Carson POV

We paced the hospital floor waiting for Sarah to come out of surgery. She had an abdominal wound, that looked bad. Jeff sat down, putting his head in his hands. “What if something happens to her? How will I go on without her?” he asked. I moved to his side, “Do not think like that, man. She will be fine. She is strong,” I said, trying to reassure my best friend.

“There was so much blood,” he mumbled as he thought of his mate fighting for her life. I put my hand on his shoulder and just sat with him like that as we waited. A doctor came from the other direction, looking for me. “Alpha?” he asked. “Yes, what is it?” I responded, knowing this was the doctor taking care of Cole.
