Carissa's POV

My eyes watered quickly.

“So after everything, you call me your mistress, Nolan? I endured with you all through!”

Nolan couldn't stand tears. That was one of his weaknesses.

“Carissa...” His voice softened immediately.

“No. You chose me, and then behind my back you took back Violetta? What the hell, Nolan?!”

“Calm down, Carissa. You don't understand!”

“No! I do understand! This is how you plan to treat the mother of your child.”

I waited for the switch.

“What?!”

He turned to face me. “What did you just say?”

“You heard me correctly. The mother of your child”

He was shocked beyond words. I hadn't expected a better reaction, though.

I made my lips quiver. “You know what? Wait till I tell your mother whatever you did!”

Then he snapped. “Whoa. Hold on. We can't tell her yet.”

“What? Are you ashamed?”

“I'm… I’m not.”

He was stuttering. I had him where I wanted him.

“We just can't tell her yet.”

Nolan was talking, but all he was really doing was feeding my suspicions.

Carissa’s POV.“Did you do as I asked?” She said to me, not bothering to pay me a glance. Her attention was on the painting she was working on in front of her. “Yes, your graciousness. I tried to convince Theodore that Nolan and Violetta had something, but I don't think he was convinced.” I replied, still wondering why she asked me to do such an odd thing in the first place. What was her main reason for trying to separate Theodore and that wench? I mean, I also didn’t like the idea of her being part of the royal family, especially since I was going to be a part of it too. She doesn't deserve to have a fraction of the life that awaited me as a luna; still, I couldn’t help but think there was more to it. Then it suddenly hit me. Surely she couldn’t be trying to mate Violetta and Nolan again, could she? By lying to me and using me? No, impossible. But it tugged at my chest, so I just had to ask. “Umm, your graciousness,” I called, my voice low, head bowed. “Yes, dear.” She replie

Carissa’s POV.“Why are you here?” He asked, trying to conceal his real agitation.“I already said it. I’m here to tell you the truth about your beloved. He swallowed. “Leave, I don’t want to hear it.”“Ohhh, trouble in paradise already? Well damn, then I guess you really aren’t interested in what I have to say then.”His jaw flexed. “Yeah, I’m not interested, so take it somewhere else.”“Okay, if you say so. But don’t say no one later told you about the funny noises I heard coming out of the Alpha’s room when your beau was in there. Now, I’m not saying anything happened; I’m rather just speaking on what I heard.”For a quick beat, his eyes widened but were quickly turned back to normal. And I knew then that my plan had begun to work. I plan to make the wretch remain who she is, a disgusting, disregarded, filthy thing with no hope of ever escaping her vile reality given to her by my very own father. Half of that plan was settled when I took over Nolan’s heart or whatever it is tha

Nolan’s POV. I walked into my mother’s chamber, mind heavy on what she would say. She had sent word to the palace to have me come by her palace for a talk. The woman didn’t even bother hiding her disregard for me anymore; she just acted however she wanted. Controlling and overpowering everyone around her. Including me, who’s supposed to be her ruler. “Mother,” I called out as she seemed not to be in sight. “In here.”Oh. She was in her massage parlor. I walked in and noticed the masseuse doing her work. “Uhh, I can wait for you to finish.”“Nonsense, son.” She turned to the maid. “Get my garment.”“Yes, your graciousness.” The maid pulled her garment off the hanger, laying it over her back. She got up and tied the rope around her waist. “Leave us.” She commanded.“Yes, your graciousness.”Then turned to me with a smile. That smile. The one she served when she had preposterous things going through her head. “Come here, my boy.” I sighed, walking closer to her until I stopped

Theodore’s POV. He crouched low, looking at me with a smirk on his face. “So… oh, that thing you said about being unable to hold on anymore, you really meant it, huh?” I stared, confused. “What does that mean, Caleb?”“Oh please don’t pretend. I saw how you guys were all over each other, like your wedding was a few days before she went to meet the Alpha.”“Oh, forget that. Absolutely Nothing like that?”“So you’re telling me the hand touching and she trying to get you out of a mess you fell into with your eyes open is just…normal.”I paused in disbelief. “Thought you said earlier that it was her fault?”He shrugged. “Are you kidding bro? That was just because I wanted to blame someone other than you for this mess. But you got yourself into this all by yourself.”I scoffed. “I thought you said it was because I was fighting for her that I got here.”“Well, did she force you? Hell, she wasn’t even in the arena when it happened. That was all you, bro; you did all that madness yourself.

Violetta’s POVMarry me again, Violetta. Those words replayed in my mind as I stared at the monster before me, who was hell-bent on marrying me, not because he loved me but for whatever selfish reasons he had. A monster who, if I eventually decided to marry, would have nothing but evil and heartbreak awaiting me. So why go through all this trouble when he knew he genuinely didn’t care about me? “You know what, Nolan, I made a mistake coming here. I was stupid enough to think I could get something out of you; now I know that’s impossible. Do whatever you want, but marrying you is the last thing I’d ever do. Even then, I’d rather fall onto a sword.”He looked taken aback by my words, and before he could say anything, I pulled the door open and walked out. Before going to his room, I had expected him to prove difficult, but the level he went to surpassed my imagination. He was truly shameless. I walked back into the dungeon, Caleb trailing behind me.“So how did it go? Did he agree t

  • The Luna’s Second Life   Chapter 79

Nolan’s POV. When I first got Theodore locked up, it was out of sheer anger. But along the line, I realized it could help in my goal. My mother wants a union between this thing and me. And I knew she would want to save him after hearing he was locked up. So it was a perfect opportunity to get her under my thumb.“Please sit,” I said, gesturing to the velvet chair behind her.“Thank you.”“So to what do I owe this visit from Luna Violetta? Oops, forgive me. I played with that name so much, I just have not been able to get it off my mind.”“It’s fine.” She replied like she didn’t even care. “Umm, I know he was wrong, but I was hoping you could tender justice with mercy and maybe just let him out. I mean, he’s still your brother. After all, Nolan.”I leaned back into his seat, smiling wickedly. “Wow, and here I thought you had thought about my offer and came to give feedback.”She scoffed. “Your offer?”“Yes, Violetta, my offer. The one where I promised you that I had changed and wou
