Nothing to lose

"The devils are here tonight."

Those were the only words Kon's mind decided to replay as he ambled through the tables. He got orders from a few of the tables in the first three rooms, and he had yet to enter the upper rooms.

Those rooms at the other end of the hall were known as the VVIP rooms. They were always occupied by those of importance to the city.

Especially men you shouldn't trifle with.

"Phew."

Kon wiped the sweat from his brow when he finally made a round through the first three rooms.

He hated this part of his job. However, there was no way he could quit, as this was the only bar willing to employ a high school student. And not only that, but the tips he got there, coupled with his pay, were more than any place could ever pay him.

That was the reason he decided to stay with them.

The reason Kon hated the VIP was because of what happened there.

Unlike the ordinary areas of the bar, the things that happened in the VIP area weren't something a young student like Kon should be allowed to see.

However, the things that went on in the VIP area were nothing compared to the things that went on in his home. His mother had turned their home into a mini local brothel.

Tonight, the strippers in the VIP room had gone to the extreme. Three of the girls were dancing naked on the pole as the rich men, who frequented the bar, clapped their hands as they watched the females in anticipation.

"Phew."

Kon breathed out a sigh of relief when he stepped out of the third room so far. Working in the regular room was better than working in the VIP. At least he wouldn't have any need to be civil, despite the urge he had to hit one or two of the men who tried to cup a feel.

He didn't understand the men enough.

How could men want to touch another man as they did women?

It was something they did that he didn't understand. And Kon didn't want to understand.

"Where are you going, cutie?" One of the men, who came out of the second door, staggered close to Kon.

The Black Tiger, as the man was known, was the head of a loan shark company. At the young age of twenty, he was able to kill his father and take over the company.

The Black Tiger was a young man in his late twenties.

He was always dressed in black attire, and he always wore black boots. No one else had ever seen him wear any shoes aside from the black boots. And that caused a rumour that was going around the town.

Most believed that those black boots were his lucky charms.

And in some ways, they were his lucky charms. Not that anything lucky had happened to him with the boots. However, he believed in that.

After all, they were given to him by the only person he admired: his grandmother.

He was putting on the black boots the night he killed his father mercilessly in cold blood.

And since then, the Black Tiger had been feared among the people. He wasn't a man to be trifled with.

The dark knife mark that ran from his forehead and through the right part of his face made him formidable.

However, Kon didn't seem to mind. After all, he had nothing to lose. His family owed tons of money. He had nothing of value to his name.

"Work."

Just a word, and Kon started heading over to the fourth room for the night.

His work was simple. All he had to do was take orders from the people in there and pass them across to the bartenders.

Each night, he made a round of the various rooms three times before he called it a night. During the three times, his job was to take orders and deliver them to those who requested them.

"Where do you think you are going? I'm not done talking to you." The man angrily clenched his jaw.

"And you think I care?" Kon bit back in anger.

The man was stunned by his question. Never had someone been bold enough to challenge the Black Tiger.

"Who are you?" The Black Tiger seethed in anger. He had his palms balled in anger as he narrowed his eyes at the boy who dared to challenge him.

"I'm a boy who has nothing to do with you."

Kon's hand ached to make a collision with the stupid man's jaw. But he held himself from doing that because he knew that nothing good could come from causing trouble.

"Hey!" The Black Tiger raised his hand to hit Kon, who was ready to retaliate.

He hated to fight, but when the other party started a fight, he wasn't one to back down from it.

"Master!" One of the Black Tiger's men ran out of the room. He glanced around, searching for his master. "Master!" He ran to where the Black Tiger and Kon were currently having a staring contest.

Alone in the dark corridor that was only illuminated by the red bulb, the two men stood in front of the fourth door, staring down at each other as if they were preparing for a match.

Kon was ready for him. He was ready to show the Black Tiger that this poor boy from the slums wasn't ready to back down from a fight.

"What is it?" The Black Tiger asked, without turning to look at his man.

"We got a call from the company. There is a situation in the Northern —"

The Black Tiger raised his hand, and that caused his minion to stop talking.

He knew that if he didn't stop his minion, the fool would go on spouting words no other person should be privy to.

"If you don't mind, I will be on my merry way." Kon wasn't ready to listen to whatever the two might wish to discuss. He had something important to do, and that was to check on the others in the other rooms.

"Fuck," Lin glanced up to see more than five cars blocking them.Behind them were three cars. On one side was a residential building, and on the other side were three cars."What should I do, boss?" The driver asked in a neutral tone. He wasn't alarmed at all because this wasn't his first time being in a situation like this."Wait," Lin ordered. "Are you okay?" He turned to Kon with a concerned expression on his face.Kon nodded."Boss?""Wait!" Lin snapped at the driver. "I'm waiting for something."He said as he glanced at the car in the middle. It wasn't difficult to know that Osy was in that particular vehicle.A man dressed in black exited the vehicle and walked over to the back door. He bowed as he opened the door. And out stepped Osy."Osy?" Kon gasped.Images assaulted him at the sight of the same man his mind conjured not too long ago.He blinked.Lin frowned. "Wait for him to advance, knock into him, and take a right through the forest," he instructed his driver, then turned

"Quick, let's call your dad." Melina took out her phone to call Osy. However, before the phone could be answered, Kon and Lin were already out of the mall. They were halfway across the parking lot."What is it, Melina?" Osy snapped at his sister the moment he answered the phone. He was pissed off when he was disturbed while still seeking Lin's hideout."Your daughter saw your wife," Melina answered without beating about the bush. She knew it was urgent."What? Where was it? Is he there? How—""The mall. He was with his best friend. However, they are not here any more. They ran the moment Toto saw them," she explained as fast as she could."Shit!" Osy threw his phone to the wall. "Get the men ready. Call the office, and ask them to block all the ways in the city. Don't let the dark Lord slip from our grasp," he ordered Scorpion, who was beyond excited to leave Osy's presence. It was difficult enough kneeling in front of the devil all day."Yes, my Lord." He bowed to him before he rose

"Fuck!" Osy pushed the table down in anger. "How could you have let him leave alone!?" He growled at Scorpion."I'm sorry, master. I will take full responsibility for it." Scorpion bowed to him. "I will get him back," he said, tightly shutting his eyes and clenching his fists."It's too late." Osy showed him a message he got on his phone. "The Dark Lord is with him.""What?" Scorpion widened his eyes. "Why did the Dark Lord take him? You've not had a clash with him."It was a puzzle to Scorpion. The Dark Lord was one of the most feared mafia lords in the entire country. Though he doesn't frequently appear, his name instils fear in the lives of those who have been unfortunate to meet him.Although his fame wasn't like that of the devil, people feared him more than the other mafia lords."He's Kon's best friend," Osy gritted his teeth."Lin?" Shocked, Scorpion took a step back."Yes. He's the one with Kon," Osy said, walking to the window. "We have to find Kon. Take Toto back to my sist

"I'm sorry, Kon," Lin stepped closer to a struggling Kon. "Trust me, I never wanted to do this. But you left me with no choice.""Why are you doing this, Lin?" Kon furrowed his brows at him."Why am I doing all this?" Lin laughed. "Hasn't it always been obvious? I'm doing this because I love you, Kon." He touched Kon's cheeks. "I've always loved you. I can't think of a time when I never loved you.""No, that's not true," Kon shook his head. "You are my best friend, Lin.""But not to me," Lin sighed. "I only pretended to be your best friend so I could keep staying next to you."Kon huffed. "Okay, let's leave that out. How did you end up here? I thought we came to see your parents?" Kon tried to use that to check if Lin might let him go."Parents?" Lin scoffed. "I have no parents, Kon. The woman I lived with was the caregiver my uncle brought to look after me.""But…" Kon blinked. "You called her 'mother.'""Is there anything wrong with that?" Lin grinned. "I didn't see anything wrong w

  • The Mafia Devil's Possession   I love you

Kon yawned. His head was pounding, and he was sweating. He blinked, looking around. He was in a strange room, with black pieces of furniture all around, but that wasn't his problem; it was the headache. He placed a hand on his head at the searing pain. It felt as if his head was about to split into two.Kon rose from the bed and slowly walked to the door. He tried the doorknob, and the door opened. With his hand clutched to his head, he walked out of the room and headed down the corridors. His mind was fuzzy. He didn't recall a thing. And when he tried to recollect, a searing pain through his head was all that greeted him as he staggered in the hall.He placed a hand on the wall to keep himself from falling."Kon?"An alarmed Lin rushed towards him, prompting him to stop.He squinted at the person in front of him as his mind tried to place the face. However, the scalding pain in his skull made him tightly shut his eyes. He grasped the nearest doorknob."What are you doing out here?" L

Scorpion looked reluctant."It's okay. You don't have to keep your face like that." Kon chuckled at the expression on his face. "You don't have to tell your boss anything. I will be back before you notice my absence.""And what of Toto? Do you think she will keep her mouth shut?" He furrowed his brows."Take her to get some ice cream. And should she ask of me, tell her I went to school to get a textbook I forgot." He pouted. "Please, Scorpion. Lin is my best friend; I need to help him.""Can't he go on his own? Doesn't he know you are dating my boss?" Scorpion folded his arms in displeasure. His words caused Kon to roll his eyes. "He's my best friend, Scorpion. You don't have to act as if I'm cheating on Osy behind his back. Besides, it's not as if I'm dating him.""Let him not hear those words from your mouth," Scorpion grumbled under his breath, looking a bit like a grumpy grandfather."So, am I free to go?" He blinked as cutely as he could. "Am I?" He pursed his lips. "Uncle Scorpi
