Chapter 6

"Akakios", Diya groaned as she shook Akakios' tail.

The aforementioned naga flicked his tail in Diya's direction which made the werewolf move backwards.

"Pesky fly", Akakios muttered in his sleep.

Diya frowned.

She was not a fly!.

She climbed on his tail and hit his chest gently. "Akakios, I'm hungry".

Ever since the incident with the hunters, the naga brothers banned Diya from hunting alone.

Gracchus had already gone hunting before she woke up while the other three were still sleeping.

Diya didn't want to disturb Amosis because she knew he was still a bit upset with her and she didn't  want to disturb Amyntas because-.

Well, just because.

So she was left with Akakios.

Diya pinched his golden nipples which caused the poor naga to jerk his eyes open.

He looked confused for a moment and she smiled at him.

"What do you think you're doing?", he asked, still dazed from sleep.

"I'm hungry".

"Not my business", he said as he flicked her off him. She pouted and scrunched her nose.

Well ouch.

She stood up from the ground and cleared her throat then shrieked, a terrifying scream which pierced the air and almost shook the cave.

They all stood up at once as Amosis hissed at her in annoyance.

"Why are you wailing?", Amyntas asked.

Her own ears were ringing from the echoes of the scream.

"That's what you get for screaming like a banshee", River commented.

"When did you become a banshee?", Akakios asked.

"Ha!".

"I'm hungry".

They all stared at her before Amosis angrily took her outside and into the forest.

He dropped her by a tree. "Sit", he affirmed.

"I'm not a dog", she mumbled after he left but still sat down.

"Diya?", her wolf suddenly called her.

"Yes?".

"Don't you want to find mate? ".

"I want to, River".

Of course she wanted to. She knew a piece of herself was missing and no doubt, she was more than comfortable and happy with the nagas but these half human, half snakes couldn't complete her.

She needed her mate.

And it was starting to suffocate her because each passing day, she felt more distressed.

"I feel like i have no reason to live, let's go and look for him", River spoke.

"But where are we going to start from?, we're now a rogue", Diya reminded her wolf.

"Anywhere Diya, i just want mate", River whined.

"There", Diya looked up and saw Amosis drop a dead bush pig in front of her.

She coiled back in disgust and pressed down the urge to run.

Diya shook her head as he stared at her. In one swift movement, the naga opened his mouth wide and swallowed the bush pig whole.

She could see the pig protruding whole in his stomach. She pressed her lips together.

"I want rabbit", she said quietly.

Amosis then vomited the pig whole at her feet.

Well, it wouldn't exactly be called vomit since he's a snake and he just simply regurgitated but it was still vomit to Diya.

"Eat".

She pouted and looked at him, "No".

Diya stood up and shifted into her wolf before running off.

"Nagini, come back here".

She ignored him and ran until she spotted a fluffy rabbit.

Finally, a real meal.

She killed it swiftly then settled down to her breakfast.

"Don't ever do that again, you hear me?", she heard the voice of Amosis behind her.

She shifted into her human form and turned to him with a pointed finger.

"Stop yelling at me, I've had enough"

Diya had no idea where she got the sudden burst of confidence from because he could eat her within seconds.

Whole. Just like the pig.

He quirked an eyebrow and smirked.

Nagas can smirk?, she asked herself.

She concluded that must be something all males in the universe can do.

"Why are you still upset?", she asked him with a soft voice.

"I'm not upset".

"Oh really?".

He nodded.

"Yet you have been giving me attitude for days", she accused, jabbing her finger into his chest.

Amosis rolled his eyes and smiled. "Don't ever lie to us again", he hissed.

"I didn't", she said quietly.

He scowled at her and she kept silent.

"I'm sorry", she hugged him tightly.

"Yeah, yeah. Now let me eat", he said as he playfully pushed her away and swallowed the pig again.

Ew.

When they got back to the cave, the others were up and Gracchus was back.

"Uhm i need to talk to you", she said making them all look at her.

"To who?", Akakios asked.

"All of you".

Akakios stared at her as Amyntas studied her. Amyntas has never been one for too much words.

He was very observant and Diya had a feeling he knew what he was going to say. After all, he was the oldest and wisest of the four.

Diya shifted under their gazes and bit her lower lip.

"I want to leave".

Gracchus gasped and she closed her eyes shut.

"Why?".

"I need to go and find my mate", she dug her toes into the ground and kept her eyes shut.

"Alright".

Diya opened her eyes immediately at the sound of the voice.

Amyntas.

Well, that was easy, she surmised.

"No, we can't let her go. The world is a dangerous place".

"What if she breaks?", Gracchus asked.

"I'm not a porcelain doll", Diya mumbled.

"What if she snaps?", Amosis asked.

"I'm not a twig", she snapped at him.

"What if she's killed?", Akakios asked.

"I'm not a-".

"Yes?", Akakios looked at her, waiting for her response.

"I can take care of myself", She said stubbornly.

"If you were given the chance to go look for your mate, would you not take it?", Amyntas asked them.

"But she's a girl", Gracchus said.

She glared at him but he paid no attention to her.

"Why are you being such a sexist?", she asked.

"What is a sexist?".

Diya rolled her eyes and hugged Amyntas. "Thank you".

"She's really going?".

"And that's final", she said.

"Are we really letting her go?".

Diya was so happy Amyntas agreed because he was the one whose decisions really mattered as he was the oldest.

She went into the cave and packed a few things together.

"Nagini, stay the night. You can go tomorrow", Amyntas cajoled.

"I know, I'm just excited so I'm packing now".

Amyntas laughed and sat down beside her.  "Where will you go?".

"My friend's new pack. I hope they accept me since I'm now a rogue".

"You're walking to your death", he stated.

"You don't know that", she asserted.

He sighed and looked at her.

"You can always come back".

"I know".

Amyntas wrapped his tail around her and hugged her close to his chest.

"I'll miss you, little one".

"I'll miss you all", she hugged him back.

"We'll miss you too", Amosis said as they all came in.

"I guess I never told you how much I appreciate all of you for everything you've done for me. I'm really grateful and I love all of you so much".

"Thank you", she said, hugging each of them.

"You're welcome, Nagini".

"What's the name of the pack?".

"Moon and Waters pack".

"We'll go with you", Gracchus suggested.

"No, you shouldn't be seen".

"We won't".

"I don't feel comfortable with this, how can you four go with me?. Eight foot long nagas".

"Don't worry about that", they smiled.

Diya stayed the night as promised but got up early the next day.

Amyntas put her in his mouth, he was going to put her in his belly but she objected strongly.

So he put her in his mouth and Diya could say,m, his morning breath wasn't as bad as she thought it would be.

Anyway, they went underneath water as nagas were fast in water only rising for a few moments for Diya to catch her breath.

"Do you even know where we're going?", Gracchus asked.

"Yes, he does", Amosis answered for Amyntas.

"How do you know the pack?", Diya asked when they came up for air.

"We know most supernaturals habitats", Gracchus said.

"Besides we've been around for a while".

"Here we are", Amyntas said as he took her out of his mouth.

She sighed as she stepped on dry land.

This was it.

Behind those large rose bushes were people and houses and stuff.

She was nervous.

Diya turned back to them and Akakios handed her luggage to her.

"Well, i guess this is it", she said, not wanting them to leave.

"Goodbye Nagini".

With a kiss to the forehead from each of them, they left.

She was already missing them.

Diya turned around and breathed in deeply.

Time to test her fate.
