There was a knock at my door. I knew that knock all too well. It was my father’s knock. Before I answered, he walked inside. He stared at us and then leaned against the wall in all his glory. My father had a certain aura about him, one that hung in the air; powerful, dangerous, entitled. I was a lot like him. When he saw something he wanted he went after it. Cars, houses, businesses, and my mother. He possessed them all.

“ I spoke to your mother.” He finally spoke up after studying us. “ Angelina, Isabella wanted you to go to her room. I will come get you once I finish talking to my son.”

He had an authoritative tone to his voice and unlike me, she didn’t even put up a fuss. I watched as she left the room then looked back at my father. I knew this would come up sooner later but he wouldn't change my mind. Angelina was not leaving me and no one would tell me different.
