Kyla pov

“How was your day?” I asked Justin excited as I laid on the bed resting my head on his chest as usual.

“I'm going to eat at the restaurant today: the Salmon there is delicious,” We always share details of our day before going to bed. But this time I did not understand what he's talking about because Justin doesn't even eat all this. I raised my head from his chest and turned to look at his face with my face squeezed.

“When did you start eating these things?” I found it really odd because Justin has disliked raw food since our college days.

He looked quite surprised when he heard the question I asked, my suspicions were wild seeing the look on his face.

“I met a partner who introduced me to it.” The issue of eating raw foods wasn't that serious but I noticed that he's been adopting some new habits which are totally unlike him, he's changed his perfume, he's now eating raw foods and he doesn't even get intimate with me anymore.

I am beginning to feel distance from him which is a feeling I hate. I don't know, maybe I'm just being too sensitive or my suspicions are actually true because so many things are happening at the same time and it's creating a bridge between both of us.

I rested my head back on his chest and robbed it softly. “You know I've been thinking, it's better I return to the gallery. I have rested enough being a housewife.” Justin sat up immediately he heard what I said.

“Why are you thinking of returning to the gallery? The gallery is doing good without your presence, just keep doing your thing here in the house as my wife.” I felt disrespected when I heard what Justin said to me about remaining in the house as his house wife.

Ever since we got married I have done everything to please him. I sacrificed my position in the gallery just to make him happy and here he is still insisting that I remain an ordinary housewife?

“Is there something going on in the gallery that you are hiding from me?” All of a sudden my suspicions were getting the best of me and I was getting uncontrollable.

“Kyla please stop, I had a long day at work so I don’t want to start this with you tonight.”

“Are you trying to call me a nagging wife? Justin, all I want is to return to the gallery. Why are you making it a big deal?”

“Kyla, you can't just walk into the gallery anytime you want, this is a business not your playground.” Silence fell in between both of us as I was too hurt to say anything at the moment.

Justin looked at my face for a little while and held my hand lovingly, “ I know that both of us did everything to make that company what it is today but that doesn't give you the right to walk into the company anytime we choose, when the time comes I will find a position in the gallery that fits you.” Justin said and pecked me before going to bed.

I was emotionally drained, seated on the bed all by myself with a husband that doesn't even care about how I feel anymore. Justin wasn't always like this which is why I have this feeling that he's cheating on me and my intuition is never wrong.

His phone was right beside me and I was tempted to go pick it up but I stopped myself because going through his phone would only mean doing extra. “Justin would never cheat on me.” I tried convincing myself before going to bed.

********

“Justin.” I said a little on top of my voice the moment I woke up from a horrible nightmare. I stretched my hand and noticed that Justin was no longer on the bed.

When I was about to start panicking I heard a sound coming from the bathroom which means Justin is having his morning bath. I was about to go to bed when his phone lit up on the bed displaying a W******p message.

I was so tempted to check who the message is from but I didn't want to go extra mile just because I suspect he's cheating on me, at the same time as his wife I was so curious to know what is going on in his life right now so I picked up the phone immediately to see who the messages from.

“How was the salmon tonight? Did it change your stubborn taste?

“Yes, you always bring me new experiences.” My heart dropped the moment I read his response.

“This is just the beginning.”

“Couldn't be more excited.” I looked at the bathroom door still in  disbelief that Justin is truly having an affair. I clicked on the lady's profile and realized her name is Ella but her picture wasn't on display.

There were dozens of messages exchanged, often daily.

I dropped the phone back on the bed with a heavy heart, while pretending to be asleep so that he doesn't suspect I read his messages. My heart ached so much that I couldn't sleep back thinking about the messages that I read on his phone.

******

The next morning,

Justin was ready to leave for work while I was still laying on the bed acting unwell so I didn't cook anything for breakfast. Justin, always caring, offered to take me to the hospital if need be, but I was too upset to do anything that he wanted.

“Are you sure you'll be fine all by yourself?”

“Stop acting like you care, Justin.” I didn't mean to speak to him that way but my emotions at this moment were totally uncontrollable.

“Make sure you call me if it gets worse than this.” I couldn't respond to what he said because he was making me feel stupid thinking he actually cares while he is cheating on me.

“Watch your back Justin.” I said to him angrily before he walked out of the room. I'm sure that word will keep lingering in his head which is why I said it.

The moments Justin stepped out of the room I sat up on the bed and tears welled down my eyes.

My phone beeped and I picked it up immediately to see who the messages were from.

“I'm sure you feel irritated because it's that time of the month so I'm not upset.” I covered my mouth with my hand and started crying uncontrollably, how is this perfect man cheating on me?

Her relationship with Justin was getting worse every day. They do not talk to each other; they just do their things without asking each other how they feel or what they want. Most times they don't even see each other for a month or more. They sleep in the same house as strangers and not as people in a rela

Writer's povKayla knew that she shouldn't have said the thing that she said but she was just too frustrated that she didn't think about how her mom would feel.Looking back now she realized how horrible Her mom has always made her feel and the way she always makes everything her fault in the end was really unfair. What hurts her the most is that her mom still blames her for her baby’s death. Mother has never thought about how she feels or the things she goes through, the only thing she cares about is herself and how rich you would become if both of them stays married. While Kayla was still upset about the call with her mom Sally walked into the house looking a little upset.“Hey.” Sally dropped her bag on the table looking very exhausted and frustrated at the same time. Kayla's POVWhen Justin finally left, I was so upset that I wanted to hit him really hard because how does he still have the right to sit down here and have a conversation with me and want both of us to go back to the way we used to be? Even though I hate it so much that we've turned out this way, I cannot let my guard down anymore and return to him. We’re a closed chapter, and I'm never going back down that lane again.Today Sally wouldn't be working at the club; it's her day off over there. I didn't want to disturb her with my issues anymore, which is why I didn't bother to tell her that Justin was at the house, and it doesn't feel like I was lying because I told her I didn't go anywhere again, so I just had to make sure he was away before she returned.“I can't believe he actually found where I live. I know that there is no way Lucy could have given him the address because she's definitely on my side. She's not like my mom, who has never picked my side.” I thought to myself, still

Kayla's POVI was very irritated when I heard the question that he asked because he is supposed to be concerned about me and hate himself for what he did to me, but instead he is here still trying to make things worse between both of us by asking me stupid questions about my relationship with Zach.“What makes you think you have the right to ask me such a question?” “Don't try to ignore my question. I just asked you a question, and I need you to respond immediately.”“Why?” I was fuming at this point because his level of stupidity was something that I couldn't stand anymore. “You did whatever you did to me without thinking of how I would feel, and here you are trying to question me about how I live my life and who I speak to? Need I remind you that both of us are no longer married and we do not have any relationship, so I would advise you to use your head and stop trying to bring words out of my mouth.” I was so upset that the sight of him disgusted me even more now.“Kayla, I know

  • The Price Of Betrayal: A Matter of Revenge    Chapter 43

Writer's POVThe news about Sally and Kendrick's relationship spread across the company, and everyone was talking about their relationship even though there wasn't any solid proof. The only thing they could use was the image that was taken during the dinner party. Sally felt very embarrassed once again because she was seen as a whore who wants to leech on Kendrick because he is now the present CEO of the company, and that is an image she hates the most, but she was unable to defend herself because it will take a lot to convince every staff member in the company that both of them are not in a relationship. Sally thought it would be smart to, first of all, go to Mr. Kendrick's office and apologize to him for making them start such stupid rumors around the company. She thought he would be regretting why he stepped in for her in the first place and why he chose to take her out for dinner yesterday. “Good day, sir,” He raised his head to look at the moment she walked into his office. “

Writer's POVTwo days later.Sally got to work extremely early because she didn't want anyone to get there before her, especially after what happened last week. She arranged her desk properly and sat down on the chair, waiting for everyone to resume work for the day. While everyone was resuming, she chose not to lock eyes with any of them because she was still kind of upset with them even though she got her lick back that day.Chris walked in, and unlike before, she didn't greet him even though she saw him walk inside. After what they did to her, she decided she wasn't going to act stupid towards them anymore, and she's going to act like every other staff member without trying to make herself act too good to be promoted. Sally decided to drop the idea of getting promoted and just enjoy her work experience. Maybe that way she will feel better.“Bring the file to my table now.” Chris called her using the landline; he could have easily called her name like he used to scream at her, but h
