Chapter 3

Jacob's POV

The guys and I decided to have dinner at our friend's restaurant. It's been a while since we've been there, maybe a few months.

As soon as we stepped into the place, we sensed a beautiful scent of strawberry in the air. Something I haven't felt in a very, very long time.

While we wait at the table, the scent gets stronger.

"What the fuck is that scent ?” I ask.

"Look." Jordan nudges my arm and points to a small blonde woman talking to leo.

Leo. What a kiss ass.

My skin crawls seeing whoever this woman is with that guy. By the looks of her uniform, she works here. Soffie always serves us though, we were told that she's the best so our friend has put her with us since day one.

As we all stare at her, her eyes suddenly meet ours and quickly retreats back to the floor.

"Hi, my name is Jessica and I'll be your waitress this evening. May I get you all started on some drinks?" Her voice hits my ears. Such a beautiful voice.

"Where is our usual waitress?" Ethan asks, eyeing her speciously.

"Oh she's sick, I think. I'm sorry I can get someone else if you'd prefer." She adorably stutters while looking at the floor.

"No, we prefer you, Jessica." He says deeply.

Good, you feel the same way I do.

I don't know what it is about this girl but she's perfect in every way. From her long hair, to her small little feet.

"Is something wrong? Look at us." Jordan says, not liking the no eye contact. I don't like it either. but I can smell her nervousness.

When her eyes shift up to us, I can't help but want to make those pretty blue eyes water with pleasure.

"That's better.” Jordan subtly praises, causing her to grace us with her plump lips turning into a smile.

After we order our drinks, Ethan looks at me knowingly.

I know. Pure perfection.

"Careful. We can't scare her, she's already obviously anxious. Poor girl". Jordan says.

Ethan sighs and readjusts himself in his seat. I haven't seen him act like this with someone since the past ten years. Even then, she's nothing like Jessica is.

Soft classical music plays as we wait for Jessica to return.

The small woman carrying a black tray almost half her size almost slips on her way here multiple times. I prepare myself to help her when she inevitably slips but much to my surprise, she never does.

Jessica hands us our drinks, hands slightly shaking.

"Are you guys ready to order?”

"How old are you?" I ask, not being able to help myself.

You better be at least eighteen.

Her eyebrows furrowed in confusion, "I'm twenty one years old, sir.”

Sir. Hmm, Ethan is more of a gentleman than I am.

I look at Ethan and notice his smirk, knowing that I'm copying the same one as well as Jordan.

He loves the way that sounds out of your mouth, girl.

We end up ordering the same thing. I'm not huge on human food, but their steaks are decent enough when it's rare. The way her nose scrunches in disgust humors me.

She leaves with our orders with me watching the slight sway of her hips as she walks away.

"She doesn't know how sexy she is." I said.

"Who's going to ask for her number?" Jordan asks, already wanting more of Jessica. We both turn to Ethan, knowing he's going to be the one to do it.

He shrugs with glass in hand. He's got to be entranced by her, she's just...

Jessica quickly returns with our food and red cheeks, her lips are formed downward, making my cold heart flutter.

Once she hands us our food, she stands there awkwardly, obviously not knowing what to do. I just realized, she doesn't know who we are and Leo always had Soffie keep us company.

"Sit." I point to the open seat.

Good girl.

I look where her line of sight was and see leo. He's the reason why she's so scared right now, what did he do to her?

I notice her rubbing her arm, a form of self comfort many humans do.

“May I ask why I'm sitting here?” Her voice is soft.

"Because we asked you to.” Ethan answered quietly.

Her eyes widen but she recovers as if he didn't say anything.

Her eyes scan everywhere except for us, making me want to punish her.

Not now, she's anxious and obviously, we just met.

Jordan introduces himself then us. She gives us all a small smile with shy eyes. Her eyelashes brush against her cheekbone as she blinks us away.

"It's nice to meet you a-all." She says in a small voice.

Jessica cringes as Ethan bites into the steak, making me hold in a laugh. She recovers smoothly but not quick enough for me not to notice.

Her eyes refuse to meet our gaze. Do we make her that uncomfortable? She begins to rub her arm raw.

"Do we scare you, girl? " Jordan asks her.

She shakes her downturned head. "No sir, why?” Lies, girl . It's okay.

"You've been rubbing your arm, your skin is turning red." He points to her hand.

Her eyes shift to the damage she's done to herself, cheeks heating up at the realization.

"How long have you worked here? We've never seen you before." I try to distract her from her unnecessary embarrassment.

"Oh a year." She says as I sip on my drink. Her eyes snap to my neck as I swallow. There's the little vixen.

"May I ask why you all are considered special guests?”

Ethan smirks, leaning in his seat. Curious girl.

“We know the owner quite well.” Jordan answers for us.

The owner is our friend

"Oh. That's cool," she smiles cutely, "I've never met the owner."

As soon as we're done eating, Jessica stands from her seat, beginning to clear the plates from the table.

One of the glasses slipped on the side of the tray, I could grab it, but what fun would be in that?

The glass falls directly on Ethan, ruining his shirt.

Oh my God. I'm so sorry. I'm sorry. ' She says fumbling with napkins, patting them on his shirt to soak up the liquid while he sits there staring at her with dilating eyes.

"Don't worry ab-" He begins to say.

"Jessica What the hell did you do?" Leo stomps up like a baby up to our table.

Mind your mouth, I'll break your jaw. "I-I spilled-" She trembles.

"I bumped her. It was an accident.”Ethan defends her from him.

"Jessica is a bit clumsy . I'm sorry sir, she will happily pay for that shirt.” Leo tells him.

We're wealthy enough to eat here, you don't think we can afford a thousand of

the same exact shirt?

“No. That's not necessary." Ethan says as his jaw clenches. Glad to know I'm not the only one getting sick of Leo

"I don't mind sir, here," she grabs a clean napkin and begins to write on it,

“we can set up a payment plan and | can pay for you to have it dry-cleaned.”

Ethan was obviously amused that she just handed him her number.

"I will contact you.”

"Jessica, pack your things, you're done here." Leo pushes her away from us. Her head hangs with tears brimming her eyes.

Alright, I'm done with you.

"Leo , meet me outside. I'd like to have a word with you.” I bite back on the bitterness in my tone.

He follows me outside along with the other two while Jessica finishes up.

"Soffie won't call in sick when we are expecting you, I'll make sure of it next time."

"It's not about .” Ethan yells.

"Why would you think it's okay to treat someone the way you treated her? You embarrassed her in front of all those people." Jordan says, seemingly trying to play good cop.

"She is an embarrassment!" Leo hisses, "This is the umpteenth time she's made a fool of herself here and I'm tired of it. All she is, is something decent to look at.”

My fist connects to the wall next to him, cracking the exterior as my lip curls in disgust at the sight of this sad excuse for a manager. Ethan was piercing him with his eyes that are set intensely on him, while Jordan furrows with a raised brow. It's safe to say, we're all pissed.

Leo's breath gets caught in his throat with his face going pale.

""I…."

“Learn when to shut the fuck up!" I connect my fist to his jaw, hearing his guttural groan.

"Give her the job back, and we won't hurt you." Ethan said nonchalantly.

Leo vigorously shakes his head in agreement. The smell of piss invades my nose, making me more irritated. Did he just fucking piss himself?

"We have to go, make sure Jessica is kept happy, Leo . Do you understand me?" Ethan says in a threatening tone, making Leo cower away on the concrete with a quick nod.

As we drive away, I catch a glimpse of Jessica coming out of the doors.

"She's beautiful." Jordan says. Hell yeah she is.

We've been sharing women for a while now, never more than one night though.

"She's more than just a one night escapade." I tell them.

“Agreed.” Jordan chimes in.

Ethan sighs as he drives faster on the highway.

"What is it?” I ask him.

"She can't be more than a one night stand, Jacob. What do you want us to do? Date her?"

"Duh! Why the fuck not?"

"That will get messy, dumbass. She's human.” He reminds me.

So what? Humans are fucking cute.

And she's our mate.

"How about you call her tomorrow and ask her if you could pick her up and take her out to lunch or something. Then decide on whether she can be more than a one night stand.” I suggest.

Ethan's jaw clenches as he thinks about it, "fine." He answers curtly.

Good. He will see she can't be just a one night thing.
