Once we passed the barrier, we quickly started diving to our destination. It was as if Amaya was racing time itself, once we got out of the open road and started to encounter traffic I could feel the breath I was holding in release at every stop light and sign.

“Where are we going? You need to be pushing a hundred?” I asked as we stopped at a red light.

“Well, I haven’t been out of that town for months and neither have you, so we are going to the one place where we can party, drink, eat, and have fun,” she said, turning her head to me. She looked at my hair and started to laugh.

“On second thought, you're not going anywhere with your hair like that,” she said as she ran her hand through my hair. It sent a warm spark that surrounded my head as I closed my eyes and leaned into her touch.
