Chapter 15. Helena POV
Ivan and Azalea are back. I knew it was coming, it’s been stressing me out but there is nothing I can do now. I just have to hope Azalea doesn’t calculate I'm having more visions. As far as possible without being obvious, I need to keep her out of my way. At least I finally have a reason to enjoy all those administrative meetings.
I silently watched them arriving from out of the library window. They practically bounced out of their jeep, hand in hand as euphoric as a freshly mated couple should be. Ivan seemed a whole new man, a smile permanently plastered to his face which made my heart warm.Then I observed Azalea slyly checking upwards along the castle walls. She was trying to see if I was at my suite window looking out for her. I was watching, but I’d chosen another room on purpose.So she wasn’t completely focused on Ivan, Fyre growled. She is trying to spot you, she's got something on her mind for sure.

I woke up in a panic, my dreams had turned from Bram deliciously kissing me on a bed, caressing my skin, slowly pushing down the straps of my top, to me suddenly dropping into a black, never ending hole. It was one of those dreams where you wake with a thud in your bed and your heart pounding. In my case, I headbutted a log as I juddered back into life. If Lucien knew anything about my messing with him during the night, he didn't let on at all. I noticed him being slightly less flinty than normal as we started another day's trek. As per his instructions, I waited patiently behind a pile of craggy boulders for an hour on the outskirts of a town for him to return with food. Just as I started to panic that he had abandoned me completely I heard that familiar sound of his heavy boots on gravel. We had walked together so much I knew his footsteps as uniquely as his voice. It was strange to feel my spirits lift at the sound of someone's boots. Probably because I was so pleased, he hadn’t run off and left me, which made me feel guilty, after all, he had committed to the journey even after knowing he was the one wanted in Silver City. The cave was not as bad as it could have been. Thankful it wasn’t full of bats for a start, the floor was mainly flat rock, smoothed by years of water flow with a jutting ledge forming a narrow bench of sorts. Stood alone in the cave with just the dying light of day and the smattering of rain to accompany us, I started to pull myself together. Natasha.After hearing her name emerging from Lucien's dreamy state I had sat in shock for a while. Every burgeoning fantasy in which I could be seen as something more, by someone other than Bram was shattered.
