Brianna POV

This vacation has been so amazing, just me and my thoughts all week. I don't ever want it to end. I mean hey don't get me wrong, of course I miss my family, especially my twin brother. It's hard to be away from him, and even though this isn't the first time we have been apart, it's going to be the longest. He had to go off to Alpha training for a year recently, and mom said I needed to get away. She wants me to relax since I couldn't go and was missing him so much. If i go home, of course, I can see my mom and dad, who I love, but without Brian there, I would rather just stay here forever.

Im out for a walk, not really caring where I go, just walking for something to do. My mom wanted to send me to Paris or Hawaii, but I asked to go to Florida. I'm not sure why I just felt like I needed to be here. I've spent tons of time on the beach. It's been great, but it feels like something is missing. I come to a spot where I have to make a choice left or right, a fork in the road, as one might say. If I go right, I stay on the beach, but if I go left, it leads to a wooded area. As wolves, we love the woods. It's great to feel the ground on your paws, branches crunching as you run faster than you'd think ever possible.

For some reason, my wolf Zalia suddenly begs me to go into the woods. I walk in, wondering if she wants a run when she almost jumps in my head, yelling faster and telling me to head to the left. Walking slower than she wants, I creep forward, moving deeper. After about half an hour, i hear noises coming from ahead, and my wolf whines, begging me to hurry. I sniff the air and smell the slight smell of a rogue but also lavender with a hint of mint. Rogues are dangerous in most cases because they have no pack and can go feral on their own. The good thing is you can always tell when that's happened.

The wolf in question will be crazy in every way, most likely even forgetting completely about their human form. There's nothing quiet and calm about a feral rogue. The smell isn't overly great to me. I've never liked lavender, but I'm used to the smell. My brother loves it. I can't help but follow it, missing him and feeling like I need to see where this leads. I turn a corner and suddenly see a tent set up under a tree. It's opened and empty right now, but based on the setup, someone is definitely staying here. A bag of trash hangs from a small hook on a tree, and there is a fire pit on the ground in front of the tent. Inside, I see a small backpack on the ground and a sheet. I hear a noise from my right and then a soft voice asking, "Who are you and what do you want?"

I turn to look, and I see a very pretty woman walking out of the trees. She walks toward the tent staring at me, and I'm just staring back like a crazy person. She has bright blue eyes and dark burgundy red hair. She's wearing a dirty gold shirt and jeans that have probably seen better days also she has no shoes on. She looks back at me, raising her eye brow, and I realize I still never answered her question. I shake my head and say "Oh I'm sorry. Hi, im Brianna. I was out for a walk and felt the need to come this way. That may sound weird, but it was like I was being pulled here or something."

She stares at me, and the ghost of a smile appears on her face for a second. She sighs and says, " I don't know if anything will ever sound weird to me. You'd be surprised what has happened to me in the last almost year since I turned Eighteen. Also, I guess I was sort of pulled to come back here anyway. I heard someone here, but instead of my fight or flight instinct, I felt the need to hurry back before it was too late, which is weird, right?" She's organizing twigs to start a fire and has a plastic bag by her on the ground. She opens the bag and pulls out random, half eaten items that look like trash and smiles as she seems like she's about to bite into one.

I clear my throat and say, " Maybe this feels strange, but also like we are supposed to know each other or something. To be honest, I feel like I've known you my whole life, but I'm not sure why. Do you maybe want to hang out so we could go get some food or something?" Smiling, she stands up and says,"Really? because I've got that same feeling and it's been forever since I've had hot food." Confused, I asked."What do you mean?" she looks down and says," I've been homeless since pretty much my eighteenth birthday." My jaw drops. I thought maybe she was just on a camping trip or something, and to hear this is so shocking as wolves we live in packs, but it explains the slight rogue scent some

I stand unsure what to say when she stands and smiling she says "sorry I never introduced myself. My name is Annalise." I smile as I say." Wow, that's a beautiful name." She giggles and says," Thank you. " We start walking together, and I let her lead. If she lives here, she must know it better than me. As we walk we get to know each other I tell her about my brother my parents for some reason neither of us bring up packs or wolves we just talk like we are regular humans and I'm not sure why. She tells me about her mom and how she never knew her dad because he left before she was born.

This may explain things some but I’m not sure yet and don’t want to push her for more information.

We don't do many details, it's more of a feeling out process can we trust each other or not. My wolf tells me I can trust her and she's never led me wrong before so I decide to stop walking and she stops with me. I stare at her and I say what my wolf is telling me " I feel like your someone I'm supposed to know and I can trust, so I want to let you know I know your a werewolf and I'm one too."

  • The Lonely Wolf   74. Healing or Hurting?

Darlas POV I was sitting around stressing about how we left home where we had everything for our baby and now we have nothing. I’m not sorry we left our son never would have been safe there. They thought I was different because I was part human and that was bad enough for them. Dragon would have been even more of a let’s get rid of them. My son Kyson never would have been safe and no matter what I have and don’t have for him I can’t risk his safety. I went to sit down when I was hit with a pain and at first I started to worry but I remembered that I could have Braxton hicks contractions so I was going to sit down and try to let it pass. Then there was a knock on the door and I went to get it so it wouldn’t wake my mate he’s been catching up on his sleep after our escape. I was surprised to see the Luna and a bunch of guards I almost started to panic but she seemed calm so I tried not to panic. I smile as much as I can through the pain and say, ” oh hi Luna i didn’t expect any visit

Anna POV The next family was the Stone family father Heath, mother Vivian, daughter Aria eleven, sons Jalen seventeen , and Evan fourteen. Vivian is a mermaid, wolf and griffin hybrid. She can shift in to whichever she wants. To be honest I am glad I’m not in her head it is probably very busy with all those different voices. The next family was the Bakers father Kevin, mother Delilah, daughter Rose age one,, daughter Madison age two, son Wyatt age four, son Nick age six, and son Tyler age eight. Delilah is part wolf, fairy and unicorn.she has magic from the fairy and the unicorn. I hadn’t know unicorn shifters existed or that they had magic. She says “it has been a while since she’s shifted into anything but her wolf and that her other forms can’t wait to run or fly around again.” I smile and say “ I’m just a wolf but can I join you for your first run and fly I’d love to meet your unicorn I didn’t know a unicorn shifter was a thing.” She smiles and agrees that we could run together l

  • The Lonely Wolf   72. Joining?

Anna POV I was very pleased to see how many people escaped such a bad situation. As we all walk around seeing some of the pack I hear people getting excited and happy about different stuff they see. I smile and point out some of the stuff we have being built and then we head to the park. I love this park it’s the biggest in our pack it has everything a kid could want including a splash pad swing sets, play houses and jungle gyms with slides. I smile as kids get excited for feel like it won’t be long before they all want to stay and this playground has even more visitors then it already does. Luckily for us as I said it’s big it’s got four different jungle gyms each with two slides and tons of climbing places. They have rope walls and there are small rock climbing walls. There are about ten spring riders, monkey bars, seesaws, merry go rounds, spinners, sensory panels, tunnels, bridges, sandboxes, ramps , steps, decks, still rings, balance beams. There are water play areas to other

Brian POVWe are at the hospital again and I’m waiting to hear if this man will take something to prove the story him and his mate told us. He nods and says “ yes I’ll prove what I said is true as long as we can leave after that.” I stare him down and say, “ I’m sry I can’t make that promise.” He seems nervous now and mumbles “ it doesn’t seem we have a choice in this.” Anna scowls at me and says,” you always have a choice no one is holding you hostage” while glaring at me. I sigh and say “ no they’re not hostages just I need him to do this.” Anna is still not happy but the man comes with me and we leave for a private room we can talk in. I got out one of the pills my dad made popular and I asked him to take it and tell me the whole story again. This pill will make you tell the truth and the whole truth he nods and takes the pill. He told the whole story and it was mostly the same story but he added some stuff. He had paused after telling me what he heard his alpha saying he frowne

  • The Lonely Wolf   70. Story time …

Anna POV It’s been a few days and now I am out with bri wondering around the mountains. Of course our men didn’t like that because it was out of the packs and they hadn’t found ways to put up barriers yet. Also although the rogues aren’t attacking it’s still uncomfortable to have so many around packs hanging out so that didn’t help our mates feel better about this outing. However I had a few ideas and we just wanted to check out the area and see if we could use some of it for training or safety plans. I have heard of a few packs that hide safely areas in mountains. I read about some others who train in them and I also thought we might hide weapons out here in hidden places for any time we may have to fight. The higher ground can help a lot. We were told we needed to bring guards and they sent way too many to be honest. It’s like ten form each pack and I know I’m pregnant again but like that’s just going a little to far if you ask me I am one person. Also if we have ten from one pa

  • The Lonely Wolf   69. What’s with the Rogues?

Brian POV I’ve been calling all of the packs and speaking to every alpha to see if they have the same issue. It seems the rogues are around all the packs except the ones that are behind us along the mountain’s. Every alpha says similar stories they aren’t doing anything yet just walking around. One pack said they set up tents and are basically living right by there boarders. This is unheard of in so many ways and confusing also. The current collective thoughts are not to make any moves unless they do. So we stay this way and continue with updates I especially want them from the packs not yet seeing rogues. If they start seeing them we’d be completely surrounded but we still have our escape tunnels so no stressing yet. I got some information coming in about something that may fit Anna’S vision. It was pretty far away though a loan wolf showed up at a pack in Texas. They weren’t a rogue just far from home. His name was Brandon and he said his mate was taken while he slept. He follo
