Shadow Organization Headquarters, London.

Camille Vance walked down the silent hallway, the sharp click of her heels echoing against the polished floor.

Each step brought her closer to the end.

Closer to death.

As an elite agent of the Shadow Organisation, Camille had faced bullets, explosions, assassins, and missions that would have broken ordinary people. Fear had never been something she allowed herself to show.

But tonight was different.

Three failed missions had placed her name on the organisation’s death list.

She knew exactly what awaited her behind the final door.

Judgment.

Camille stopped before the black door. For a moment, her gloved fingers rested against the handle. She could turn around. She could run.

But where would she go?

The Shadow Organisation had eyes everywhere.

Taking a slow breath, she pushed the door open.

The room beyond was empty, dark, and intimidating. There were no windows, no furniture, and no visible guards. Only darkness stretched endlessly around her.

Then—

Click.

The lights flickered on.

A screen covering the far wall came to life. One after another, masked faces appeared across it.

The council.

Camille's expression remained cold, but her heartbeat quickened.

She could feel their eyes on her, studying every movement, every breath, silently deciding whether she deserved to leave the room alive.

Finally, one of the masked figures spoke.

“Agent Camille Vance.”

His voice was deep and emotionless.

“You have failed three consecutive missions.”

Camille stood perfectly still.

“According to Shadow Organisation law, repeated failure is punishable by death.”

The words settled over the room like a sentence carved in stone.

Around Camille, several tiny red dots appeared on her body.

Laser sights.

Snipers.

She didn't flinch.

She had always known that failure came with consequences.

Still, knowing something and facing it were two entirely different things.

“Do you have anything to say in your defense?” the masked man asked.

“No.”

Excuses were useless here.

The council valued results, not explanations.

“However, you have been granted one final opportunity to redeem yourself.”

For the first time, Camille's fingers trembled.

Only slightly.

Redemption from the Shadow Organisation was never free.

“What is the mission?” she asked.

“Excellent.”

The screen changed.

A photograph appeared.

Then another.

Then another.

Three men.

Three brothers.

Three names.

“Matteo Rodriguez.”

The first image showed a dark-haired man with an expression so cold that even a photograph seemed dangerous.

“Lucas Rodriguez.”

The second brother wore a faint smile, but his eyes held a calculating sharpness that made Camille immediately suspicious.

“Tristan Rodriguez.”

The youngest looked almost harmless.

Almost.

Camille studied the three photographs carefully.

She had heard of them.

Everyone in the intelligence world had.

The Rodriguez family was not merely wealthy. They were powerful.

Their bloodline was rooted deep within Italy's criminal underworld, with connections reaching into politics, business, private security, and international crime.

Their parents had died under mysterious circumstances several years earlier.

Since then, the three brothers had taken control of the family empire.

And each brother had built his own reputation.

Matteo was known as the ruthless one.

Lucas was the strategist.

Tristan was unpredictable.

Together, they were practically untouchable.

“Your next mission,” the masked man continued, “is the Rodriguez family.”

“What do you want me to do?”

“We believe the Rodriguez family possesses a technological chip capable of accessing one of Shadow Organisation's underground vaults.”

“What is inside the vault?” she asked.

“You do not need to know.”

Of course.

Shadow never revealed more than necessary.

“You also don't know which brother possesses the chip,” the masked man continued. “That is where you come in.”

The photographs disappeared.

A new image appeared on the screen.

A woman.

Beautiful, elegant, and completely unfamiliar.

“From this moment onward, you will receive a new identity.”

“You will enter Italy under that identity and infiltrate the Rodriguez family.”

“Infiltrate how?”

“You will get close to all three brothers.”

“All three?”

“Yes.”

The masked man's voice became colder.

“You will earn their trust. Discover which one possesses the chip. Retrieve it. Then escape.”

Camille stared at the screen.

“And if I fail?”

The room became silent.

The answer was obvious.

Still, the masked man gave it to her.

“Death.”

Camille's jaw tightened.

“You said this mission is worse than death.”

“It is.”

The screen changed again.

A map of Italy appeared.

“You will have no contact with the organisation once you enter the Rodriguez territory. No backup. No extraction team. No second opportunity.”

Camille's eyes remained fixed on the map.

For the first time since entering the room, she felt something dangerously close to fear.

Not fear of dying.

Fear of being trapped.

The Rodriguez brothers were not ordinary targets.

If they discovered who she really was, she wouldn't survive long enough to regret the mistake.

“When do I leave?” she asked.

“Tonight.”

Camille almost laughed.

Of course.

Shadow Organisation never gave its agents time to prepare for death.

The screen displayed her new identity, passport, and everything she would need to become someone else.

“Memorize everything,” the masked man ordered. “From this moment onward, Camille Vance officially does not exist.”

“You have six months to retrieve the chip.”

“Six months?” Camille asked.

“Yes.”

“And after six months?”

“Your true identity will be revealed to the Rodriguez family.”

Camille's breath caught.

That wasn't a deadline.

It was a countdown to her execution.

The masked faces disappeared one after another until only the main figure remained.

“Agent Vance, this is your final chance.”

The screen went black.

Camille remained standing alone in the darkness.

She slowly looked down at the new passport in her hand.

A stranger stared back from the photograph.

A new name.

A new life.

A mission that could either save her or destroy her.

Camille slipped the passport into her coat.

Then she turned toward the door.

For the first time in her life, she understood the true meaning of fear.

This wasn't merely another mission.

It was a game where three brothers held the pieces, the Shadow Organisation held her life, and she had only six months to survive.

Camille Vance walked out of the room.

She didn't know that before the six months were over, the Rodriguez family would change everything she believed about loyalty, betrayal, and herself.
