Just then, one of the men walking by all of us stopped walking and took a few steps back toward me. He again shined the light on my face and even seemed to lean over a bit so that he could look at me again. I still could not see his face as it was still shadowed by the top of the lantern. That was when the other two men who were walking with him, stopped and came back to stand around me as well. Did they see something? Did they know something I didn't know? They did not say anything but I could tell they were having a conversation among themselves.
