FIVE YEARS LATER

I sat in my car and waited as I did every day for the past five years to make sure that my princess was safe and to keep an eye on her. I watch as she comes down towards the car, hugging her jacket to her body. She taps on my window and I roll it down and she stares in at me. “ I told you I didn’t need your fucking detail on me, Robbie. I am totally capable of making it home safe on my own.” She opens the door and gets in, crossing her arms across her chest. I brush my thumb over her lips and lean in and kiss her gently. “ Is my princess upset?” I ask her teasingly.
