In The Human World!

Carlos started the car and started driving towards the car.

“I haven’t seen your aunt be so nice to you. What happened all of a sudden?” He asked. Amy smirked and stared out of the window.

“I guess I just learned a lesson. I should always learn to talk back to prove I’m right and not to look like a dummy” she said. Carlos scoffed.

“Here’s a new Amy, I like her” he said. Amy gave a soft chuckle.

“Why are you using a different car today?” She asked, staring at the chairs and parts.

“My brother is busy with mine. He has a case to investigate” he said.

“Is it serious?” She asked with concern written all over her face.

“Yes, I should say. The man was killed by an animal but they have no idea where it came from or what type of animal it is” he said.

“Strange” she replied.

“Yeah, my brother is in charge of the case. He wants to figure out what happened and he will”

“Well, I wish him good luck” she said.

He was getting close to the school until Amy yelled.

“Stop!”

He quickly pulled over and stared at her as his eyes shot wide open.

“What happened?” He asked. She opened the car and left with her bag.

“See you in school, thanks for the ride” she said and started walking by the lane, towards the school. He drove slowly following her.

“You used me Amelia Cortez!” He yelled. She signalled him to shut up but his doesn’t want to. She got to the school but he was still following her with the car, heading to the park. Other students were outside, watching as Carlos followed Amy with his car.

Some were blushing, some were envious of Amy.

She was running towards the entrance when Carlos yelled.

“See you later baby!” He yelled. Everyone gasped and started laughing. She shook her head and left into the building. He gave a cute smile and head to the parking lot.

Carlos classmates, the one who hit Amy the other day watched from a corner.

“I hope you know what to do. I can’t let this young chick steal my egg” she said.

“Yes, everything is set already” the others replied. She smirked, staring into the thin air. Today might accidentally be that last day of Amy.

Amy head into her class and saw Emma and others.

“Hey” she said and sat beside Emma. Emma was surprised that Amy could finally talk. She never greeted anyone before. She wanted to start a new way of living even if she doesn’t have to.

“Good morning Amy” Emma replied.

“How was your party?” She asked.

“It was…fun but we had to leave early” she said.

“I see” she replied and opened her textbook. She didn’t know what else to say since she only talk to Emma. Dave and the other drew their chair closer to her.

“Would you like to come with us next time?” Dave asked.

“Of course” she replied.

“What about your aunt? Her answer would always be…”

“No!” Everyone chorused. They already knew her aunt and her usual response. She giggled.

“Well, I’ve settled things with her and she would let me go wherever I want now. I also have a job” she said.

“What the… Where?” Emma squealed happily.

“Midnight club” she said. They all exchanged glances with each other and stared back at Amy.

“What?!!!”

“You mean the new club down the street?”

“That’s like, an expensive club”

“Yeah, I know” she replied. She didn’t see any harm in talking to the others. It was fun. She was enjoying her conversation with them until the teacher walked in. They all went back to their various seat and started the class.

.

During lunch, they head to the canteen. There were two canteens, one for the senior and one for the junior. If Amy hadn’t gotten a scholarship to study in school, she’d have not be here.

She held her tray tight, walking in line.

“Next!” The food attendant said.

She started hearing students screaming. She turned and saw that they were screaming because of Carlos.

“Why was he here?” She asked herself. She hid her face away from him but he found her. He pulled her hand and took her to the front.

“What’s going on?”

“We got here first!” They complained.

“Serve her!” Carlos ordered.

“Who are you!” The attendant asked.

“Stop this Carlos. It isn’t necessary. I can wait in line” she said.

“I’m a senior. Serve her!” Carlos repeatedly said.

“Okay” she said and served some meal on the plate. She passed it to her. Amy collected it but she felt guilty.

“You made everyone hate me” she said and walked to a table. He sat beside her, watching her as she ate. Everyone was watching. Everyone think they were dating and that’s why they was always together.

An unexpected somebody walked in, it was Alice with her two side chicks.

“Hey Amy? Hey Carlos” she greeted.

“What do you want Alice?” Carlos rolled his eyes.

“Relax” she paused and sat down. Everyone threw their attention to them. They were aware of what happened on Friday, they were expecting another fight.

“I came to apologize to Amy. I was being a jerk and I’m sorry” she said.

“It’s okay, I’m fine. You don’t have to apologize” Amy replied.

“Amy has a nice heart, she isn’t like most of you. Jerk off” Carlos said.

“You don’t have to be mean Carlos. Amy is my friend now, right Amy?” She asked.

“Of course, I am” she replied, staring at him.

Alice doesn’t feel like she was accepted by Amy at all.

“Why do I feel like you don’t want to accept me at all?” She asked.

“No, I have. We are friends” Amy replied.

“Then prove it. Go get me something to eat, there’s no queue anymore” she said.

“Don’t move Amy” Carlos stopped her but Amy stood up.

“It’s okay, I won’t waste any time at all” she said and left. They watched as she left to the counter to get another meal for Alice. Carlos stood up and faced Alice.

“What the f*ck is wrong with you?” He asked.

“Nothing! I just don’t want to hurt you. I love you, remember?” she said, smiling at him. She turned to face her friend and gave them the signal. The nodded in reply.

As Amy stood by counter, waiting for her food. Someone from nowhere shot a baseball at her. It flew into the canteen and hit her hard, on the forehead.

Alice’s lips curved into a smile when she saw that the ball hit her head. She waited for her to fall but she didn’t. Everyone saw the baseball, including Carlos. She touched her forehead when she felt something hit her. She felt a little pain but it’s all gone.

“Are you okay dear?” The attendant asked.

“Yeah” she said and collected the food.

“Thanks” she said and left. The attendant peeped and stared at the ball. That ball was able to kill someone but she didn’t feel anything.

“Are you alright? You just got hit by a baseball. How can you not…”

“Hey Amy, the teacher needs you. Let’s go now” Emma came from nowhere and saved her from anyone knowing the truth.

As they left, Carlos wanted to follow them but he didn’t. He stood, wondering why the ball didn’t affect her. Everyone has the news on their lips, talking about it all day.

Emma stopped by the hallway and stared at her best friend. She touched her head to see if she was bleeding or not. But she wasn’t.

“That got me for a second. I’m glad you didn’t get injured”

“Who must have throw a baseball at me?” She asked.

“I have no idea but you should put a fake bandage on your head to show that you are injured, or else, everyone will know your secret” Emma whispered.

“Okay”

“Emma Wilson, your attention is needed at the principal’s office” the speaker announced.

“Why?” She murmured.

“I’ll go do the fake bandage” Amy said and left. She got to the sick bay and saw that it was empty.

“Lucky me” she murmured and started looking round for a bandage. She found one and stared at her reflection on the mirror. She started wrapping the bandage round her head and clipped it.

She started to wonder why she doesn’t get injured at all. Her eyes met with the scissors on the table.

.

Emma got to the principal office and opened the door.

“You called for me sir?” She asked.

“Oh yeah, these detective has some questions to ask you” he said. She saw the cops and shot her eyes wide open. Her heart was beating fast.

“We…”

Before they even started, she joined her hands together and shut her eyes.

“I’m sorry, it was my fault. I shouldn’t have drove the car. I mistakenly hit the cat and I drove off. I’m so so sorry” she cried. The cops stared at each other and stared back at her.

“We have no idea what you are talking about but we are here because of this book. Your fingerprints were on them, so… You were definitely at the crystal water beach” they said. Emma had her eyes fixed on the book. She blinked repeatedly.

“It was the book from that day, the game book. How did it get to them?” She thought, moving back away from them.
