Chapter 65

When Ward said that he wanted to train me to fight I didn't expect us to start the next day. I feel silly standing in front of my mother, Sister Edith, and Ward. I cross my arms over my chest because I am unsure of what to do first.

"Okay Princess," Ward says with a hint of a smile on his lips. “I am going to attack you and I want you to deflect me.”

"But how?" I whine a little. "I don't know what I am doing."

"This is what we call baptism by fire," Ward chuckles a little bit. "I have faith that your body will know what to do."

My mother has a hopeful look on her face but Sister Edith is shaking her head back and forth in disapproval. She doesn't seem to agree with Ward's method of training.
