As the race was set and the crowd erupted in excitement, I felt a knot of anxiety tighten in my chest. The stakes had never been higher, and the thought of me being used as a bet in Ricky's twisted game made my blood boil. What I did not expect was Tyler agreeing to it.

Before the race could start, I grabbed Tyler's arm and pulled him aside, my voice filled with frustration. "Why did you agree to bet me, Tyler?" I demanded, my tone sharp with accusation.

Tyler sighed heavily, his expression pained as he met my gaze. "It's the only way, Val," he explained, his voice tinged with regret. "If I don't agree, Ricky will take my car and besides, it's the rules."

I shook my head in disbelief, unable to comprehend how Tyler could have made such a reckless decision. "I can't believe you would risk everything like this," I muttered, my voice barely above a whisper.
