Breaking The Spell

Emma and friends started the game. They read the rules of the game which stated that all players must be in pair of two and there should be only three team. They had to throw the die and any number that appear at the top had to be written with the magic pen in the open space in the book. The card they will pick was just a distraction for them not to know what’s happening in the game. It was going to make it look like it was a truth or dare game. If anyone did the dare or truth, they would have the chance to move the die and write the number.

Emma and Dave started. They took the card and saw that it was a dare. “Take off your panties in front of other partners” Emma read loud. She scoffed and stared at them.

“Ew no, I’m not gonna do that” she laughed. She had lost the chance to move the dice. Her boyfriend, Dave took another card and read it.

“Kiss your partner” he said. He turned and stared at Emma.

“That’s not a hard task” he said and kissed her. She blushed and stared at her other friends. They never wanted to play the game but it was fun for them. Dave took the die and threw it on the board. He got a three. They cheered. He took the magic pen and wrote a three on the first space out of four.

The second group did the same thing.

Meanwhile, when all this was happening, the wolves were preparing to attack the vampires. They were running towards the border, growling and tearing apart whatever was in their way. They were very strong, more stronger than the vampires. The vampires were just more faster than the wolves. They were also preparing and awaiting the wolves attack. But what could save the vampires were their powers.

They got to the border. Elon walked forward and howled. The other alpha and the members in their pack replied.

A vampire who had the power of understanding the wolves language heard them.

“They are planning to attack any time soon” he said. A mocking smile crept on Steve’s lips.

“It is time, stand in position!” He yelled and they obeyed at once.

They had to wait for the wolves to attack first.

.

“It’s remaining just one number. I’ll fill it up” Emma said and took the last card.

“Write a number that comes to your mind” she said.

“Okay, that’s weird” she murmured and took the pen. She wrote a six and the four numbers were complete. They waited to see what’s gonna happen.

“See, nothing happened. I told you guys it was just a fearless game” she said.

“Yeah, it’s still creepy to me. It came all the way from the water and it’s f*cking dry inside. How is that even possible?” One of the girls yelled and stood up. She was packing her things. She wanted to leave as soon as possible.

“Hold on, I thought we would spend the night here?” Emma asked.

“Not anymore. Haven’t you seen in movies and books when some teenagers uncover some hidden truth behind a book or break a spell? I don’t want that to happen to me. I’m leaving, who’s coming with me?”

“I am” the others said. Dave stood up and grabbed his things, together with Emma’s.

“Let’s leave. Maybe night party at the beach was bad after all. Great thing Amy didn’t come. She’s a total freak” Dave said.

“Don’t you dare speak Ill of her” she said and stood up. She took the book with her but Dave took it from her and threw it on the floor.

“There’s no way I’m letting that strange book in my car” he said.

She adjusted her gown and followed them. That was when they realized that the beach was strangely empty. There was no one except them. They looked round as they ran to the car.

Without hesitation, they threw the stuff at the boot of the car and speedily left the beach.

The sky was thick black, no moon in the sky and the clouds gathered.

A strange man came out behind a rock. He looked round and sniffed in. He saw the space on the island and smiled.

“Now, we are back to our world” Elon chanted.

Steve walked out from where he was also hiding and stood in front of Elon.

“This is our world, not yours. You should go back!” He said.

“The world that has been destroyed. This belong to us now. I know that the goddess has created this world for us”

Steve pushed Elon with a strong force from his hand. Instead of Elon to fall on the floor, he landed on the floor in his wolf form.

“Do you think you can defeat me? I am the king of all Alphas. I am the most powerful and undefeatable!” He hailed himself.

“Happy chanting Elon, here’s the last chance for you to leave”

“Hey! Who are you?!” The security guard asked as he walked towards them. He splashed his flashlight on their faces but they didn’t like it. They found his different of his scent. He doesn’t smell like a vampire nor a werewolf but something different and tasty. Elon turned and walked towards him, growling. He just wanted to devour him.

“You look yummy!” He said. The man was frightened. He grabbed his walkie talkie quickly.

“I need back up! Quick! There’s a big dog on the shore of the… Argh!” Before he could end his statement, Elon pulled him to the floor and devoured him. Steve shook his head in dismay.

“Someone is coming Master!” One of the vampire announced. They all left the beach and found somewhere to hide. Elon shape shifted into his human form and also ran away with his packs.

The cops car arrived after some minutes and saw the dead body. They also saw the footprints. They traced it but it was lost because it was dark. They had no idea what happened to him. There was no security camera around also.

When it was morning, Carlos ran to the beach to meet his brother. He was a detective in the station. Carlos gave him his wrist watch. Bill took it and nodded at his brother.

“Thanks” he said.

“What happened?” He asked, staring at the scene.

“We have no idea. The investigation was still doing on” he replied without smiling. Bill never smiled or talk to others much. He was concentrated on his job. Carlos saw the dead man’s body. Half of his body was gone already. He felt irritated and diverted his gaze to his brother.

“I’ll get going now” he said to Bill.

“Drive safely” he said and watched as his brother left. He kept turning back till he was out of sight.

Bill walked to the body and squatted beside the body. He saw an animal footprint beside the body and called the other investigator.

“Take a look at this” he said.

“We saw it detective but we were confused. We tracked the footprint but it stopped halfway and disappeared” they replied. He sighed deeply. They had no idea what happened to the security.

“Detective, here was the last call he made for backup before he left. He must have saw something” the security from the beach said and gave him the recordings. They listened to it carefully.

He heard the water whooshing and his voice. He was asking for some backups. Suddenly, there was a loud roar. Bill shut his eyes closed.

“He was attacked by an animal. Check the woods beside the beach, there may be some clues. Find the animal and report to me” he said and left.

The next day, it was Monday. Amy was getting dressed for school when she heard a soft knock on the door.

“Come in” she said. She knew it was her aunt. Never in her aunt’s life had she knocked as soft as that. It was either she yelled her name from wherever she was in the house or she banged her door hard.

The door flung open as Kathy walked in.

“Hey Amy” she said. Amy stared at her aunt through the mirror.

“What do you want now? Wanna laugh at me or yell at me?” She asked.

“I came to apologize” she said. Any turned with a surprise look on her face.

“Apologize?” She asked.

“Yes, apologize. I know what I’ve done to you was wrong and… I shouldn’t have said those hurtful words to you. I was just mad” she said. Amy took a step towards her aunt and took her by her hand.

“It’s fine aunt. I just want you to support me and let’s live as one” she said. Kathy never imagined that she could be forgiven that fast.

“Thanks Amy. When you get back, we’ll have a chance to talk” she said.

“Sure but I’d be back late. I have a new job”

“Congratulations” Kathy said. Amy smiled and wrapped her arms around her aunt.

“Thanks”

That was when Carlos car honked downstairs.

“And you also have to tell me more about your boyfriend” Kathy added.

“Gross, Carlos isn’t my boyfriend aunt” she laughed as she took her bag and head out of the room. She walked to the door.

“You’re kidding right?” Kathy asked.

“He isn’t” she said and walked to his car.

“Hey Carlos” Amy greeted as she walked to the other side of the car.

“Bye Amy!” She waved at the car. A drop of tear rolled down Kathy’s eyes.
