‘It’s alright. I’m by the door already.’ I mind linked Mason who kept bugging me that Mom wanted a meeting with us.

“Okay, great.” He ended the link.

I twisted the door knob and opened the door. When I realized that the only people in the meeting room were Shane, Mom, Mrs. Bea, Scarlett, and Mason, it dawned on me what the discussion of the meeting was going to be about and that made me feel a heavy weight in my chest.

With slow steps, I walked up to the meeting table and had a seat.

“Good evening everyone.” I greeted and turned to Luna, “what’s the point of the meeting?”

“You should already know that it’s because of the Ardolfs. They aren’t such easy people that we’ll just keep quiet about when we know that they could probably hop on us anytime soon.” Mom said, though her tone was a bit cold and she was trying to hide her worry, the fear still rang in her voice. ‘The Ardolfs are stronger than we think, you all know that, right?”
