LOGINLeaving Leo and some of my other family in the office, my mother continues to lead me through the pack house and up those beautiful winding steps I had seen, even more memories from the short years that I lived here swirling around my mind with each picture hung on the wall, dip in the hall or even a person that I would see. Buddy had told me the answer as to why father had taken me all of those years ago was in my memories, could it be hidden within the ones breaking out of their cages now? The unknown of why I was taken by father had clouded my brain the past week but allowing my mother to wash my hair to make it easier to cut, I didn’t feel that constant longing for answers, as though all of the answers I had been searching for, were right here. I’m soon led into the one room I had accidentally, remembered from one of those flashbacks, such a room allowed me to gasp slightly. “Was this my room?” I asked looking around at the familiar white walls with pink fairytale characters and
The moment I walked through their grand doors of the pack house, an odd but wonderful feeling of nostalgia filled my senses, the beautiful architecture which filled my vision as I looked around the building was mesmerising. The colour scheme was deep red and gold, very elegant but posh in a sense, the staircase which led up to an upper balcony and what seemed to be even more rooms, filled with so many people, smiles on their faces as they all seemed to get on with their lives. This place was homey in a way, the warmth which radiated from each wall and person alike, the heaviness I had became used to back at no man’s land, it was gone. The deeper I was led through the beautiful halls of the lobby, the more flashes of memories I thought I had long forgotten seemed to ignite within me. The many times I would run through this building, happy filled giggles escaping my lips as I went, my arms stretched out wide as though I was some kind of aeroplane. Or the moments I would be snuggled up
My breaths still left my lips in shaky, uneven gasps as the car door closer to Leo is opened, the air that floated in seemed lighter than what I had experienced in the past, such a feeling it was as though my body belonged here in some strange way, this place was comfortable to me. Giving my hand one last squeeze and a kiss on my lips, Leo climbs out of the car giving those around the first view of him before it was my turn. Gulping slightly but taking his extended hand, I now take my turn to climb out of the car and out into the warm breeze of Spring, the moment I did, those around seemed to gasp while others, began to cry silently as though seeing me was beyond upsetting or surprising. “I am so proud of you.” Leo whispers pulling me away from the door slightly so it could close, while holding my shaking hands in his, but my eyes simply moved around the area feeling the same sense of familiarity rushing through my senses. Knowing my brain was focused on taking each area of our sur
The next week seemed to be a blur, each day was filled with new tasks that I was given by the officials, so much so, Leo and I barely had time to see each other. The only times we’d get to speak was in the morning when we woke up or late at night, this point seeming to frustrate Leo and according to Maria, who had been by my side from the start, many of his staff pushing at the time apart for us both to get such tasks done… they received the same fate as the official I met that first day. Due to my looming coronation, I spent many hours with dress makers who with the help of Leo, began to design my dresses for the day, one for the ceremony which would be beyond large and elegant while the other, a less formal but still beautiful dress to be worn at the party. While Leo designed the dress, I was stood in my place getting measured, the women seeming to take great pleasure poking me with needles in the process, I felt as though I was some kind of ragdoll with the number of pinholes tha
The moment I locked eyes with Buddy; I couldn’t help but smile watching as he slowly stumbled over to the edge of the border between no man’s land and this Alpha border. His old dark brown walking stick in his hand, his famous pocket watch hanging from his pocket and his smile, the warmest and welcoming smile you’d ever see. “Buddy, you’re looking well.” I smiled pulling away from Leo slightly to talk with Buddy, which from the annoyance which still continued to pour from him and his hands grasping my waist and pulling me into his chest, Leo didn’t like very much. “I am doing well my dear but look at you, this is the healthiest I believe I have ever seen you, most feared the very opposite effect had happened when you did not return from your hunt.” Buddy exclaimed as much as his tired voice would allow, where I laughed a little looking up at Leo, whose eyes also sat on Buddy, but not with the same happiness I was feeling. “I was kidnapped by this guy.” I joked while taking Leo’s
Once I had helped Leo to handle more of his business and we were able to eat lunch together, portions that I still hadn’t been able to finish even half while Leo, can sit through and eats two other helpings, I sat beside him in a more than luxurious car heading towards these two packs. I did wonder why we didn’t travel in wolf form, it would not only be quicker, but it was the only way as a rogue you can travel, most of us don’t have access to cars. But Leo was quick to remind me that only regular shifters would travel such a way, he has access to the most expensive cars to escort him to whichever destination he wishes. As Alpha King, he must keep up appearances and demand such a royal welcome to whichever pack he was entering, the only time he will use his wolf to travel is in dire circumstances or if he wishes to arrive in secret to plan his attacks. But this thought did take away from the terrifying realisation that I was now travelling back to a place I once lived for much of
