View MoreWelcome, dear readers.
Let us begin the tale of Diya McClain, our brown skinned gentle she wolf.
Being Diya McClain was not hard.
As an only child who lives with her abusive father, she certainly had time to herself.
He blamed Diya for her mother's death.
She had saved Diya's life and Diya had lost her voice for weeks after her death.
When she regained her voice, she decided to become a selective mute.
Only because she knew that if she spoke, she would not be heard.
And then, there was the great war that had happened among werewolves, vampires and mundanes (humans).
The mundanes captured all pregnant werewolves and injected them with a special substance with the aim of killing off the young ones.
Some died but others survived with different defects and disabilities.
The humans also poisoned the vampires who also lost the power to read minds.
Diya's mother was pregnant with her at the time of the war. By the time the war was over, Diya had been born a very quiet girl.
Add that to her mother's death and years of abuse and our little shewolf had trisfully shut herself out and kept her mouth close.
If someone was there to care for her, she would break down and talk.
She had told the same thing to everyone who asked about the accident.
Diya told them she remembered nothing.
She lied.
Ofcourse she remembered it like it was yesterday.
She was fifteen when it happened.
Now at the age of twenty one, she did menial jobs to get by everyday.
She cleaned people's houses, lawns, watered the gardens, helped people go on errands.
No, Diya was not an omega.
Her father was a member of the pack who does no work. He told Diya he had lost the will to live after his mate died.
So Diya began to cater for him immediately after her mom died. He stayed at home all day and slept. When he wasn't sleeping, he was drunk.
It was a rare and hard thing for werewolves to get drunk but her father made it possible.
He'd drink carton after carton of alcoholic drinks then the next day, Diya would clean up his vomit.
Because she was mute, she couldn't get work sometimes.
Whenever Diya couldn't bring money home, her father would hit her.
No one knew about this except her best friend, Poppy Winters.
Poppy had threatened to report to the alpha but Diya would beg her everytime not to as she thought she understood that her father's pain was making him act like that.
The last conversation about this matter had made poppy yell at Diya.
"Shut up Diya, losing his mate doesn't give him the right to treat you like that!".
Poppy was an only child too but her mother died after giving birth to her, her father died before she was born.
She lived with her only relative, her grandmother. A sweet old woman with no mate or children.
Everyone calls her Abuela.
Poppy's father was Abuela's only child.
The Starlight pack was filled with different and weird personalities.
Diya was known as the mute girl who killed her mother.
That's what her father had told them and they believed a 41 year old man over a 15 year old mute.
Well, Diya wanted to talk and prove herself but she realized it would be useless.
Whether Diya wanted to admit it or not, it was clear abuse made her a select mute.
According to her, People are ignorant.
They believe what they want to believe, what they wish to believe, what they choose to believe.
They all believed her clumsiness led to her mother's death.
She was cast out.
Not literally though.
When she couldn't get food, she'd go to Poppy's house. Poppy told her to move in with them but Diya refused.
Who will take care of her dad if she left?.
Whoever said being Diya wasn't hard?.
That's a lie.
"Diya!. Where the fuck are you?".
Diya ran into the living room and ducked to avoid the incoming shoe. It missed her head and landed on the couch.
"Where is my food?!".
"If your mother was alive, she would have provided my food".
"Where is my dinner?".
Diya ran into the kitchen and quickly set up the table while ignoring the insults. Her father was murmuring to himself and she knew he was about to sleep soon.
"Stupid bitch".
"Killed my mate"."Destroyed my life"."useless thing".After leaving his food close to him, Diya went to her basement.
Yes, she lived in the basement and It was not very fancy.
A dark basement crawling with insects couldn't exactly be called fancy.
Somehow, Diya's wolf, River was mute too.
She spoke only to Diya who could feel her emotions but she has never spoken to other wolves.
It was like Diya and her wolf isolated themselves from the world.
The question was how long was this going to go on?.
River wouldn't keep quiet about finding her mate.
Diya couldn't help but hope her mate would love her.
Our mate won't condemn us, River had said to her.
Diya waited until her father fell asleep then she cleaned the living room and went to poppy's house.
"Diya tesoro!".
"Hi Abuela", Diya signed at her and kissed her cheek as she walked into the house.
"How are you darling?".
"I'm fine Abuela and you?".
"My back is killing me and my legs hurt", she signed back with a small laugh.
Diya laughed with her.
"Didn't poppy give you a massage?".
"She did but these bones are just too stubborn"."D!", Poppy yelled.
"Hey Pops, how are you?"."Fine. Abuela, i got your fruits", Poppy said to her grandmother.
"Thank you novio", Abuela replied."Diya?".
"Yes Abuela?"."What's wrong with your arm?", Abuela squinted her eyes as she asked Diya.
"It's nothing", Diya smiled and pulled her sleeve lower.
"Tell me dear".
"I only fell and scraped it".Abuela didn't look like she believed Diya but she let it go.
"If It's alright with you Abuela, i would like to stay the night".
"Yes, you can tesoro".
Poppy stared at Diya but said nothing.
Diya gave her the 'drop it' look and poppy looked away.
Knowing poppy, Diya was absolutely sure Poppy won't drop it.
Diya sighed.
She knew she was in for a long night.
She was struggling. But she was also healing. Calihan had suggested therapy and she had concurred so here she was, day twelve of treatment. "Luna, you seem to believe you do not deserve happiness or only bad things keep happening to you. I can say it's quite normal, you may not know or understand why things happen to you yet but your conscious thoughts trick you into believing these made up facts. Just like how there isn't someone behind us but our mind tricks us into believing there is". "If you keep suppressing these feelings or pushing them away instead of trying to overcome or push through, I'm afraid there will be a build up and this can lead to diverse health problems, moreover, it can affect the people in your surroundings". Finally, Luna Diya had learnt her lesson. She had learnt to solve problems not run away from them. That was why when she finished her treatment for the day, she went for a meeting, the meeting that was cut short weeks ago due to the attack that happened
When Diya arrived in Hillnia valley, the abode of the dragons, former king Xerxes was a bit surprised. He was about to ask her why she was all alone but when he saw that her face was as long as a fiddle and that her fingers were playing with her locket, the ancient dragon keep quiet. Her uncle understood at once from the hangdog look on her face so he welcomed her in. Age was beginning to show on the former dragon king. His head was full of greyish white hair and he had wrinkles around his forehead and lips. Yes, he was still strong but his muscles had sagged a little bit and the fierceness that used to be the color of his eyes had now been replaced with a softer look, almost repose. But even if his eyes held calmness, it was the type of calmness before a storm. Diya looked around for the youngest dragon child as she drank her ginger tea. "Mikayla is with her sister. Malaysia just had her second child so she's helping her with chores", her uncle supplied. Diya nodded her head and si
She was troubled. Her gloomy countenance loomed over the pack house like heavy clouds holding rain. If her empty stares and plodding movements were not enough to deter people from her, her swollen red eyes that were always rimmed with tears made them give her her space. It had been almost a week and she wouldn't even look at her mate. When her children tried to talk to her, she only gave them sad smiles. This had caused a strain in the bond between her and Calihan. She was distant and sometimes, it was like she wasn't even there. Of course, she could still talk through the link but Diya, it was like she was drowning in an ocean of darkness, she could feel Calihan trying to draw her out but the pall abyss refused to let her up. Why did this have to happen to her again?. Why her?. Why must being Diya McClain mean her life must be hard?. But she wasn't even Diya McClain anymore. She was Diya Lancaster and yet, her misery still stayed with her. She was very much aware she was stress
Alpha Calihan was being a big baby this morning. Bigger than that one time he stubbed his pinky toe and clung to Diya all day, whining about how painful it was. Even though he had exaggerated, Diya still babied him and stayed with him, pampering him. And now, this morning. The Alpha had an appointment in two hours to meet the guards at the borders and the Luna had an appointment in an hour to join the women for their monthly meeting. "Calihan-i have to get up now", Diya groaned. The alpha only mumbled in reply as he nuzzled his nose closer into her neck, his arms wrapped tightly around her waist and his body on top hers, inbetween her legs. Then he lifted his head, only to lower it in her bosom and rub his face between her breasts. Diya kneaded his soft hair in her hand and watched her man baby with adoring eyes. "ancel 'he 'eein", he mumbled. "I can't cancel. Besides, don't you have to go out soon? I heard some rogues are being troublesome at one of the borders". "-ies". "Hmm
The bell rang, signaling the start of a lesson. Jefferson and his brother were already sat in class, their eyes wavering between the girl few seats from them and the door, patiently waiting for their teacher. Everyone settled down and soon, the Facts and Myths teacher, Doubledecker walked inside. See, her name was actually Mrs Desmond but after some seniors saw her in bikini, they nicknamed her double-decker because her ass was split into four fractions. Students being students somehow ended up carrying the story of Mrs Desmond in weird bikini around the school and ever since then, she had being called that. Behind her back. "Welcome to FM 312. Today is going to be an interactive class. I gave you an assignment which some of you have failed to turn in. I am glad to tell you that it is a part of your continuous assessment. Please open your textbooks to page 18". The flipping of textbooks mixed with disgruntled noises were heard in the classroom as the teacher wrote on the board. "A
Alas, the day had finally come. Blue Rose pack was divided into two. Alpha Calihan sighed in exasperation as he heard the mumblings of his people. Yes, the day was mod. The day his sons were officially recognized as the future Alphas of Blue Rose pack. There were people who complained about their flirting and there were people who doubted their strength. Today might be their eighteenth birthday but were they mentally ready to rule the pack?. After all, their father had taken the role of Alpha immediately he clocked eighteen after losing his father, the twins' grandfather to the great war. But the twins were very different from their father. Unlike Jefferson and Jameson, Calihan didn't have the luxury of leisure when he was a teenager, he was busy training to be a leader. Well, that would be decided later. Besides, only time will tell what the twin Alphas are capable of. For now, everyone was going to enjoy the party. Calihan had allowed his sons throw an outdoor party near a lar
