“Nadine, is that you?!” Dave asked, his eyes bulging from their sockets.

Nadine didn't look away from Maya, but she replied, “Yes. I'm here to rescue you.”

Maya laughed, a hearty and throaty sound, “What are you supposed to be?”

“I'm a hunter and I'm also Dave's girlfriend. Where are the keys to the cuffs?” Nadine asked angrily.

“Nadine, I—” Dave's words were cut off by Nadine.

“Dave, I know you've had to endure unspeakable things here for four months, but don't worry, it's going to be all right. I'll get you out.” Nadine said quietly.

“Unchain him or I'll shoot you! I've got silver bullets!” Nadine threatened Maya.

Maya did not make a move, but stared at Nadine with derision.
