Chapter 5

The wrong territory

Ryan's POV

My wolf was threatening to leap to the surface with the news of the rogue event.He has been agitated ever since my Beta informed me of the hideout of the rogues not too far from our border. If care wasn't taken, it's likely they would break into the pack.

I decided to handle the operation and not my Beta this time around. The whole forest wasn't that strange to me. My eyes darted to where we heard the sound of a wolf howling in pain.

“You two follow me, the rest of you search the area and don't lose guard.” I ordered my men.

My men and I got to where we heard the noise,in a flash I saw the rogues chasing a white wolf.My wolf took over at once and chased after them when I got there they had surrounded him and were taking a huge chunk of his flesh.

I lunge at them ferociously, not sparing anyone. I don't know where the strange anger came from..

The rogues whimpered in pain and slowly ran away. I didn't chase them because they were headed in the direction where my men were. Blood was dripping from the wolf's body. The white fur was now red. I doubt he was going to survive.

“Shift now!!” I ordered.

It whimpered and completely dropped its head on the floor.

“I think it badly wounded Alpha.” My men showed up from behind.

A strangled gasp left the wolf's mouth. The immense pain was radiating the air it was trying to shift back to its human form.

“Alpha, it is a girl!” My men gasped.

We were shocked. I bent down to take a closer look to see who it was, when I saw who it was I growled loudly.

“DON'T COME ANY CLOSER!!” I growled at my men who were trying to look at her.

“Tasha.” I took off my jacket and covered her.

“Get the car here, we'll be going back to the pack!” I carried Tasha and ran to where the car was.

I had to mindlink my Beta to inform the pack doctor that we were coming.

“Alpha.”

Luke and some other nurses came out with a stretcher. I placed Tasha carefully on it and followed them in. Luke was saying a couple of medical terms which I didn't quite understand when I was about to go into the theater with them. Luke stopped me.

“WHAT!!”

“You can't come in here sir, you have to let us do our work.” He countered.

I yielded and took some steps back not before warning Luke.

“Luke.” He stopped on his track.

“Yes Alpha.”

“She mustn't die,if she dies you will die also.”

Luke gulped in fear and went inside to do his thing.I felt a hand touch me. I looked and saw my Beta. He handed me a shirt I didn't know I was shirtless the entire time I had used my shirt to absorb Natasha's blood.

“Thank you.” I took it from him.

“Care to explain why you are acting up over a rogue?” Connor asked.

“She is not a rogue.” I replied through gritted teeth.

Hours passed and Luke was still not done. I couldn't help but pace around worriedly.The other night we spent together I knew I took advantage of her drunken state. The memories of that night still wakes me up every morning. The image of the blood stained bed and how I left her still haunts me.

“Or did she come here looking for me?”

My eyes widened at the sudden realization.

“Alpha Ryan.” Luke came out from the theater his lab coat was stained with blood.

“I have a….bad news Alpha.”

“I told you to save her!!” I marched to where he was and pinned him to the wall.

Connor stood up from where he was seated and tried to free Luke from me.

“Keep your wolf in check Ryan, you know how Luke is determined to do his work!” Connor yelled at me.

“She…. is…not…dead.. Alpha.” He said amidst the choking.

“What?” I released my grip making Luke fall to the ground with a loud thud.

“Then what's the bad news?” Connor frowned.

Luke stood up from the floor and met my gaze. “She is an Omega, Alpha Ryan.”

“What?”

“She is an Omega sir,she has lost too much blood and she can't survive.We all know that Omegas are weaker than us on a normal day not to talk of what she has gone through.”

“Cut the long story short Luke!!” I shouted at him.

“She needs blood.” He responded.

“And we don't have her type of Blood here.” He finished his statement.

“Unless?” He looked at Connor and I but shook his head immediately as the words left his mouth.

“Unless what Luke! Do I look like I'm in the mood for your jokes this morning!!!” My wolf was getting angry.

“I'm sorry Alpha what I meant was that unless you can give her your blood. An Alpha's blood will save her.”

“Are you crazy?” Connor scolded him.

“He can't give his blood to someone that is not his mate! Don't you want him to be mated!!”

“Give her my blood.” I looked at the both parties that were arguing.

“What!!”

“Give her my blood,do anything to save her please.”

Luke glanced between Connor and me, looking uncertain but determined. “Very well, Alpha,” he said, nodding. “I'll get the transfusion started immediately.”

Connor grabbed my arm, pulling me aside. "Ryan, think this through. Giving her your blood could have side effects—it's not just about saving her life. An Alpha's blood… it creates a bond. You may be tied to her in ways you can't reverse."

I clenched my jaw, but the thought of Tasha dying because I hesitated even for a moment was unbearable. “I'm aware of the risks, Connor. I made my decision.”

As I watched Luke prepare, my pulse quickened. I knew the bond could become something uncontrollable, something even beyond my strength. But when I looked through the glass at Tasha's frail form, I knew there was no turning back.

Just as I was about to enter the room, a low growl sounded from the hallway. We turned to see an unfamiliar figure approaching—another Alpha, eyes dark and intent, his gaze fixed on Tasha's door.

“What are you doing here?” I demanded, my own wolf bristling at his presence.

He smirked, an unsettling glint in his eyes. "I've come to take what's mine."
