Chapter 23: "Try"

I was caught off guard when Damon hugged me but for some reason, I didn't try to move away from him like I usually do. The look in his eyes earlier... seemed so lonely.

A feeling I was too familiar.

Suddenly, a pretty lady with her simple white shirt and denim shorts came up to us saying, "You two lovebirds seem to be lost."

"Ah yes, we are." Damon was surprised, he immediately lets go of me. I was dumbfounded too but I managed to reply, "I mean, yes, we're lost but no, we're not a couple."

"yet." Damon smirked as he looked at me devilishly.

And there he goes again. Being the mischevious little devil with his lines and tricks to make any naive girl fall for him. How annoying. I rolled my eyes at him and said, "Never."

"Never say never." Damon nudged, "You might end up eating your words, darling."

"If you say so."
