Chapter 45
Sara POV
I head to my room once Alex leaves the suite and sit on the king-sized bed. The bed is decorated with rose petals while scented candles are placed around the bed waiting to be lit for the wedding night. I sigh at the over-the-top decoration and fall on to the bed in half laying position as I swing my legs a bit. My muscles relax as they come in contact with the soft mattress while my eyes take in the rest of the room.
The walls of the room are painted white like in most of the hotels and have dark wood furniture around the suite. The bed is placed in the middle of the room while there is a floor to ceiling glass wall right behind the bed. There is a nightstand placed on the right side of the bed with a hotel voucher placed on it while the left side is empty.
Chapter 46Zoey POVI exited the lobby and stood outside the grand hotel, waiting for a cab to pull over while my eyes unknowingly flickered up to the top floor of the hotel. A part of me wished that the unnamed man would come and stop me, would tell me that he would like to know me but another part of me slapped me with the hard truth and reminded me how absurd that sounds. I have already taken the liberty to imagine him as my future and I should be ashamed of it. He is a married man and there is a high chance that he didn’t even knew that I’m not his wife but some random girl. Although even after knowing the brutal truth, an almost nonexistent part inside me hoped that he would not consider what we did, a
Chapter 47Sara POVI woke up from the sun's rays hitting my face and making me hot all over. The glass wall allowed the direct sunlight to hit my face, ‘I should have closed the curtains’, I thought. Yawning loud and stretching like a kitten, I lazily remained laying on the bed since it was just one of the days when I didn’t even want to lift a finger. Unfortunately, I knew I would have to be up in some time since I need to get ready before Alex arrives.I picked up my cell phone from the nightstand and saw that I forgot to close my gallery. Not wanting to turn this lazy morning into a depressed and frustrating day, I closed the gallery and continued to use my cell phone. I checked for any text from Alex but there was none, so I moved to check on Lucas and my family. After being sure I have checked on everyone and there is nothing unanswered, I sighed and laid on the bed for few more minutes. I was almost asleep when my 10
Chapter 48Alexander POVAdrian grew more and more restless inside me as I neared the packhouse. He wasn’t thrilled that we returned instead of going on a searching spree but it was necessary. I knew that if I went myself, I would end up killing innocent people and worse losing control.I breathed in, remembering the exercise I learned years ago to control my rage while my knuckles turned white due to my death grip on the steering wheel. I knew the breathing exercise isn’t of much use as my eyes were snapping from brown to gold while my canines kept extending from time to time, I knew some more and I will be on a killing spree, not stopping till I find her.My senses were hypersensitive, catching every scent and the slightest of noise around me. Even though I was in my car and driving very fast, I could still hear the sound of twigs snapping whenever an animal ran through the forest. The pack lands weren’t much far f
Chapter 49Zoey POVMy eyes stared outside of the window at nothing particular while my mind was engrossed in its own thoughts. Never did I thought life would change so easily for me. Just in a night, I went from someone who had nothing to lose to someone who got everything and then saw it ripped away from them. The irony is I had no control over anything that happened. There have been times when I felt that life could no longer get harder than it already is but life made it a priority to prove me wrong every time. For the first time in my whole life, I went to a bar to drink away my sorrows but I end up having sex with a complete stranger and the worst part is I feel this undeniable attraction and connection with that stranger. If someone had told me this yesterday, I would have laughed because I have never seen two people loving each other to every bit. My grandmother always told me that love is just a human concept, it’s all about chemicals and p

Chapter 50Sara POVI reached the pack grounds and breathed in some air while slowing down my pace as the packhouse came into my view. I started walking my way as I neared the threshold of the packhouse and made my way to my room to change into my training clothes. As soon as I entered my baby pink sanctuary, I breathed in contentment. My eyes drifted to my nightstand while my legs moved on their own accord in the direction of the frame placed on the nightstand. My fingers traced the old Sara in the picture as I got close enough to the picture and a small smile made past my lips.I shook my head and decided to get changed when I saw it’s 11:50, in the digital watch placed beside the frame. I went into the bathroom and changed into my black track leggings and black sports bra with a black sports t-shirt. I then undid my half bun and pulled all my hair in a sleek ponytail.Once ready, I wore my trainers and walked out of my room f
Chapter 51Alexander POVI drove inside the pack territory and was driving hastily towards the packhouse when my eyes spot Sara standing in the middle of the way. Not wanting to run over her, I pulled up my car while my brain was barely paying any attention to the situation as I was busy trying to formulate a plan to find my mate.I hurriedly got out of my car to ask Sara what happened while she took in my appearance. The anger on her face was like a trigger for me and Adrian, as my soon confused state changed into realization. Everything hit me like a truck, the wedding, the mutual consent to be chosen mates, the drive, and leaving her at the hotel. My mind also didn’t forget to remind me of the fact that I practically got wasted after dropping her at the hotel. As the realization sets in, another revelation hit me like a rock. Not only have I disappointed my best friend, but I have also cheated on my wife on the very first night of our weddi
Chapter 52Lucas POVWatching the most feared Alpha walking on this land, on his knees with tears trailing his eyes vanished my anger and worry took over me. Alexander was a force to reckon with and I knew he never broke down because he was so hard on himself and this wasn’t him.My eyes shifted to Sara, who was also staring at Alex with worry in her eyes and I knew my twin had the same thoughts. Growing up together, we knew each other inside-out and this was not Alex. I nodded in Sara’s direction before we both began walking in Alexander’s direction. Sara placed a hand on Alex’s shoulder and when he didn’t stop sobbing, she sat on her knees and assured him.The scene in front of me gave me a glimpse of our old Sara, the one who was empathetic, who was kind and caring, and not a ruthless killer. After calming down, Alex began apologizing to Sara and I could see the guilt on his face. However, I was a brother too and th
