My mouth tastes bitter and my head still stings. I open my eyes but my vision clears only after a couple of blinks. I roam my eyes on the ceiling before last night flashes back to me.

I slowly sit up and look at the clock. It stroke 5.42am. I stand up and check if I felt any pain, but except in my head, there was no other uneasiness. I realise that there is no scar on my palm, the skin was clear and perfect; without a single stitch or scar. I stare at my palm for a couple of seconds before coming back to the reality.
