She was troubled.

Her gloomy countenance loomed over the pack house like heavy clouds holding rain. If her empty stares and plodding movements were not enough to deter people from her, her swollen red eyes that were always rimmed with tears made them give her her space. It had been almost a week and she wouldn't even look at her mate. When her children tried to talk to her, she only gave them sad smiles.

This had caused a strain in the bond between her and Calihan. She was distant and sometimes, it was like she wasn't even there. Of course, she could still talk through the link but Diya, it was like she was drowning in an ocean of darkness, she could feel Calihan trying to draw her out but the pall abyss refused to let her up.

Why did this have to happen to her again?.
