Kyla pov

I decided to pay a visit to my best friend. We both agreed to meet at the bar where she works at night.

“Babes, you do not look good at all, why are your eyes swollen?” Sally asked me.

“Sally, I have a feeling Justin is really seeing another woman.” I confess to her being unable to hold back my tears. I have been crying all day Sally, I don't know how to handle the situation.

“You know that's impossible right?”

“It is, I went through his messages.”

“What?” Sally said a little on top of her voice.

Justin and I used to be envied in school. We were this famous couple that no one could come in between. Maybe he has finally grown tired of loving one woman in so many years.

Sally was furious because she's been there all through, she knows the sacrifices that I made just so that this marriage could be where it is today.

“Why would he even think of doing such a thing to you?”

“You never know, maybe he's tired. I mean it's been years already.”

“Don't you dare say that, you sacrificed a lot for this relationship so it's not going to end like that. Tell me what's her name?”

“Ella Brey, I don't know who she is but…”

“Wait a minute.. are you talking of the same Ella Brey?”

“Is she someone I'm supposed to know?” I asked Sally curiously because she seemed to know who this Ella Brey is.

“Everyone, especially in the gallery knows who she is. She's married to Zach Fleming.”

“Seriously?” Zach Fleming is a son of the flaming family, they are one of the richest in the country.

“So what the hell is she doing with my husband?”

“I am as surprised as you are, no offense but your husband is nowhere close to Zach's status.” I was in deep thoughts still trying to understand the reason why she is with my husband in the first place when she has someone like Zach by her side.

“Work calls, you know I'm actually thinking of quitting this bar job and just focused on my morning shift at the company.” I was still thinking about what she just told me so I couldn't even respond to what she was talking about.

“Kyla, I know this isn't easy for you, if I were in your shoes I wouldn't know how to handle such a situation as well, so I want you to calm down and not do anything stupid.”

“Sally, you don't understand how I feel, he betrayed me, he broke the trust in our relationship. Do you even have an idea of how that hurts?”

“Kyla, you're drinking too much already, let me help you get a cab, so I can go back to my work.” I don't even want to look at his face right now so going home it's not what I want.

“I'm fine, I'm just going to finish this bottle and go home.”

“Are you sure?” I forced a smile immediately and nodded my head.

Sally went ahead to start her work while I continued to drink, when the bottle finished I remembered the promise I made to Sally but I couldn't keep it because I needed more drinks. Maybe after drinking I would be able to feel better.

I requested another bottle, and after that I still requested another one until I was completely wasted but the only thing is no matter how much I drink I still could not forget the hurt, I thought drinking would help me out of my misery but in reality I only got drunk but I could still remember everything.

I picked up my phone and started sending messages to Justin. After sending so many messages to him, the only message that made sense was when I asked when he would be back home. I was patiently waiting to get a reply from him, this made me remember how he would immediately reply to my messages in the past, but this time even after so many messages I did not get any response so I continued drinking.

When I was almost done with the last bottle my phone lit up with a message, I expected the message to be from him but the moment I opened my phone I noticed the message was from Sally instead.

“I just saw Zach Fleming! He just walked into the VIP room, he's so handsome. I wish you were still here I would have…”

Sally stopped sending the message when our eyes met, she probably thought I had already gone home. I gulped the last drink left in the cup and was about getting up from my seat to go meet Zach before Sally came to stop me.

“What are you still doing here Kyla? You… oh my goodness I can't believe you drank all this.” Sally looked at my table in disbelief. I am not usually such a heavy drinker but this time I had so much to drink.

“Take me to Zach, I want to have a conversation with him.”

“What? You don't mean it right?”

“I mean everything that comes out of my mouth, please take me to him, I have something important to tell him.” I requested. Sally looked confused as she was hesitating to take me there because of my present state.

“You are not in your right mind right now Kyla, you can't go to him. Do you even know who you're trying to meet with? That is Zach Fleming.”

“His wife is sleeping with my husband!” I yelled at the top of my voice causing the attention of everyone to be on both of us. Sally couldn't stop me anymore so I found my way to the VIP room but when I was about to go in the bouncer stopped me.

“I have to speak with Zach, let me in.” I told the bouncer at the door.

I know that Ella and Justin are the total opposite when it comes to social status so I'm very sure Ella isn't serious with him. She just wants to destroy our marriage. I need to save my marriage at all cost so speaking to Zach might help.

I was staggering because I already had too much to drink.

“Ma'am, please leave, you're a constituting nuisance here.” I raised my head to look at the bouncer and at this moment I knew that I had to do something stupid before I could get in.

“I have something to say about his wife and my husband!” I yelled at the top of my voice hoping Zach would hear me

Writer's POVA few days later, Kayla had already gone to the store where she would like to start her gallery, and things were going very smoothly for her because the money was there, and she also had the support of her close friend Zach.Ella did not give up on spying on both of them; she is ready to do whatever it takes to make sure that their relationship doesn't work out and she finds her way back into her ex-husband's life. She realized that life without his last name was totally horrible and not what she expected it to be, and it made her see that the reason why she had so many audiences before was as a result of her relationship with her husband and because of this last name. Her relationship with Justin was getting worse every day. They do not talk to each other; they just do their things without asking each other how they feel or what they want. Most times they don't even see each other for a month or more. They sleep in the same house as strangers and not as people in a rela

Writer's povKayla knew that she shouldn't have said the thing that she said but she was just too frustrated that she didn't think about how her mom would feel.Looking back now she realized how horrible Her mom has always made her feel and the way she always makes everything her fault in the end was really unfair. What hurts her the most is that her mom still blames her for her baby’s death. Mother has never thought about how she feels or the things she goes through, the only thing she cares about is herself and how rich you would become if both of them stays married. While Kayla was still upset about the call with her mom Sally walked into the house looking a little upset.“Hey.” Sally dropped her bag on the table looking very exhausted and frustrated at the same time. Kayla was also not in a good mood so both of them decided to drink and pour out their heart because it's been a while since they last did such a thing. There's been a lot of drama surrounding them of late which has ma

Kayla's POVWhen Justin finally left, I was so upset that I wanted to hit him really hard because how does he still have the right to sit down here and have a conversation with me and want both of us to go back to the way we used to be? Even though I hate it so much that we've turned out this way, I cannot let my guard down anymore and return to him. We’re a closed chapter, and I'm never going back down that lane again.Today Sally wouldn't be working at the club; it's her day off over there. I didn't want to disturb her with my issues anymore, which is why I didn't bother to tell her that Justin was at the house, and it doesn't feel like I was lying because I told her I didn't go anywhere again, so I just had to make sure he was away before she returned.“I can't believe he actually found where I live. I know that there is no way Lucy could have given him the address because she's definitely on my side. She's not like my mom, who has never picked my side.” I thought to myself, still

Kayla's POVI was very irritated when I heard the question that he asked because he is supposed to be concerned about me and hate himself for what he did to me, but instead he is here still trying to make things worse between both of us by asking me stupid questions about my relationship with Zach.“What makes you think you have the right to ask me such a question?” “Don't try to ignore my question. I just asked you a question, and I need you to respond immediately.”“Why?” I was fuming at this point because his level of stupidity was something that I couldn't stand anymore. “You did whatever you did to me without thinking of how I would feel, and here you are trying to question me about how I live my life and who I speak to? Need I remind you that both of us are no longer married and we do not have any relationship, so I would advise you to use your head and stop trying to bring words out of my mouth.” I was so upset that the sight of him disgusted me even more now.“Kayla, I know

  • The Price Of Betrayal: A Matter of Revenge    Chapter 43

Writer's POVThe news about Sally and Kendrick's relationship spread across the company, and everyone was talking about their relationship even though there wasn't any solid proof. The only thing they could use was the image that was taken during the dinner party. Sally felt very embarrassed once again because she was seen as a whore who wants to leech on Kendrick because he is now the present CEO of the company, and that is an image she hates the most, but she was unable to defend herself because it will take a lot to convince every staff member in the company that both of them are not in a relationship. Sally thought it would be smart to, first of all, go to Mr. Kendrick's office and apologize to him for making them start such stupid rumors around the company. She thought he would be regretting why he stepped in for her in the first place and why he chose to take her out for dinner yesterday. “Good day, sir,” He raised his head to look at the moment she walked into his office. “

  • The Price Of Betrayal: A Matter of Revenge    Chapter 42

Writer's POVTwo days later.Sally got to work extremely early because she didn't want anyone to get there before her, especially after what happened last week. She arranged her desk properly and sat down on the chair, waiting for everyone to resume work for the day. While everyone was resuming, she chose not to lock eyes with any of them because she was still kind of upset with them even though she got her lick back that day.Chris walked in, and unlike before, she didn't greet him even though she saw him walk inside. After what they did to her, she decided she wasn't going to act stupid towards them anymore, and she's going to act like every other staff member without trying to make herself act too good to be promoted. Sally decided to drop the idea of getting promoted and just enjoy her work experience. Maybe that way she will feel better.“Bring the file to my table now.” Chris called her using the landline; he could have easily called her name like he used to scream at her, but h
