He dropped me daintily on the bed like I was an egg that shouldn't be cracked, causing tingly feelings to flush through me.

Never had I imagined that a day would come when a girl like me would be treated like royalty, would be cared for. . . Not even in my craziest dreams.

"Lia please be careful," he spoke the exact moment I felt the bed dip, indicating that he sat on it.

He held my leg, inspecting the bruise on me knee, his finger grazing it slightly, causing me to wince at the contact.

"It's not that bad," he stated, lifting his head to meet my gaze, causing a beautiful warm candle to light up within me.

"What were you looking at when she fell?" He turned to the maids who had their heads bowed, fury flames burning in his eyes that I was scared he'd hurt them.

"It-it's okay Asher, it's nothing serious. I'll be fine in a few days," I said in a bit to calm his fury.

"It could have been worse," he retorted, his voice low and hoarse, anger clearly still seeping through.

"I am fine
