MasukLily’s pov.
I wake up early in the morning to the sounds of boards creaking. I can tell they are getting closer to my bedroom door. My ears strain as I listen to the boards moving from someone’s heavy footsteps. The steps finally get closer until someone opens my door, I can smell that it’s Raya. It's hard to miss her expensive, over-bearing smell of perfume. She keeps creeping closer until I speak out, not wanting her in my space. “What the fuck are you doing in my room, Raya,” I say in a deadly whisper, letting my anger show. “Holy shit! You scared me, Lily! I just came to check on you, I didn’t mean to wake you up, I just didn’t get a chance to talk to you last night, you stormed out pretty quickly and I tried giving you space but I can’t anymore.” She speaks out, sounding honest… Do I want to talk to her? Not really. Should I talk to her? Probably. “What do you want?” I say simply, not really caring, but knowing I need to get this conversation over with sooner than later. She sighs before beginning “Lily, I’m sorry, trust me I am. We’ve been best friends since we were both little girls and I don’t want something like this to come in between us! I trust you and love you. I don’t want to lose you Lily.. you need to know that i always wanted to tell you, your mom wouldn’t allow it tho and said to my mom if I was going to try and tell you she’d move you away, never to see us again. I had to keep my mouth shut I swear!” She pleads, her hands clasped together as she stares at me with vulnerable eyes. I honestly don’t know why but I don’t even really care. It’s hard to care when I just found out my entire life was a lie. “Raya… this feels like betrayal. I am not ready to forgive you and want to be left alone. Bye” I say bluntly, wanting her so badly to just leave me alone. She looks shocked but nods her head slowly and walks out, surprisingly respecting my wishes. I sigh but get up because I guess I’m awake now. I grab some clothes for the day and head for the shower, when I’m in there I do my business and wash my hair. Showering is the one thing I always do, no matter what. It’s like I find peace there. After I am done I grab a towel and dry off leaving my hair to dry on its own, I find my stuff and get dressed applying light makeup. I grab my phone and see about five messages from Alexander. Fuck I shouldn’t have agreed to this. I should’ve just given him a fake number and gone on about my days. Ignoring his presence and the bond between us. Alexander: Hey, Chloe! Can’t wait to see you today. What time are you coming here? I have a meeting and something else after that I need to do, hopefully around three you could come? I’m at the blue moon pack. “Chloe” : Hey, Alex. Yes I can come at three for an hour or so. Just a quick reply. I'll be there for an hour and that’s it. It’s already seven, I just have to make it through this day. Hopefully we can reject him easily… I go downstairs and see Raya is still here talking to my mom, making my eyes widen in shock. I thought she respected what I wanted! That she’d leave me alone! “What the fuck are you doing here still, I said I don’t forgive you and don’t want you here!“ I all but shouted at her, my anger visible at the way my eyes glared at her. She jumped out of her chair scrambling for her stuff and said a quick “I’m sorry” before running out the door with tears in her eyes. My mother went to say something but I put my hand up, glaring at her before walking away. I can hear her crying, right now though isn’t about her, or feeling bad for her. It’s about how my life was a lie. How my father is alive, out there searching for me. How he can’t even know about where I am. How I can’t even tell him I want him in my life. I have to get ready to go out, and mentally prepare myself for this… I should’ve never agreed to go see that “mate” of mine. I should’ve told him I was busy and would try and make time for him soon. Instead I have to go talk to him, and somehow figure out how to tell him I don’t want the bond between us. I make quick work of grabbing everything I need, making sure it’s only a bag full of stuff, I pull my clothes on making sure they are stretchy and easy to run with, I am not a very good runner but I will train and get stronger for Sapphire, right now I just need to listen to her and figure out how to deal with this mate problem. ‘Just trust me Lily, I am older than you think.’ Sapphire says vaguely, chuckling slightly as I roll my eyes. We leave the house without even a word to our mom, or a glance, I’m to angry right now to even look at her… Sapphire and I just go over the basics about how mates are sacred, cherished bonds between two soulmates. That we will eventually find our fated mate and the ‘goddess’ put this man in our path for a reason. Even if we’ll never truly know the answer to why. I messaged Alexander letting him know I was almost there but still haven’t even received a message back yet. I mutter to myself about turning around but Sapphire forces me to keep going. I arrive at his pack's gates and let the guards know I am here to see the alpha, my mate and without question they let me in. I’m a bit surprised but maybe Alexander had told everyone here about me… I’m showed the pack house and go inside the front door, an omega leads me towards his office, not saying a single word. I walk behind them, my hands folded in front of me. Just as we get closer I can hear something happening inside. Within a minute me and the omega both can hear it, also a lot more clearly which is obviously someone fucking in there. Me and Sapphire laugh and think this is honestly for the best, the easiest way to reject him. Without hesitation I push the door with a harsh shove startling whoever is inside. “What the actual fuck!” Alexander starts yelling before he notices who I am and his whole face goes pale, “C-Chloe!” He stutters, trying to pull his pants up as he reaches for me. For more than a moment I forgot that my hair was red and I had a totally different identity right now. “Alexander,” I say back simply, clicking my tongue in disgust. He’s panicking now looking at the chick- wait. That’s Raya. And she looks pissed, glaring at me with a smirk on her face, like she just won. “Do I know you?” She says, looking me up and down suspiciously. For a second I thought she might notice it was me, Lily. But she didn’t say anything else. Alexander goes to say something but I cut him off. ‘Just use our fake name to reject him, say ‘I, Chloe reject you, Alexander, as my mate’ and it should work, trust me,’ Sapphire whispers in my mind, giving me strength with her presence. “No need, Alexander. I, Chloe reject you, Alexander, as my mate. “ Sapphire and I say, instantly feeling the tiny thread of our bond snap. I sigh in relief, feeling like a weight was lifted from my shoulders… “Goodbye, Alexander and his mistress!” I say in a sing song voice. Laughing as Raya looked like she was gonna lunge at me. but to my surprise Alexander stops her and shakes his head while holding his chest. He looks broken and defeated but this is his problem not mine. He did this to himself… and I didn’t need him anyways. I had a different future out there somewhere.thanks for stopping by my amazing readers!
EPILOGUELily’s pov. “You guys got this! You’ll be fine!” I say to my children as they get ready for their first shift. “I don’t know, mom…” Juniper whispers nervously, biting her fingernails as she looks up at me, “I’m… scared.”“I’m scared too!” Mazikeen and Athena said in unison, their faces pale as they stared at me. “We’ll be fine!” Maddox chuckles and he hugs each one of his sisters tightly. I smile at him, loving how caring and close they all are to each other. They all look at one another, nodding their heads while having a silent conversation between each other. Creed comes up from behind me. His scent invading my nose, making those familiar butterflies erupt in my belly. A smile comes onto my face as I turn my head slightly to look up at him. “They’re scared,” I whisper, watching our quads smile and laugh with each other as they wait for their shifts to come. “They’ll be fine. They’re strong,” he whispers back, squeezing my shoulders reassuringly. Just as Maddox o
Lily’s pov. “If you think you get to walk in here… claiming my mate… you are surely mistaken. Virginia Wood, you are hereby banished from the Black Rainforest tribe, never allowed to step foot on these lands again. If you do not leave on your own, right now, I will drag you off of our lands myself,” Sapphire growls out, taking control over my body. Virginia doesn’t look scared, she looks cocky. She has a smirk on her face while she has her arms crossed against her chest. “I’d like to see you try…” Virginia went to say but Sapphire was already in front of her, holding her by the throat. She let our flames come out, coating our hands, burning Virginia's flesh. She winced but tried to keep her composure, not letting me see her cracks. Sapphire doesn’t say anything, she just drags Virginia behind us, out of the tribe house and towards the tree line. “Stop! Stop!” Virginia scrambles to say, her hands clawing at mine, trying to pry them away from her throat. But Sapphire growls lou
Lily’s pov. I swallow the lump in my throat as I nod my head at my grandmother. Wanting to know if I’m having one or more. More like needing to know. I don’t think I’d be able to handle another multiple pregnancy. My grandmother smiles as she places her hands gently onto my belly, closing her eyes as she concentrates. Making my heartbeat race as I wait for her to talk. “It’s a… girl, one baby,” she says softly, smiling at me as she looks up into my eyes. My heart stutters at the thought of another little girl. Four girls and one boy. “Wow,” Creed whispers from behind me, “another baby girl.”“Are you happy about it?” I whisper, still unsure of his feelings, even my own. “I am,” he smiles, “I’m even more happy it’s just one in there this time!”Everyone laughs after his words, me included. I’m happy it’s one this time too. I don’t think we need anymore babies. One more is perfect…“Happy birthday, Lily and congratulations on your baby girl! Now Glenda check me! Check me!” Ra
Lily’s pov. “You did so good, Creed,” I whisper to my mate as we watch our babies sleep soundly in their bassinets, snuggled together. “That means more to me than you’ll ever know,” he says quietly, looking at me with so much love in his eyes, "I missed you so much, Lily.”“I missed you too…” I whisper back, “even if it only felt like a few hours for me.”Creed chuckles, making me chuckle in return. “Tell me more about that… you haven’t said anything about it to me yet,” Creed says quietly, looking into my eyes with curiosity. I cleared my throat, wrapping my arms around him as I prepared myself for the story. “It was… different?” I laugh, not sure how to explain this to him, feeling all of the emotions I felt there rushing back to me,“I- I was walking next to Sapphire. She wasn’t within me but next to me. As her own form. She led me to the goddess. Who showed me the double sided mirror of Selene. I literally sat there and watched as that omega maid poisoned Maze… I had to wake m
Lily’s pov. “How were they while I was… away?” I asked Raya as she sat beside me with Wren and Aspin in her arms. She smiled down at them before looking towards me, “they were great, honestly. Creed was a little stressed… but I was there, helping as much as I could.”“Thank you, I really appreciate all of your help. And I don’t blame anyone for what happened to Mazikeen… it was a desperate attempt. But they did not succeed…” I say softly, looking towards Creed who is forcing me to rest while he cares for the babies. I smile to myself, grateful for my wonderful mate. “I’d do anything for you Lily,” Raya replies while standing up, “I’m going to go help Creed for a bit, it looks like he’s struggling.”We both chuckle as she walks away, placing her sons down to help with Thena, Juni and Maze. Max clutched tightly to Creed’s chest, not wanting him to let him down. Extremely attached to his dad since the last few days I was… gone. “Are you sure I can’t help?” I ask Creed, laughing as
Lily's pov. All I can see is darkness, but all I can think about is how that omega poisoned Mazikeen. How she smiled as she put the poisoned bottle into her mouth. How Mazikeen, so innocent, so clueless had drank it all down greedily, clueless to the dangers. How Creed was too busy to notice…My head turns and spirals as a million thoughts race through my mind. Until suddenly I’m sitting up, gasping for breath. “Mazikeen!” I yelled as I scrambled out of the bed, throwing the cover off of me and running towards the door. I pull the door open fast, breaking it off of its hinges, not caring, just running faster down the hall towards the stairs, knowing they must be at Ryan and Raya’s room. “Queen!” The maid that poisoned Mazikeen shrieked, looking at me with fear before masking it with a fake smile, “the goddess! You’re awake! King-.”She went to ramble on but was cut off by my hand squeezing her throat. “Do you think you could just come in here, poison my child and leave!?” I s
Lily’s pov. I wake up to the sound of Creed yelling. “We’re under attack! The war is beginning!”I groan as I try to sit up and open my eyes. “What’s- what’s going on?” I mumble, feeling my head pounding. “Lily!” Creed says frantically, “war is here… I- I can’t stay with you… I need to go, I ne
Lily’s pov. I scream out in pain as another contraction rips through my body. I’m laying down on my back, legs up as my grandmother checks my cervix again. “You’re nine centimetres dilated!” She says nervously, “I don’t think I can do the c section. If you continue to progress this rapidly they’
Lily’s pov. My eyes shoot open as sweat pours down my body, the nightmare I just had making shivers run through me. It felt so real… so personal. A masked figure had my baby, my baby boy…They escaped with him… and we never saw him again. I wipe the sweat off of my forehead and throw the blanke
Lily’s pov. After I left Creed's office I went straight to Raya’s room. Standing outside of her door I lift my hand and knock. The door opens slowly, Raya peeking outside. “Oh, it’s you!” She laughs, “come in!”“Who did you think I was?” I ask while stepping in. “I don’t know,” she shrugs, “I
