causing her to tickle me. I thrash around, laughing loudly as I try to ignore he
Chapter 6Jessica's POV On the way to work, Bambi and I had a small little party in her car. Neither of us can sing, but that doesn't mean we won't! Sadly, our time comes to an end as we pull up to the restaurant. I'm happy she's on the same shift as me. Working with her helps time pass faster. "Oh my God, Jessica! Is that their car?" Poppy elongates her arm, pointing to the expensive white car. No, that can't be them. They have to be getting sick of me by now. "Maybe someone just has the same car as Ethan." I shrug. She laughs and follows me to the doors to reveal a pale Leo waiting for us to enter. "Great! You're finally here!" Leo quickly sighs. I look at the clock on the wall and see that I'm ten minutes early. “You have special guests that requested you." Leo says, looking directly at me. "Special guests." Bambi's eyebrows bounce. Is it really them? As Leo moves away, I see all three of them sitting at one of my tables. "Seems like they found a new pet ." Soffie whis
Chapter 7Jordan's POV Jacob and I patiently wait for Ethan to get back with Jessica. Last night we talked about what we would tell her. All the dark secrets that surround us and this home. All the things we could be hunted down for if anyone were to find out. We've been safe for years, for the first time in centuries. Before now, we were always on the move every twenty years or so. Hunters would kill us, humans would murder other humans if they were accused of being what we are, witches try to lure us into their unholy spells, and even our own kind turned on each other. Ethan has never felt what it means to be human, and honestly, I don't remember clearly either. This is the first time I've seen him so infatuated with a woman before, especially a human. All of us are extra hesitant when it comes to humans. Ethan has more control over himself and has had a lot more time to work with Jacob, but I'm still affected by it easily. We came to an agreement that we talk to her about wh
Chapter 8Jessica's POV Run! Get out of here! My feet carry me faster than what my brain is comprehending.I keep looking over my shoulder, making sure they aren't about to kill me. My heart bangs against my chest, my head fills with pressure, and my lungs refuse to breathe in. Once I find the door, I pull as hard as I can, but it's not budging. No, they locked me in here! They're going to kill me! I slide down to the floor, accepting defeat. I'm going to die before I've even lived. Hot tears roll down my face as I shake on the floor. I don't know if it's the adrenaline making me shake, or the coldness of this marble floor. I hear faint yelling coming from upstairs, but I can't make out any of the words. "She's crying!" I hear Jordan yell. My eyes close, expecting them to just hurry up and finish the job. "Girl." I hear Jordan say from in front of me. I refuse to give him the satisfaction of seeing my fear before he kills me. "Jessica" I hear him sit next to me on the floor
Chapter 9Jessica's POV Jacob returns with bags of food. I help him unpack it all on the unnecessary large dining room table. I like this dining room, the feeling it gives is vintage and beautiful. Two chandeliers hang beautifully over the dark wooden table with a pristine white tablecloth. Chairs line around the table, at least thirty chairs surround the table. The walls are off white, adding to the vintage feeling and the few artsy paintings on the walls make it seem like it belongs in a museum. Jacob got a whole menu of food laid out on the table. burgers, fries wings that are red and wings that are regularly fried, onion rings, rice that has green vegetables in it, pizza that has pepperoni and sausage with another pizza that has nothing but cheese, a cheesy spiral pasta.“Why did you get a whole buffet?" I laugh. A smile appears on his face, "I didn't know what you liked, so I got a little of everything.” My heart flutters at his thought process. I forgive you for not getti
Chapter 10Jessica's POV I told Bambi about my day, leaving out the part about how I like these werewolves and they saved me from a beast in the forest. She'd only freak out if she knew, or call me crazy. I'd call me crazy too if I were her. She then told me about her time with Theo. All the details screech in my ears as she talks about the dirty things they've done. I'm happy that she's happy, but I don't need to know how many times they had sex and in how many positions. Over the next few days, I've been texting all three of the guys. Ethan said that Jacob stole it off his phone then just gave it to Jordan to make him stop begging. I don't mind one bit though, I'm happy that I'm able to talk to all of them. It especially helps pass the time when it's a slow day at work. Over these few days, I've also come to the conclusion that I do really like them. If they wanted to kill me, they would've already done it. If they didn't care about me, then they would've let me die when I wa
