Chapter Three: Beginning Of Last Senior Year 2

Janet fought hard not to laugh. Her best friend never failed; it was certain.

Old Mrs Lara stared at the two carefully. They could not be acting. They were both of reputable behaviour and all excellent students. She smiled kindly and dipped her hand into her handbag. Soon, she produced a card of drug with black coloured tablets.

"Take it, my dear. I am very sorry. I bought it for my grandchild, but it's not her period yet. You can as well, have it." She said, reaching out for Juliet's palm.

"Oh no, old Mrs Lara. It is fine. I took some drugs. My friend is very thoughtful. Right now, I am craving for a bite." Juliet said in a pained voice.

"Argh, daughter. It is alright. Have it, just incase of next time. And if you don't meet breakfast, come back and meet me. I will personally send you with a note to the kitchen department." Old Mrs Lara said, forcing the card of drug into Juliet's clenched fist.

"Thank you so much, old Mrs Lara." Juliet said, her hand still on her stomach.

"Go now, quickly. And Jane, you better look after your best friend. One good turn deserves another." Old Mrs Lara said.

The two friends ran out of the dormitory. They did not stop until they had put two blocks between them and the female hostel.

"Great acting dexterity, Lady Juliet." Jane complimented.

"You should pay me a thousand pounds to learn from me, Lady Jane." Juliet replied.

"You witch! Take up a riffle and go rob the streets!" Jane swore.

Juliet laughed loudly, her laughter reverberating.

"Now that I have gotten us out of that mess, we need to decide quickly. Are we going for food?" She asked after her laughter became less violent.

"Girl! We are eating bread and fried eggs, with our favourite Indian tea! Let's get going. If you are not coming, count me out. I can't afford to miss." Jane said excitedly, already heading for dinning Hall.

Juliet quickly followed her friend. while they walked in the busy streets of the college, they could not help admitting that almost all the students were back.

"I don't like it, though. I like it most, when we are about three thousand. Now that we are over five thousand, I can't spare myself the noise and buzz from the lower forms." Juliet said.

Alot of students were in the streets, most headed for the dinning area. The dining area was made up of four halls. Each hall belonged to a house. In other words, they were four houses in Reekfield college and students ate according to their houses. Juliet and Jane were members of Murphy's house. Murphy's hall was the first by the left. They left the broad street and took the path that led to Murphy's hall. Hundreds of students were on the path. Many were freshers, each excited and eager to see what the school offered on Monday mornings for breakfast.

"How is your father's health? I nearly forgot to ask." That was Jane.
