Kyla pov
I decided to pay a visit to my best friend. We both agreed to meet at the bar where she works at night.
“Babes, you do not look good at all, why are your eyes swollen?” Sally asked me.
“Sally, I have a feeling Justin is really seeing another woman.” I confess to her being unable to hold back my tears. I have been crying all day Sally, I don't know how to handle the situation.
“You know that's impossible right?”
“It is, I went through his messages.”
“What?” Sally said a little on top of her voice.
Justin and I used to be envied in school. We were this famous couple that no one could come in between. Maybe he has finally grown tired of loving one woman in so many years.
Sally was furious because she's been there all through, she knows the sacrifices that I made just so that this marriage could be where it is today.
“Why would he even think of doing such a thing to you?”
“You never know, maybe he's tired. I mean it's been years already.”
“Don't you dare say that, you sacrificed a lot for this relationship so it's not going to end like that. Tell me what's her name?”
“Ella Brey, I don't know who she is but…”
“Wait a minute.. are you talking of the same Ella Brey?”
“Is she someone I'm supposed to know?” I asked Sally curiously because she seemed to know who this Ella Brey is.
“Everyone, especially in the gallery knows who she is. She's married to Zach Fleming.”
“Seriously?” Zach Fleming is a son of the flaming family, they are one of the richest in the country.
“So what the hell is she doing with my husband?”
“I am as surprised as you are, no offense but your husband is nowhere close to Zach's status.” I was in deep thoughts still trying to understand the reason why she is with my husband in the first place when she has someone like Zach by her side.
“Work calls, you know I'm actually thinking of quitting this bar job and just focused on my morning shift at the company.” I was still thinking about what she just told me so I couldn't even respond to what she was talking about.
“Kyla, I know this isn't easy for you, if I were in your shoes I wouldn't know how to handle such a situation as well, so I want you to calm down and not do anything stupid.”
“Sally, you don't understand how I feel, he betrayed me, he broke the trust in our relationship. Do you even have an idea of how that hurts?”
“Kyla, you're drinking too much already, let me help you get a cab, so I can go back to my work.” I don't even want to look at his face right now so going home it's not what I want.
“I'm fine, I'm just going to finish this bottle and go home.”
“Are you sure?” I forced a smile immediately and nodded my head.
Sally went ahead to start her work while I continued to drink, when the bottle finished I remembered the promise I made to Sally but I couldn't keep it because I needed more drinks. Maybe after drinking I would be able to feel better.
I requested another bottle, and after that I still requested another one until I was completely wasted but the only thing is no matter how much I drink I still could not forget the hurt, I thought drinking would help me out of my misery but in reality I only got drunk but I could still remember everything.
I picked up my phone and started sending messages to Justin. After sending so many messages to him, the only message that made sense was when I asked when he would be back home. I was patiently waiting to get a reply from him, this made me remember how he would immediately reply to my messages in the past, but this time even after so many messages I did not get any response so I continued drinking.
When I was almost done with the last bottle my phone lit up with a message, I expected the message to be from him but the moment I opened my phone I noticed the message was from Sally instead.
“I just saw Zach Fleming! He just walked into the VIP room, he's so handsome. I wish you were still here I would have…”
Sally stopped sending the message when our eyes met, she probably thought I had already gone home. I gulped the last drink left in the cup and was about getting up from my seat to go meet Zach before Sally came to stop me.
“What are you still doing here Kyla? You… oh my goodness I can't believe you drank all this.” Sally looked at my table in disbelief. I am not usually such a heavy drinker but this time I had so much to drink.
“Take me to Zach, I want to have a conversation with him.”
“What? You don't mean it right?”
“I mean everything that comes out of my mouth, please take me to him, I have something important to tell him.” I requested. Sally looked confused as she was hesitating to take me there because of my present state.
“You are not in your right mind right now Kyla, you can't go to him. Do you even know who you're trying to meet with? That is Zach Fleming.”
“His wife is sleeping with my husband!” I yelled at the top of my voice causing the attention of everyone to be on both of us. Sally couldn't stop me anymore so I found my way to the VIP room but when I was about to go in the bouncer stopped me.
“I have to speak with Zach, let me in.” I told the bouncer at the door.
I know that Ella and Justin are the total opposite when it comes to social status so I'm very sure Ella isn't serious with him. She just wants to destroy our marriage. I need to save my marriage at all cost so speaking to Zach might help.
I was staggering because I already had too much to drink.
“Ma'am, please leave, you're a constituting nuisance here.” I raised my head to look at the bouncer and at this moment I knew that I had to do something stupid before I could get in.
“I have something to say about his wife and my husband!” I yelled at the top of my voice hoping Zach would hear me
Writer's povThe day started quietly, without any sign that something important was about to happen. Zach and Kendrick were in the living room, going through old files again. The kidnap case had dragged on for weeks, and though Ella was still moving freely, there had always been a question mark over her. They just hadn’t been able to prove anything.Kayla and Sally were in the kitchen, making tea. The air felt lighter since they escaped, Everyone knew Ella wouldn’t stop until something finally happened. It was Kendrick who noticed the small envelope tucked inside one of the files the police had returned earlier. At first, he thought it was nothing, just another overlooked paper. But when he pulled it out and unfolded it, his eyes stopped. There, clear as day, was a printed copy of a message. It was an email Ella had sent to one of the hired men who had guarded Kayla and Sally during their abduction. The message was short and direct, arranging payment. It even included her name at the
Writer's povKayla was seated in the room, thinking about her decision to go back to Zach, she knew Sally was happy to hear it but that does not mean that Zach would be happy about it, she stood up from the bed and headed downstairs so she could speak to Sally a little more.Sally sat comfortably on the couch using her phone, one leg tucked under the other. She got distracted by Kayla's presence and she stared at her for a while. She knew when something was weighing heavily on Kayla, even when Kayla tried to cover it with silence.“You’re still thinking about him,” Sally said simply, breaking the silence.Kayla glanced up, meeting her friend’s eyes for a brief moment before looking away again. “I don’t know how to go about it, I feel like I'm doing something wrong.”Sally gave a small laugh. “Please. You’ve been quiet for days, and every time Zach’s name comes up, you stiffen like someone just pulled a cord. I know you, Kay. You love him, can you stop being stubborn about it? I know y
Writer's povSally and Kayla were very happy about everything that has happened so far because they have been very distant from both brothers, Kendrick and Sally also paused their relationship for a while because she doesn't know how to explain the situation to him so she just concluded that it's better she gives him distance which has been a very tough decision for both of them. I don't know why they are still pretending not to want each other.Kendrick used every means possible to tell her and what she didn't even careers about her but Sally isn't sure of having it because even though when she was missing she kept thinking about him, but she don't want to jump into the conclusion just because she thinks every time she says or say praise for him people seem more concerned.****””Kendrick decided to stop chasing after her so that she doesn't get to the stage of being irritated around him just because he chose to not give up. The whole thing was a total mess at this point and his marr
Writer's povKayla was trying very hard to act like she was doing Very well since her break up with son but she wasn’t doing good at all even Sally has called several times to check up on her but she wasn’t picking anyone’s call she just wants to be far from from everyone until Everything dies down and she knows that they are all safe from Ella’s torment. She noticed that things had already calmed down since her break up with him but she wasn’t sure Ella had given up and her silence might mean another thing. When she got back to the house she closed the door and cleaned before sitting tiredly. The house was very small, but even though she wasn’t used to living in such a place she had to endure.Outside, Ella moved silently as she surveyed the streets surrounding Kayla’s building. Her plan had been long in the making, and now the moment had arrived. Kayla had left Zach, but that didn’t matter Ella wouldn’t allow the obstacle to remain. She cannot exist in my way any longer, Ella thought
Writer's povIt was already morning and Zach was all alone in hyd room still thinking about the words Kayla said to him yesterday, the words were lingering in Zach’s mind.He got up from the bed and headed downstairs as he was trying to clear his mind and focus on the next thing. He made coffee, half-listening to the news, staring out the kitchen window as if the world beyond could give him answers. But it wouldn’t. Not today. Not ever.Kayla has left just like that, she walked out of his life, supposedly for their safety, and yet Zach has refused to accept that story, be shady he believes they are safe when they work together and plan together. He replayed every conversation, every glance, every word spoken between them, trying to understand her, but he couldn’t find anything, the reality of the breakup with the woman he loved was beginning to hit hard. While he was staying all alone, Kendrick joined him.“Are you still sulking over….”“She didn’t mean it,” He muttered to Kendrick, Ke
Writer's povElla woke up very early with so much on her mind, that made her pace around for a while without any direction of her thought. The walls closing in around her. Her mind was a whirlwind of disbelief, anger, and obsession. The phone call she had intercepted last night or rather, the messages she had seen had thrown her into a state of confusion.Kayla… she left him? She actually left him? The thought refused to settle. Ella stopped mid-step, hands, she placed her hand on her moth, No. That can’t be. They’re lying. They have to be lying. They’re trying to trick me, make me feel… foolish. She had a feeling that they are playing games with her and trying to make her stop whatever she’s doing with the fake story of their break up. She knew there’s no way Kayla would breakup with him like that because even when she was kidnapped she didn’t, so why would she do such all of a sudden.Ella’s lips pressed into a thin line, her fists clenching. They’re playing with me. They have to be.
