Chapter 86: The End

It wasn’t hard to gather the evidence after sifting through all my cousin’s papers, emails, and belongings. Ana and I managed to document everything in black and white, delivering proper punishment to those lycans while sending a clear warning to the rest of the council: should any of them ever overstep again, I wouldn’t be as lenient as I had been.

For now, though, the other lycans were in jail, and they would remain there until the end of their days. I knew it wasn’t exactly what Ana had wanted, but it was enough. I could see the peace it brought my mate.

A few days after we arrested and imprisoned the lycans, we were lying in bed together. I could feel a sense of calm spreading through Ana.

“It’s over,” she whispered.

I smiled, and she looked over her shoulder, meeting my eyes. “It’s really over.”

“It feels like I’m only just realizing it now,” she admitted.

“I can feel that.”

“But it really is… isn’t it? Over,” she asked.

I knew she needed someone to confirm it, so I smiled
