Chapter 51

Elijah and I were eating lunch when the alert came through. A large group of werewolves had been spotted heading towards our border and I knew right away that this must be the diversion that Aruther had set up for me. I had hoped that we would have more time together before this happened.

Sensing my apprehension, Elijah wrapped his arms around me. He whispered a few words of reassurance before letting me go and heading out to play his part in our plan. I waited in the kitchen for a couple of minutes, downing what was left of my coffee and taking a couple more bites out of my bagel.

I didn’t really have a role in our plan but I was worried that Arthur would try to find me. I couldn’t let that happen, it would ruin our whole plan. Arthur would know that I had no intention of coming to meet him if he saw me here. That would put everyone in this pack and all of the vampires that were helping us at risk.

Taking a couple of bottles of water and some snacks with me I went to find a hiding
