One Year Prior

POV Alejandro King

I stare at my father as he takes a bite of his steak and points the fork at me. " Alejandro, you'll be twenty-five next year and you know, in order to remain in power, you must take a wife by your birthday or your cousin Javier will control the families."

Javier wouldn't be able to accomplish what I have done in such a short time and my father knows that. I watched him shove another piece of meat into his mouth and take a drink from his glass of Cabernet. " You know, your mother and I were arranged when we were just sixteen and not a day went by when I looked into her eyes and saw the love still there and the unquenchable fire that still burns. I just hope that for you some day."

I know he means well, but I am not interested in any arranged marriage to some mafia princess who maxes out my credit cards on breast implants and designer clothing.

“No offense, old man, but things are different now. Arranged marriages are a thing of the past.”

He almost jumped out of his seat and his eyes glared at me. “ Not in the mafia they’re not! You have until Christmas to find a wife or one will be arranged.”

Christmas? But it’s already September. “Christmas? That’s three months!Where will I find a wife in that time?”

He smiles at me and raises his glass. “ Well, I guess you had better get a move on. I will be out of the country until then. Your mother, you know how she gets, she wants to go on another trip to get away and I told her that we would. When I return I want good news, Capish?”

He wipes his face and throws the napkin onto the table, beginning to walk away. “ If you don’t have a wife at Christmas. I will have no other choice but to give your cousin Javier control.”

That should be easy. I could just hire some girl to play my wife. Maybe Veronica? I sure as hell wouldn’t mind waking up to that every morning and she’s a killer in bed, too.

I watch him as he nears the door and then he stops. “ And no call girls. She has to be pure. It better not be that …that Veronica.” Now wait just a damn minute. Not Veronica? I bit back the words I wanted to yell at him and decided now would be a great time to take my leave, but before I did, I was going to call Pedro and hit the bar. After this meeting I could use a stiff drink.

Later that night…

“ So he said you have to get married in order to stay in power? Bummer, man. All that pussy you’ll be giving up.”

Pedro hits me on the shoulder mockingly. Then something caught his eyes, a group of girls walking in wearing short skirts, followed behind by a girl that looked out of place. They were pulling her in with them but I could see the hesitation in her eyes, she looked like she didn't want to be there. As they made their way to the bar, I watched with curiosity.

The other girls were pretty but over doing it. They had bright red lipstick on and wore shimmery black skirts with matching tops, their hair all done up like they spent hours at that beauty shop, but for her, it was all natural. Pedro nodded towards the two girls,

“ I’ll take the other two. You can have Mother Theresa.”

I watched as he made his way through the crowd and he stood in front of the girls, then motioned for me to join them. As I made my way closer, I looked at her and my heart stopped. She was a goddess.

While the other two were dressed in short skirts and skimpy tops that showed off their fake cleavage, the girl was wearing a dress that was of a modest nature, but I could tell that underneath it she had killer curves. I stood behind her as Pedro hit on her two friends. Watching her and drinking her in.

" So, do you girls come here often? I'm Pedro, by the way, and this is my friend, AJ."

The girls looked between us and giggled. I was glad he didn't use my full name in fear of scaring them off, scaring her off. The two girls took a sip of their drink, seductively sipping their straw and sending both of us subliminal messages. I knew that I could have either one of them or both if I cared to. After all, I had many women falling at my feet.

My attention was brought from them to her. " What's your name?"

I asked her and she looked at me like I had broken some kind of rule. Her friend looked at me and smiled,

" Oh you'll have to excuse her. She's shy."

So she is. I could tell that she felt uncomfortable being there. I really wanted to get her to talk to me. I glanced at her drink. She wasn't having what her friends were drinking so I decided to break the ice and buy her a drink.

" What's your poison?" I asked her and she turned to me on her seat, her sapphire eyes shining as the light illuminated her angelic face. She shook her head at me.

" I don't drink. Sorry." When she spoke it was like an angel was sitting next to me. I could listen to that sweet voice all day long and never tire of it. Who comes to a club and doesn't drink? This woman intrigued me. I raised an eyebrow and smirked. " Well, what are you drinking? I can buy you another one." She didn't reply.

Pedro hit my shoulder and whispered," I don't think you're going to get far with that one. I can share if you want?"

I glared at him, then gave him the signal that I wanted to be left alone with her by nodding to the dance floor. Pedro and I have been through many women together. Sometimes we shared, sometimes we didn't, but when one wanted time alone, a subtle nod to the dance floor told the other to get lost. In no time, he was weaving through the crowd towards the dance floor with the two girls behind him.

Finally, some time alone. Turning to her, I watched her as she sipped her drink with a straw, and held in a groan. Her full, pouty lips innocently sucking on the straw had me thinking of them wrapped around my cock as I stared down at her on her knees while I wrapped my fingers in her dark brown locks. God, this was torture. She had no idea the thoughts I was having. If she did I was pretty sure she would be running away scared.

I ordered a whiskey sour and watched her over the brim of my glass. She smiled as she watched her two friends dancing with Pedro. He was sandwiched between the two and giving each equal attention as he smiled at me with a cocky smile. She told me her name was Sofia and she was a college student graduating soon. As I watched her I wondered, had I met my future wife? Only time will tell, but one thing was certain, she was just what my father wanted.
