ELOWEN'S POV
Blood drained from my face as I struggled to respond. “How..how did you know?” I stuttered in disbelief.
How did he find out about my pregnancy?
“Your little maid friend.” He said, laughing hysterically. “You actually thought she wouldn't say a word to me? Have you forgotten the rules of the Manor, Elowen?”
How could she do this to me? She knew how far I've gone in this Manor and everything I had to endure.
“She told you?”
“Yes.” He scoffed, “She thought you told me already. Spilled everything right in my palm.”
“It's so dumb of you, Elowen. You were actually planning on keeping this a secret from me and running off with my child? The heir to my pack?” He continued, absolutely berating me. “What were you thinking, huh? That I would not catch you?”
His smirk deepened as he stared at me darkly, “You'll rot in here until he's born and I am done with you. And you better pray it is a boy you're carrying, else you'll be in more trouble.”
I whispered, trying to call him. “Vonn..how could you do this to me? How..how..how could you say that to me?”
He leaned closer to the bars, his smile fading into a cold stare. “Elowen.. you're still under the delusions that you actually mean something to me? Gosh! You've got to be kidding me right now.”
“But…” I tried talking but I was cut short.
“But what about Elowen?” He said, “What's so hard that you're unable to understand. Huh? Do you want me to put it in simple terms for you?”
“You don't mean anything to me. You never did, and you never will. You're a breeder, a tool and that's what you'll always be. It's best if you stick that to your brain cells.”
“I..I thought you loved me Cyrus…”
“Probably in your dreams, Elowen.” He laughed, “You're nothing to me. Your job here is to breed and produce an heir for me. Nothing else. This isn't some sort of fairytale you have pictured in your mind or did your brother lie to you about this?”
“He said we were mated.” I replied, “You're my mate. Right?”
Suddenly, he burst out laughing. “Gosh Elowen, you're hilarious!”
“Your mate? Are you joking right now?”
“You're.. you're not my mate? We..aren't mated?” I stuttered, my hands shaky.
“C’mon Elowen! I thought you were much smarter than this.” He mocked, “How could I be like this to my mate? It's not possible? We're not mates nor are we bonded or mated.”
“How..how..how..could you keep such a secret from me?” I broke down in tears, my hands slamming the bars of the cell.
“Tell that to your brother. I made my intention clear to him when he gave you up to me.” Cyrus spat, “And to my defense, I tried bonding with you..but it just wasn't working. I thought maybe our countless sex sessions would add a bit of spark but..it just wasn't it!”
I shut my eyes as I watched him leave without batting an eye on me. He turned his back from me and walked away, smiling darkly.
The doors to the dungeon slammed shut the moment he left, dimming the light which escaped from the opening and leaving me with the weight of my own despair.
But suddenly, something weird happened. The dungeon which was silent a second ago was broken by the sound of footsteps and muffled sounds which was strange because Cyrus had left just a second ago.
My head snapped up as I saw wolves bearing the mark of the SilverMoon pack dragged a broken and beaten figure into the dimmed light.
I squinted at the figure before a gasp escaped my lips.
It was Cyrus.
His bloodstained shirt was dragged by one wolf who held a dagger to this throat, pressing just enough to draw out blood.
“The great Alpha Cyrus.” The wolf growled, “After sending your men to ambush us at the Landor Forest, did you really think you would go scot free and we'll let you get away with it?”
“Kill him!” Another wolf yelled, “An eye for an eye!”
Cyrus gazed toward my cell, a calculating malice glinting in his eyes. “You want revenge, right? Take her instead.”
The wolves glanced at each other, confusion plastered on their faces. The one with the dagger held us close to his neck and groaned, “Her?”
“Yes. Her!” Cryus said in panic, “She is not just any prisoner.” His tone is calculating and dubious.
“The lady you're all staring at is Elowen Wynter, the Lycan princess of the Heliotrope. We all know Alpha Dorian despises lycans. Just imagine his happiness when he cuts her throat in front of everyone. Don't you think that'll be great?”
My heart tightened. Alpha Dorian who's widely regarded and feared as the Beast of the East?
The wolves exchanged glances again, then sneered. “A lycan princess, huh?”
“Get her out!” One of the wolves commanded. Cyrus limped over to my cell, smiled darkly before yanking me out.
I tried fighting against him but his grip was too strong. He grabbed my hands, handing me over to the pack of wolves.
“Let's see how special you truly are.” One of the wolves.” One scoffed.
My heart pounded with a mixture of emotions, fear and betrayal flooding through me as I was pulled into the night and despite carrying his child that he's now fully aware of, Cyrus didn't hesitate not to trade my life.
I barely heard his mocking laughter even as they dragged me out. They threw me into a car, pinning me between wolves whose eyes glared at me like predators.
The ride to the SilverMoon was pure torture, every bump in the road jarring my nerves until my palms were covered with sweat.
The car screeched to a halt, and
the wolves grew silent. From the shadows outside, a pair of glowing eyes stared straight at me.
ELOWEN'S POV Dorian was uneasy.Who was this woman who rattled him so badly?“I'll handle her. Just tell her I'm unavailable for now.” He ordered the guard. “Make sure she doesn't find out I'm here. Got it?”“But she asked to see you Alpha…” the guard persisted, trying to convince Dorian otherwise. “Miss Leah asked to see you Alpha, she said it's quite urgent.”“Are your ears for decoration?” Dorian snapped, “I told you to tell her that I'm unavailable! Got it?”The guard flinched, throwing me a dark glare before he left. “Sure Alpha.. I'll relay your message to Miss Leah.” The guard replied, looking at me with a dark glare. Dorian dismissed him shortly after, and ordered him not to say a word about his whereabouts to Leah.“I'm sorry about that. Did I startle you?” He asked.“No, it's fine.” I responded, avoiding eye contact with him. “But can I ask you a question?”“Sure. You're free to. Go ahead!” He urged.“You seemed nervous when the guard mentioned her name.” I said, “Could
ELOWEN'S POV A tall dark figure emerged from the dark shadows, his prensence demeaning. His hands wrapped around my wrists as he led me away.“I'll take care of her from here.” The figure said, marching down the hallway. His steps echoed as the guards followed him along the hallway. “We can take care of her from here, Alpha. You don't have to stress yourself over a lycan.” One of the wolves suggested, grabbing my right hand. He insisted I followed them but Alpha Dorian declined and he insisted on dealing with me by himself.“I said it's fine!” He growled, his voice cold. “Don't question me further. I'll handle it from here. Got it?”“But Alpha…what if she tries to hurt you? She's a lycan after all!” Another guard persisted, urging Alpha Dorian to let go of my hand.“Are you insane?” Alpha Dorian retorted, yelling at the wolf. His grip on my wrist tightened as he proceeded to lead me out of the hallway.Something..which looked like a secret place where no one is allowed to be in.“

ELOWEN'S POV I sprang up on the floor, grabbed my box which was filled with my necessities before heading towards the door. My hands reached for the door knob. My heart beating faster with every step I took, adrenaline rushed through my body, hastening and jolting me back to reality. This is my only way of getting out of this misery. This is the only way I'll be able to save my child and prevent it from being used as a continuation of Cyrus’s game. The worst mistake I could ever make is to give birth to an heir for him. He would end me immediately, citing that my job was done here.Every move of mine was calculated. I had it at the back of my mind that I must never be caught or seen by anyone, including the guests. I couldn't afford to make a sound or to be seen.Fortunately, there was no one in sight as I stepped out of my room. I was grateful that the celebration was moved to the West wing of the house. There were few foreseen issues which resulted in Cyrus changing the location
ELOWEN'S POV I turned quickly, hurrying to the opposite hall, desperate to escape being caught by Cyrus. If he catches me eavesdropping on their conversation, he might reconsider his decision of letting me out today. This was the only chance I've got to escape this horrible life I've been living here. I couldn't take it anymore as hot tears poured from my eyes. Every step I took, my heart thudded more. My mind raced as the truth slapped me right across my face. Cyrus would never see me as his mate, nor his equal. To him, I'll always be a sex object and a baby machine. He doesn't acknowledge me nor does he care about me, all he wants is for me to bear an heir for him.I was just a tool…a pawn in his game of power.Fortunately, I was unable to tell him about my pregnancy. He does not deserve to be the father of my child, nor does he deserve to be in our life. My breath seized in shallow gasps and I was unable to think straight. “What was I supposed to do now? What's the next step f
ELOWEN'S POV “She seems to be of great value in more ways than one.” Cyrus said, his tone sounded casual, almost like a smug.Unfortunately, my curiosity got the best of me as I thought to myself. “Who is he talking about?” “What other value does she hold then?” A voice responded. It was his beta, Bella.Cyrus let out a sinister chuckle. “Leverage.” He said, “Her bloodline makes her the prize, the one true heir to the Heliotrope’s throne. She is the key to securing alliances and destroying all the possible future threats that might appear. She is our key to power, Bella. With her being here, we'll have everything we can possibly wish for.”The sound of my name rang repeatedly in my head, as the fresh breath of air slapped across my face. He continued, “She will draw them out. When they figure out and realize who she truly is, they'll come running back for her..and we will destroy them, sparing none of them. By then, it'll be too late for them to have her back.”I gripped the bars o
