Chapter XVI: Suspicions
"Detective? Why are you here on our room?" The scholar instantly asked in surprised when he saw the detective coming out from their room which is an unusual sight.
No one tried to speak at first and Anastasia was about to panic when the detective cleared her throat, indicating that she's about to speak.
"Ah...Im actually here to interrogate the prince a little or more like ask some questions about alibis and such." Alice answered simply, immediately coming up with an excuse and Anastasia was impressed on how she doesn't show any of her emotions to the scholar. She looks calm actually while the other was panicking inside like she was caught on doing something illegal or what.
"With Lady Doreen?" Scholar Francis asked them again when he notice the lady on the back beside Prince Alistair. Anastasia freezes and nudge the prince beside her secretly to somehow ask for help but he obviously trying to avoid her gaze.
