Chapter 11

The other bartender made my drinks, and I returned to the table, unsure what I was getting myself in the middle of. 

“Here you go, four whiskeys,” I placed the drinks down and left, but the man’s voice stopped me. 

“Why in such a rush?” He asked. 

Turning back to him, I smiled politely. “I have to check on my tables. I’ll be back to check on you in a few,” I said and turned to leave, but the man grabbed my wrist. Instantly his hand was ripped off me and I was placed behind Alek. 

The man and Alek glared at each other. 

“What? Not happy to see an old friend?” the man’s lip curved into a grin. He leaned back against the booth, placing his hands on the top.
