My phone began to chime from the nightstand. I dried my hand with a towel and tossed the towel aside before walking over to it and answered the video call from Chloe, sitting on the bed.

“Hey girl!” She chimed, wiggling her fingers at me. “How are you?”

“I’m really good. It’s nice to speak with you again. How are you as well?”

“Yes. I’ve just been a bit busy lately and it’s been affecting my schedule so I’ve been unable to talk to you.”

“Me too,” I lied, not wanting to let her know that I had been missing to avoid drawing suspicions. “So how’s everything at your pack?” I leaned back in one of Alpha’s Keegan’s pillows and the way his forest and lavender mixed scent filled my nostrils was both discomforting and satisfying.
